“Perfect, Quiet Getaway”
We had a wonderful time. There was snow on the ground when we arrived and it snowed heavily the first night we were there. (The kids went out and played at midnight) Early the next morning, the roads were already drivable in the neighborhood! The 2 living areas were perfect for the adults and kids to seperate and enjoy the TV. Even in the snow, my son fished in the pond and caught some. Having the fish food available was a nice touch.Beds were comfortable and everthing was in working order. The drive to town was 10 minutes and kept us away from the traffic of the strip in Pigeon Forge. We are thinking of making it an annual vacation :)
Response from the owner Thank you for letting other guests know that you did Catch & Release! I am so thrilled that your family had a wonderful time. We look forward to your return visit and do hope that you make us your annual vacation. I refurbish C&R every year in May so it will different every time you come back.
Very nice home, 15 minutes from Pigeon Forge and you feel like your totaly seculeded. Home has everything you need to make you feel at home. The spring fed creek that runs through the back yard and under the house into the pond is priceless. Listening to the water will relax you and melt away the stress.
Response from the owner We are so happy you enjoyed our backyard creek and the soothing sounds it blends within our natural setting.
“as good as it gets”
the cabin is situated in a valley and although it does not offer spectacular mountain views they have made the best possible use of the space.the creek running under the house and into the pond is just awesome! Absolutely beautiful property inside and out! No neighbors within sight (which we loved!)and you feel like you're all alone in the wild...although only minutes from the action! Thanks for a wonderful stay in a beautiful place (and spotless too I might add)
Response from the owner I so appreciate your recognition of how wonderful our housekeeping and maintenance staff are at Catch and Release. They do an outstanding job for each and every guest. As we say in Tennessee, "y'all come back"!
“Perfect getaway & setting”
Loved the setting immediately. The house is situated perfectly on the lot. I was a bit concerned about the distance from everything before we got there but it turns out it's not far at all from everything. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out around the pond especially with our 2 year old. She loved feeding the fish. We went with another couple, their teenage daughter & our 2 year old. We fit perfectly in the house. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed although we didn't cook in there as much as we would've liked to. We went to Dollywood, shopping and eating in town most of our time. The media/game room area is where we stayed the majority of the time when we were there & it fit all of us comfortably while we watched movies. We definitely plan to go back and plan to stay in the cabin a little more to truly relax. The owner was also always quick to respond to my emails and very helpful with great tips & suggestions about the area. We'll definitely go back just as soon as we can. I've already recommended this cabin to a co-worker & assured him that the pics don't do the property justice.
“Our family loved it and it's very relaxing.”
We wanted to take a family vacation to the Smoky Mountains for spring break and this was the place we stayed in for 4 nights. We have 3 kids. A 2 & 10 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. From the check in to the security gate from our entire stay it was absolutly wonderful. The only complaint I have is us getting lost the night we came in the neighborhood. The roads were gravely and some steep. From the directions on the paper and the signs on the roads it was very confusing. But once we found the house it was worth it and it looked better than the pictures. The inside was very clean. The kitchen had everything you needed. I loved the counter tops. There is a lot of books and movies for the family. Plenty of tv's for everyone. Loved the surround sound in the main living room. The most frustrating thing for us inside was the stairs and making sure our 2 year old wasn't going up or down without someone. The bathrooms were great I loved the lighting in both. Plenty of towels and wash rags. Also plenty of pillows and extra covers. There is no cell phone signal but there is wifi. The outside was so breath taking. I have to say it was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The creek stream runs under the house into the front pond. The back yard was the best for me. I just let the kids run around and play. My 2 year old kept heading for the pond in the front. We just let him fish on the porch with his daddy with one of the cane poles that was there. The hot tub on the back porch was very relaxing. We loved the gas grill also. We grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs one night. Let's just say we didn't want to leave and go do anything once we were there. The kids loved playing pool, foosball, playing in the creek, and also getting in the hot tub (not my 2 year old though)lol. I will love to stay here again when ever we plan to go back.
“Attractive mountain home in peaceful setting.”
The house sits on a quiet mountain side. We went in our 4WD Subaru. We saw many different types of butterflies, birds, wild turkeys, trees and flowers. Our children, girls ages 6 and 12, liked to sit on the big rocks next to the pond and feed the fish breadcrumbs. The lovely mossy backyard was very peaceful, and a hot tub was there. The house was attractively decorated inside, and throughout was very clean. There was a wonderful selection of things to do inside the house, such as checkers and chess on attractive wood tables with the game pattern etched onto them, and leather director's style game chairs. There were also board games, foozball, and beautiful pool table, and of course the nice tvs, DVD selection. The sofas were very comfy. In the family room/game room there was a large curved leather sofa with a large flat screen tv, as were the other 2 tvs.The dining room table was circular and provided plenty of room. It had sturdy wood chairs, appropriate for the setting. Tall stone fireplace. Plenty of space for the 4 of us to be together, or go somewhere to do our own thing. The house is also only a 15 minute drive to a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. Also, it is an easy drive to the National Park, Dixie Stampede, and Dollywood, which we also really enjoyed. We live outside Washington, DC. This was a wonderful, peaceful getaway. You feel a million miles away, but you are close enough to civilization if you need it.
Response from the owner It was wonderful having your family as our guests at Catch & Release! You are welcome back any time you decide to travel our way again especially by the housekeeping team, who appreciated how nice you left C&R.
“Our stay here was amazing!”
We stayed here for 4 nights on a family vacation. I highly recommend it! Super clean, peaceful and relaxing!
“Weekend at C”
This was a perfect location for us --close to Pigeon Forge, but not in town. Loved the seclusion, the pond, and the landscaping. Everything was just as described. The home is roomy, clean and comfortable and there are no other cabins in sight. We took our 4-year old grandson and he thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and the yard. Great value, great location, and accomodations. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!
“Wedding at Catch and Release!!!”
What a wonderful place!! We had a beautiful ceremony in the back yard for our Wedding!! You couldnt imagine a more perfect back drop for us.. It was so perfect it looked like someone painted it.. The leaves had just enough change.. Inside was perfect for our reception.. After our reception the real vacation began!! So peaceful... Loved sitting out back at night with just the sound of the stream running beside the house. It even got better when the morning of our last night we had a real experience of nature.. A small back bear desided to have a drink or a little fun in the pond.. As we watched from the front porch.. He didn't even care we were there.. It was amazing!!! My husband also enjoyed your fishing equipment, he was able to catch 4 fish.. He loved it!! We really didn't want to leave.. I have vacationed in many area's but if you just want to get away and feel at home, this place is perfect!!! Thank You Sandra for all your help with the most amazing day of our lives... We will always feel that Catch and Release is our special get away.. and will be for years to come!
“Escape from Life”
We enjoyed our retreat from everyday life at this lovely home in the woods tremendously. The accommodations were excellent, and the setting was so peaceful and beautiful. A very unique home that was appreciated by all.
