“Wonderful Condo in the Heart of Kailua-Kona”
My fiancee and I really enjoyed staying at this condo. It was quite nice inside with a great kitchen, living room, bathroom, king bed in the bedroom, and a lovely lanai overlooking the pool and ocean. Perfect for two. Beach gear (including snorkels/fins), washer/dryer in unit (huge plus because it allows you to pack way less clothes - $50 round-trip per checked bag, are you kidding me!) free wifi access, and a bookshelf with lots of Big Island tour guides and reading material were all provided as an added plus. The condo itself was located right off ali'i Dr., which is the main drag through Kailua-Kona, so it was within walking access to all the restaurants, stores, the pier, etc. (awesome because parking is not the easiest down there.) The condo grounds were also very nice - we didn't try the pool but it looked clean, and had BBQ units, which we also would have liked to use but didn't get the chance. Really this condo had everything we were looking for. I highly recommend.
“Fun in the sun”
We loved the condo as it was on the beach and close to Kona where we could easily walk into the town. The condo had everthing I wanted- from 3 different type of coffee pots, to boogie boards, purse type of cooler, beach chairs anf beach towels, a number of barbaques. The swimming pool was out our window and we had a high table and chairs where we could sit and enjoy the scene without blocking the view. The bed was very comfortable and we really loved the place. I highly recommend it for a couple as we used it as out home base to explore that side of the island.
“great location & comfort”
This was a perfect spot. We were by a beautiful beach to watch surfing and big waves, we could easily walk to many restaurants and entertainment. The bed was very comfortable and all conveniences were provided. There was a washer and dryer right in the condo and detergent was also provided. There was even snorkel gear, beach chairs, and boogie boards. The pool was great and the Bbq's very handy.
“Very nice condo in a very nice location”
The owner, Carol, is very nice to work with, and she keeps her condo well maintained and outfitted. The resort itself is very nice too, with pool and Bbqs, right on the shore, easy walk to the center of Kailua town, and great underground parking. Front office Shauna was a grouch, but staff support was good. I would definitely stay here again.
“Great Kondo - Perfect for Ironman or a vacation”
My husband and I stayed at Kona Reef (apt E11) for 8 nights in October 2011 for the Ironman World Champs. The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious; and for us most importantly, centrally located which enabled us to walk to Kailua Kona township with ease as we did not have a car. The apartment was well equipped with everything ranging from netflix and a fully equipped kitchen, to beach towels and snorkel gear. Chuck and Carol (the owners) went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome, leaving a basket of goodies to welcome us on our arrival. They were incredible hosts, taking time out of their own vacation to meet us for a coffee and give us their inside knowledge on what to see and do on the Big Island. Thanks for a wonderful stay - Apartment E11 Kona Reef comes highly recommended.
“Kailua-Kona Condo Hawaii”
The condo was wonderful, kitchen had eveything you could want for cooking, entertaining etc. It was very comfortable, loved the rocking chair.Very close to town.Activity person was very helpful. Carol was very thoughtful, she called the morning after our arrival to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I was a little disappointed in our ocean view from lanai, thought it was closer to the water.
“Ironman Stay 2010”
My wife and I loved our stay at Kona Reef. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai every morning looking over the pool and watching the surf - what a great way to wake up! We especially loved the convenience of the condo as we did not have a car. The condo is well maintained, clean and modern. Thanks Carol and Chuck for allowing us to stay at your condo. We hope to visit again soon!
“Best vacation ever!”
"This was our second trip to the Kona Reef but the first in this condo. The condo was bright, airy, clean and very comfortable. We had a problem with the air conditioning the first night and notified Carol. She had it replaced in a very short time and we had no other problems. It was so nice to come back to a place that we could truly relax. I cherished our early mornings on the lanai. The location of this condo is convenient to everything in town but has none of the traffic noise. I hope to go again in the future and will contact Carol first. Definitely recommend Dan the Beachcomber restaurant (within walking distance) and also recommend The Fish Hopper restaurant downtown on the bay. Both were fabulous. Also for anyone who snorkels or dives, highly recommend the Manta Ray Dive with big Island divers. Used the Kila Kila Sportfishing outfit for our marlin fishing and Teddy Hoogs is the best! Mahalo Carol for one of our best vacations ever. Stephen and Linda"
“Perfect condo for a Kailua-Kona base camp!”
We stayed at this condo for 1 week. What a great place! A fantastic rate for a condo so well located, comfortable and clean. And the beach accessories (towels, chairs, etc.) are a big plus! Easy walking distance to all the shops, cafes, restaurants, and mai tais (2 scenic choices right next door!) on the main strip ali'i Drive. Short drives to wonderful beaches and excellent snorkeling. And a great launching point for exploring much of the rest of the island -- we made day trips to the north and to the volcano. This will be the first place we try to stay when we return to the Big Island. If you want to stay in Kailua-Kona, stay here!
