“Lovely holiday at Casa Rosa”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2014

We all had a lovely holiday in Bugnara and Casa Rosa was great. It was especially nice to find that all essential store cupboard ingredients were there, plus much more, fantastic touches and Jo and Dave have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. It was especially nice to have lots of different areas to sit out, great with the kids sunbathing on the roof terrace and me hiding in the garden! Loads to see and do in the area and we will be back soon. Thank you again Jo and Dave for making our holiday so great and easy fantastic customer service.

Response from the owner Thank you ever so much for your review and so glad you all had a good time. We too love the garden and roof terrace. Hope to hear from you again soon. Jo and Dave

“Wonderful Place to Stay”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2013

We had a wonderful holiday in abruzzo, made even better because of having the cottage as our home base. The cottage was very much home from home. Beautifully equipped with everything required and very comfortable. Perfect location. Set down a quiet pedestrianised path with no traffic or traffic noise but just 2 minutes walk from the village, with a few shops and bars. Jo and Dave were extremely helpful from the moment we made our enquiry and their directions and attention to detail were faultless, nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly recommend Casa Rosa and we will be back!

Response from the owner Mike, thank you for your lovely review. We love our holiday home and glad you and your family do too! Look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks again Jo & Dave

“Super Little Villa”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2013

We stayed at Casa Rosa in June and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was very comfortable and had everything that we could possibly have needed. The village was nice and friendly and the whole area was a great place to explore. My wife's favourite spot was the roof terrace and mine, Bar Gino! Thank you Jo & Dave for the use of Casa Rosa, its a super little villa and we look forward to returning again soon! J & C, UK

Response from the owner Thank you for your lovely review, so glad you enjoyed Casa Rosa and speak soon Jo & Dave

“Liked it so much we bought a house there!”

We wanted a family holiday (kids aged 9 and 11) in a convenient location. The booking was easy and the details about getting to the casa were excellent. It had everything we needed - a terrace for every moment of the day, all modcons and appliances (the Dvds were welcome diversions for tired kids) with clean and neat accommodation. The friendly, welcoming locals made our stay an experience rather than just a break and there are so many events on in the area and places to visit you'd need a lifetime to cover it all. Nature abounds with 4 National Parks nearby containing butterflies, bears and wolves. Hiking, climbing, caving, skiing and nearby beaches. Archaeology, historical buildings and Ovid's birthplace. Truly something for everyone in abruzzo!

“Excellent value and location”

A great family holiday home from home. Wonderful location with easy access to the motorway and close to all amenities. The home is very comfortable and relaxing with a bottle of wine and pasta to get you started on your first night! Kids loved their room and the little toys they could play with. Lots and lots to do in the area and we would highly recommend Casa Rosa to our friends and family. Thank you Joanna, Dave and Fay!

“A memorable experience in a medieval village in the abruzzo.”

Service was very good.On our arrival everything was ready, including food and essentials for making a meal immediately. This is en excellent start for any self catering holiday.Prior to our departure we had directions to Casa Rosa from the motorway ,as we travelled from Rome. The house is well placed for easy parking and yet central to the village. The views are excellent from the roof terrace, where it was most pleasant to sit in the early morning and evenings. Bugnara has only a few shops , but there are good supermarkets in Sulmona, and market days well worth visiting. The restaurant bar in Bugnara is excellent, serving local speciality dishes. We had many good evenings here, during our three week stay and felt a warm welcome at all times. By hiring a car we were able to tour the adriatic coast as well as the mountains. Our final stay in Rome completed a most interesting holiday and we will return. As we usually visit more touristic areas of Italy we did feel that we might be a little on our own and we might not meet many people in a small place. However it was just the opposite. We seemed to be greeted by the locals in bars and restaurants and had a great time at the annual all night festival. As well as the location, the very friendliness of the people of Bugnara certainly make us want to return. The only thing I would add is, that we would possibly choose to go earlier in the year when it would be cooler for walking.

“Casa Rosa, retreat from the tourists”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2010

My grandfather was born in Bugnara and we wanted to experience his hometown. What a better way than to be able to stay in a house for 2 weeks with everything you might need. We found that the photos on the website for the house, truly show the house as it is. The rooftop terrace was a morning retreat for coffee and late afternoons for appetizers and wine. We used the fireplace on several occasions and enjoyed both the heat and the romance. The kitchen is perfect for enjoying meals at the property whether at the table or outdoors on either terrace. Having a car is a neccesity if you want to travel and explore abruzzo. There are so many great sites and parks to travel to on a day trip with easy return before dark. The house even has a cooler that you can borrow to pack a lunch. Even the ski resorts are close by. The town itself is a hidden gem and most friendly. We loved the little restaurant by city hall for late night dinners when not out with friends or relatives. We loved the church bells ringing and the peacefullness. We will definately stay at this property again in the future.
