I think the home was fine overall, furniture and ammenities were a little weak in regard to TV, no wireless internet. The thing that I remember the most unfortunately was the bed. The queen bed in master br was so uncomfortable.
Absolutely loved this place. Felt like home in that it was si cozy and inviting, but yet had breathtaking views. we did not want to leave. Driveway was daunting the first time, but after the first time was not a problem. The housekeeper did a great job of leaving the cabin in great condition. Location was great..minutes from grocery store and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.
“Amazing view of the mountains”
The name of the house says it all. We spent most of our time on the deck. The house is comfortable with plenty of room. The only frustrating thing we had to deal with was that there was no cable for the DVD player, yet an enormous DVD collection. Maybe it was just missing? We had a minor glitch with Biltmore tickets we ordered through Greybeard, but the staff bent over backwards to make it right. A great time and would stay there again.
This cabin is well appointed and comfortable. The views in late March 2013 are so incredible one may not want to leave to explore the valley.
The agency was great with the booking. We enjoyed our stay but there were a couple of things that marred the trip. The internet Didnot work at all. we arrived on a sat and there was no one to call. It never worked. Also the upstairs bedrooms were full of dead lady bugs and wasps by the windows. I know no one had been up there before we came to check on it. I was not happy to have to deal with that after a long ride. there is not enough seating in main room for more than 4 people and they are cramped. It was a nice house but the driveway takes getting used to. The View is truly great tho.
“Our stay was beautiful!!!”
We loved this cabin!!! It was very quiet but the personal items made our stay a little uneasy because it seemed we was definitely in someone elses home; instead of making us feel like we were right at home. I'll recommend this cabin to everyone. The people around the city was pleasant and welcoming. The view is just like it said, this cabin had the best view. You could stand on your porch and view all of the surrounding areas. Two thumbs up!!!
“House with a view”
The house has great views, the stars were amazing. It was a great space for the 4 of us. Nothing too fancy but had all the amenities to enjoy time with friends and family. The drive to get there is a little but steep and dangerous in the dark but manageable. If you like simple, quiet then this place is for you.
“Clean, neat and a "view"!”
The home was clean and neat. That was very important to me, being like a visitor to someone's home it made you comfortable right away. The view was great particularly as daylight begins and at night as you look down at the town of Black Mountain. You definitely want to arrive in the daylight, the drive is tricky. Stop at the walkway on the way down to unload and if you feel comfortable with it just park your vehicle there. If I were to return I would stop at the big grocery store (it is very well stocked) on the highway and pickup what ever I wanted for the days I would be there. Easy kitchen to use and all the things you need to cook with. It is an easy drive to the Biltmore, the Blueridge Pkwy and downtown asheville. To improve the visit Greybeard should give info about the grocery and the owner could provide better info on the internet. Oh! And if you want to take a walk for exercise the road up is great, you will get exercise!
“Just what the doctor ordered”
What a wonderful getaway. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. I'm sure in a few weeks when the leaves start to change colors 'The View' will be spectacular. Yes the driveway was a bit steep but we found if you go down and turn around (like you're departing the driveway)and stop midway up it worked great for us. The only thing we saw that may have been a down fall was we didn't take enough time. A weekend is just really not enough time. The downtown of Black Mtn was absolutely charming. There was something for all ages. I would love to come back again. Qudo's to the owner.
good. stuff in the bath tub was gross. needs a fire place
