“A good find”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2016

We were travelling as a family of four to the area and needed a holiday let for a short period, and we came across Serendipity. The house was ideal for a short break. Pity we were not there longer to make the most of it. The owner had thought of everything and was very helpful and clear in making our stay problem free. The house was clean, modern, well-equipped, and the double room and twin-bedded room lay-out suited our purposes very well. An extra TV in the bedroom was a welcome surprise. The free use of the gym and pool was much appreciated. Parking was next door to the house. All ran like clockwork, and we all enjoyed our stay in this immaculate holiday house.

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking the time to write such a brilliant review. So glad you enjoyed your stay at Serendipity and looking forward to hearing from you again in the near future. Regards Deb

Comfy quality furniture. Two minutes from a fantastic stretch of beach. The bay has a great indoor pool, pub and fantastic small Italian restraunt.

“Beautiful home - superb service”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2014

We stayed in August 2014 as a family of four. Our two children are 8 & 11. Before we arrived the owner, Deb, provided excellent communications to confirm our stay, directions & facilities. Serendipity is superbly maintained in a fairly new holiday village development. There is a lot of building work going on but thankfully nowhere near this property & didn't affect us at all. Deb provides everything a guest could hope for - DVDs, family games, milk on arrival, condiments & kitchen sundries, books, plenty of towels, every beach toy you could think of, deck chairs, windbreak etc. There's a BBQ too but weather didn't hold for us. There is a private path down to the beach around a 10 minute walk and then miles of sandy beach to run the legs off the kids. The site has a pub & Italian cafe/restaurant. Both were reasonable with standard fayre. There is use of a medium sized leisure pool included plus extra limited sports you can pay for. We did archery but to be honest beach and accessibility to surrounding Yorkshire coastline meant we didn't need. The only room for improvement on the site were WiFi access (only signal at the pub or leisure complex) and the absence of a shop. Neither caused us any problems. What a find and all credit to Deb. Would highly recommend.

“Fabulous location, excellent accommodation”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2014

I have visited this property several times and it is one of my favourite places to stay. The site has a pub, swimming pool with steam room and sauna, Italian Bistro. The site also has private access onto the beach and you can walk into Filey along the beach. The house is very clean and comfortable and even has condiments i.e., coffee, tea, washing up liquid - all the things you would normally have to take with you. It has a dishwasher and washing machine, which is ideal for me with 3 children! There is a cd player, television and a fabulous patio area which you can access through french doors. All in all a great place to stay to re-charge your batteries. I look forward to my next visit.

“Great place to stay near the seaside”

Reviewed 23 May 2014

The cottage is situated in a very new looking estate which is excellently maintained and has a pharmacy, pub and leisure centre on site. The cottage is extremely well presented and very clean. The back garden gets all the sun in the afternoon and there is a BBQ provided. An easy drive into Filey where there is a wide range of amenities, such as a Tescos and of course, the beach. Thoroughly recommended.

“A great seaside getaway!”

We are regulars to The Bay, and staying at Serendipity did not disappoint. The house is beautifully maintained, and perfectly for us as a family of four. It is clean and modern, and has everything you could need for a seaside break (including fishing nets!). Deb the proprietor is extremely helpful and should you need anything, she's only on the end of the phone. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely be returning!

“Superb, far exceeded our expectations.”

Cleanliness, warmth, and all round feel good factor are apparent as you walk through the door. The house is very well furnished, comfy furniture and a superb kitchen with all the accessories if you Choose to dine in. Location to the beach is obvious as you look at the map. However, a nice added bonus is the free access to the nearby luxury leisure centre, literally a 2 minute walk away. The sauna and steam room really made for a relaxing end to the day, followed by a lovely meal in the nearby local Gastro Pub. I look forward to my next visit in the new year.
