“Comfortable and great location”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2013

Ashley is really helpful and lives next door. He provides a book with tons of local info and maps. The cottage is charming and as described on the website. Note that there is just one bathroom. We (2 couples) loved the location. It's on a quiet street, 5km from the centre, nice garden to relax in. It's only 2 mins to the main bus routes and we found we could get around to most of the local attractions very well on the buses. Llao Llao, Cathedral etc. You can walk up the back road to the lift to Cerro Otto. There are some local restaurants and many in Bariloche or along the main bus routes. Go to Camping Petunia (Km13? ask ashley) for lunch - you have to walk all the way through the campsite and there's a lovely little restaurant right by the lake.

“Great Cottage Great Owner”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2012

We are a homeschooling family of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed here for 3 weeks. Throughout our entire stay my two kids kept asking why we couldn't stay longer. They felt very much at home and really enjoyed having ashley the owner about to help us settle in and navigate our adventures in Bariloche and the surroundings. It was a perfect way to "unplug" and enjoy the winter ski season in comfort and style. And we still managed to keep up with the studies! The cottage is walking distance from the lake, a few shops, and to what is now our favorite restaurant in Bariloche.. We are staying on in Bariloche for 5 more months and the only reason we didn't stay longer was because it was already booked!!

“A Cosy,Comfortable,Convenient Cottage”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2012

This charming cottage, located 5.7 kms from the centre of Bariloche is located in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance of shops and frequent bus service to the town.It is also very well situated for various hikes and cycling trips. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful regarding information about the area with excellent suggestions on how best to spent our time. The cottage will sleep 4 comfortably and 6 in a pinch. There is a full kitchen which allowed us to escape some restaurant meals and enjoy some home cooked meals.I can highly recommend this accommodation for those planning to visit the Bariloche de los andes area.

“Great place to stay and Bariloche is open for business”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2011

This is a great place to stay. Very comfortable, well maintained and with all the things you need. The owner's very helpful and always on hand to offer advice if needed. There's a folder with lots of local information about walks and things to do and see, which is very useful. I would certainly recommend staying here. It's a bit out of town and I would certainly consider hiring a car while you're there for ease of getting around. The owner organised car hire for us with a local company which worked out fine. We had heard some reports before we arrived that Bariloche had been badly affected by the volcanic ash, however we found this not to be the case when we arrived. Sure there's ash around but it's only a minor inconvenience - there's dust around which tends to be churned up by the traffic a bit and some of the views are obscured, particularly towards the north but other than that everything was fine. Villa la angostura on the northern side of Lake Nahuel Huapi (85km from Bariloche) has been badly affected and it's worth a visit to see. One local lady in a shop in Villa la angostura laughed scornfully saying "they (meaning Bariloche) have had nothing" when we spoke about the ash in Bariloche.

“Cosy, first class service, great value”

My wife and I and our 3 kids (10,12 and 14) stayed here for a skiing holiday august '11. We all loved the cottage, which is a few minutes out of Bariloche town center and just 20 minutes from the Cerro Catedral ski resort. The property is managed by ashley, and he really looked after us. In the weeks leading up to our trip he was in touch constantly by mail to keep us up to date with the situation regarding the volcanic eruption, and he arranged car hire and recommended a wonderful place to hire ski clothes and equipment. Ashley also provides a very detailed written guide to local places to eat and drink (including some great local micro breweries), walks and other activities. In short, we would highly recommend this rental, and hope to go back and stay with ashley again at some point.

“Great place!! Great time!!”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2011

My partner, I and our 13 & 10 years old kids are brazilians and the kids wanted to see snow for their first time,so we decided to go to Bariloche last July 17 from Rio de Janeiro, in spite of all the ordeals caused by the Vulcano ashes in that region. After some flight delay problems we got to Bariloche one day after our previous schedule but were warmly welcomed by ashley, the property's owner & we felt very comfortable with his assistance and friendship. In the end, Ashley managed to fit us one more day to compensate the one we lost, so we wouldn't miss our previous scheduled time to enjoy Bariloche. We saw snow on our first 2 days, enjoyed the city on the other 2, the house is pretty comfortable and cozy and the kids felt like really having a "in the woods" experience there(which is a "blast" for urban kids from a big city like Rio!!). I recommend all visitors to Bariloche this property as your lodging option.Eu Recomendo a Todos OS Brasileiros QUE VÃOa Bariloche QUE SE Hospedem Nessa Linda Casinha DE Campo!! Wish all my best to ashley and his wife!! Manu Peclat

“charming place with a very supportive owner”

The recommendation is in our letter that we wrote to Eshley and the letter says it all. Dear Eshley We send you some words from the Himalaya with a lot of good memories from Barilloche and your lovely cottage. Even though we are travelling for a year all over the world and we meet so many nice people on the roads, we always carry the memory of your dedicated treatment to our family when we needed a good advice, a good care and even when we were far away from town( in the Carotera austral ) with a broken part in our car, you were always there with good will, kindness and a smile. Thank you for all that and more. See you next time, hopefully soon Bachana family Zvika, Naomi and the kids Talia, Aviv & Gilad

“A wonderful stay in beautiful Bariloche!!!!”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2011

My partner and I stayed at this charming cottage for a month in March 2011, a much needed rest after some stressful traveling throughout the continent. We were not disappointed! The owners (an English / Argentinian couple) were very lovely; helping us plan / organise trips in and around the Lake District, imparting knowledge on the local area and helping with absolutely anything they could! The cottage itself was very lovely, immaculately clean and very well equipped (unlike most holiday rentals). The location was perfect, just far enough outside of Bariloche town to enjoy a slower pace whilst being close enough to enjoy everything the town has to offer. We had a wonderful stay in Bariloche and would recommend this cottage to anyone without reservation!

“Best of Bariloche”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2011

My wife and I highly recommend this wonderful accommodation. Felt like home. Residential neighbourhood, quiet. The location is perfect as you are in a striking distance to all the classic "must see" of the Bariloche area. Ashley was very helpful and knowledgable. Would return in a flash. “Great self catering cottage and friendly service”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2011

This is a really attractive cottage with 2 good sized bedrooms and a lovely kitchen/dining/living area. Ashley (the owner) was really helpful and gave us loads of recommendations for walks and activities. It was good to be able to self cater as it meant we could make picnics to go on our trecks and eat when we wanted (argentinians tend to eat at about 10pm so it can be difficult to get an early reservation). It is about 10 minutes from the centre of bariloche, we didnt have a hire car so we hopped on the bus (the stop is about 2 mins walk away) or got a taxi. Baroliche was a highlight of the trip as the scenery is spectacular and there is masses to do. I would certainly recommend this cottage to a friend - enjoy!
