“Charming Garden Suite in Central Jerusalem Neighborhood”
My husband and I stayed in this suite for a week in early September 2014. It was a first trip to Jerusalem for us, and we were looking for a central location, since we usually walk or take public transportation. The location of the suite was perfect--we walked to the Old City, the Market, Germantown, the old train station, the Israel Museum, and more, all quite easily. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the garden location of the suite is charming. We loved opening the gate at night, and returning to the peaceful surroundings. The suite is spacious, the bed comfortable, the flat screen TV a perk, and the kitchen well-equipped for light cooking. The owners live next door to the suite, and they are friendly but non-intrusive. They told us where to find neighborhood coffee shops and restaurants and helped with directions when needed. All in all, I highly recommend this property. Friends of ours have already stayed there on our recommendation. My only word of advice is to use the railing on the steps to the loft bedroom at night (this from a woman who shattered her shoulder in the States and can't be too careful).
“Very nice cottage”
We have very fond memories of our stay in this charming cottage. The cottage is perfectly situated with the important locations within walking distance. Talbiyh is nice and peaceful. The cottage is well equipped and everything works, although I foresee a few minor replacements in the future. But what must be mentioned is the very nice owner Matty and his kind family. They are eager to be of service or a nice talk. We recommend this cottage wholeheartedly!
“Nice owner -- but beware”
Last week my wife and I stayed in the Tamar suite, which is one of two suites advertised. The owner was very helpful, but the website is misleading. The Roni suite is much larger than the Tamar suite, and we thought we were getting the Roni suite. The photos do not clearly distinguish the two suites and the advertisement provides no indication of their relative size. The Roni has two levels, whereas the Tamar only consists of a small bedroom, a small sitting room, and a very small bathroom, all on one level. Also, "parking space" in the advertisement only indicates that there's on-street parking if you can find it. There is no designated space for these suites, and you must pay the meter. (We did not have any trouble finding a space in the neighborhood, however.) Finally, the "full kitchen" advertised lacks an oven. The location is very good, but there was a great deal of noise from the neighborhood, particularly in the early morning hours. The blinds in the bedroom do not keep out the light so be prepared to awaken early. Bottom line: The Tamar suite is ok, if you know what you're getting.
We stayed in the suite for 9 nights in May. What we liked: 1. the location. It's in one of the best most elegant neighborhoods, very quiet and serene. You can walk to the German colony or the old city from the apartment. 2. The Garden. It's lovely to have your own outdoor area. 3. The bed. It's very comfortable - American mattress and box spring. 4. The kitchen was also great and wi-fi and living area. What you need to know. 1. The ceiling in the bedroom loft is a dormer, so you have to watch your head when getting out of one side of the bed. 2. The bathroom is on the first floor, so when you get up in the morning, you just hop down the stairs.
This is a dream home to be in when visiting Jerusalem. The location is excellent - within walking distance to the Old City, Emeq Refaim, and even the Israel Museum (we love walking). The house is furnished with great taste, and we found all that we needed. The landlord was attentive and available for any question or request. It made the whole difference for our stay.
This apartment is absolutely wonderful! It is in a great location; walking distance from all sorts of attractions. The apartment itself is very clean. It has every amenity you would ever need. Two TVs with lots of channels, fridge, full kitchen with everything equipped. There is a garden right outside that is wonderful for sitting outside and relaxing with a good book; which if you want, there is an amazing bookshelf in the apartment with dozens of amazing books from all sorts of different styles and genres - so you know you will have something to read if you get bored. The walls are also covered in amazing art. It is just a great place. The landlord himself is a wonderful guy! He is very nice, and he truly cares. You can tell from walking around the apartment, and talking to him, how much effort he puts into this apartment. He goes above and beyond to provide a great place for tourists or visitors.
Matty Klopper has created a very comfortable flat at the side of his house in the beautiful Talbiya neighborhood. We spent a month here and found the apartment charming, warm and comfortable. The bedroom is a loft connected to the main level by stairs (see photo). The kitchen is well equipped. A significant fringe benefit is Matty's knowledge of Jerusalem and his enthusiasm for it. We look forward to returning.
“Location, location, location!”
An oasis of quiet in Israel's capital, the Theatre Suite was roomy, comfy, and most hospitable. We walked almost everywhere from its primo neighborhood site. We hope to return in 2012 and be first in line to stay there again!
“Fantastic stay in Jerusalem”
Wonderful apartment, exactly as described online. Very helpful assistance and suggestions from Matty. We had a great month in your beautiful apartment. Toda raba.
