Spent 3 nights in the cottage for my boyfriends 30th birthday. 7 adults were comfortably catered for with the use of the sofa bed. The cottage was clean, warm and with a fully equiped kitchen. The owners even kindly left us cake and provided lots of extra information on what to do on the area. We went skiing at Glenshee, a 20 to 30 minute drive and biking. Lots of outdoor activities in the area, stunning scenery and a lovely cottage, we didn't want to leave. Will certainly try to have another visit sometime. Thank you Oliver and Eileen for a wonderful stay.

“Lovely house, welcoming and helpful owners”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

We stayed here for a skiing weekend, just over 30 minutes to Glenshee. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Eileen was welcoming and helpful, offering the use of their landline when we couldn't get mobile reception.

Response from the owner Hello Isobel Thank you for taking the time to post a review for Freuchies Mill. We are glad that you and your friends enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you all again some time. Kind regards Oliver & Eileen

Very warmful welcome from Eileen and Oliver.Very helpful and always ready to explain about what you need as well as indicating what to do or see in the area. Very clean and extremly comfortable house with everything you need.Lovely bedrooms , view on a large wonderful garden with a lot of space for the children to play and parents to admire the landscape. A lot of animals in the area; Easy to go walking and driving around. We really enjoyed our holidays.

“Another great stay at West Freuchies”

We stayed in the mill house and have found it to be one of the best appointed self catering cottages we have stayed in across the UK. Eileen and Oliver could not be more welcoming and helpful and always have time for a chat and ready advice on where to go and what to see. We thoroughly recommend the Mill and the location to anyone.

Response from the owner Thank you Erwin and Morag for the kind review. It was lovely to welcome you back for a second time to Freuchies Mill and we are so glad that the weather was good. We do hope we will see you back again for the hat trick. Kind regards Oliver & Eileen

“Top of the range”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2013

had a wonderfu stay at this superb accommodation. Eileen and Oliver made us so welcome and home cooked goodies awaited us in the beautiful kitchen with every need you could imagine. Bedrooms were very comfortable (we had a super kingsize bed) with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Eileen provides home cooked food - free range eggs from the hens in the coop and even bakes her own bread. The gardens are a must to wander around and wildlife such as pheasants and deer visit regularly. Every aspect of the accommodation is "top of the range" and we would recommend this luxury home to anyone wishing a stay in the area.

Response from the owner Thank you Carole and Victor for the lovely review. We are delighted that you and the rest of your family had such a great time at Freuchies Mill. What a bonus that the weather was so kind to you and the brown trout so obliging. We hope to see you here again sometime. Best wishes Oliver & Eileen

Owners Eileen and Oliver were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Facilities in the house explained clearly on arrival and the lemon drizzle cake Eileen had baked for us, as a welcome gift, was superb. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully laid out with every possible electrical aid. The heating was more than adequate to keep us warm, radiators (in every room) and a log burner. Plenty of towels and bedding provided, including a change mid stay when different guests arrived. The location was incredibly peaceful and relaxing with plenty of walks directly from the house. .

Response from the owner Dear Chris and Family Thank you very much for the lovely review. We are always very grateful when our guests take the time to write a review and we are delighted that you all enjoyed your stay here. Hopefully you will return some day and we shall look forward to it. Kind regards Oliver & Eileen

“A stylish and comfortable cottage in a beautiful and tranquil lo”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2013

My wife and I took our four young daughters to Freuchies Mill for an Easter break. Eileen & Oliver were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, with thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers on the kitchen table and a box of lovely, homemade brownie (scoring highly with the kids!). The cottage was stylish and smart but also very cosy and homely, important during the sunny but cold weather in early april. It was delightful to come 'home' after a day's walking and sledging to cook a meal in the immaculate and well-equipped kitchen. Then relax in the lounge, with its picture window looking out over the garden, fields and hills beyond, let the kids toast marshmallows by the log-burner and watch the birds, red squirrels and occasional deer come by. Don't come here if you like hustle and bustle and the noise of the city because it is remote. But that was just what we were looking for - we loved the peace and tranquility, the wildlife and the walks available direct from your front door. We hope to be back soon.

Response from the owner Dear John and Susan We are so glad that you and the girls had such a great time in the Mill. Thank you for the lovely review, we do try hard to make your stay special and the feedback is always appreciated. Kind regards Oliver & Eileen

“Totally relaxing and refreshing.”

This cottage is a proper 'home from home' experience, it is meticulosly clean and the most well equiped holiday rental that we have stayed at by far! The rooms are both spacious, well appointed with the most beautiful views across the glen. In the garden Roe Deer and pheasent wander freely not to mention the many birds that frequent the bird feeders. Eileen and Oliver are both very friendly and welcoming, and Eileen's stem ginger loaf was a welcome treat! We especially liked having our coffee in the conservatory in the morning where we could watch the wildlife, and the wood burning stove in the lounge was so cosy as we had a heavy snowfall the weekend we stayed. Glen isla itself is fairly central for travelling to Blairgowrie,Pitlochry and other areas, with lots of beautiful walks within the area. We enjoyed it so much that we can't wait to go back!

Response from the owner Hello Laurie and Yvonne Thank you very much for the lovely review. When guests say such nice things about the Mill it makes the hard work really worthwhile. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Kind regards Oliver & Eileen
