“Beautiful, relaxing, close to town....just perfect!”
My girlfriend and I stayed at Jason and Angela's house and it was truly a perfect experience. The house is complete with 2 bedrooms, three beds, wifi, a full kitchen and living room and dining space, a grill and a super peaceful vibe. They gave us total privacy and the cedar hot tub was a great experience at the end of a day of hiking at Bandelier and provided some awesome stargazing. The house is a quick 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe and I have to say it was much nicer staying right outside of Santa Fe. The view of the mountains is simply breathtaking.
“Great hospitality, views and the ultimate home away from home”
My two best friends and I stayed at the Kirkman's Cottage during our artist/meet in the middle retreat in January and it was serene, beautiful, comfortable and in a great location for our travel needs. Instantly we felt welcomed and at home with fresh seasonal vegetables, homemade bread and homemade brew samples from the Kirkman's. Thanks to basic supplies and the full kitchen with utensils and cookware, we enjoyed many home cooked meals during our stay. The cottage itself was charming, clean and warm with amazing views. Jason and angela were extremely helpful and gave us advice on how to make the most of our trip in New Mexico before we arrived and during our stay. It was truly an oasis in the New Mexican desert. I look forward to returning again with friends and family in future visits to Santa Fe!
This is my second trip to the Kirkman's home in Santa Fe. In fact I can't wait to go back. As and avid Homeaway user I highly recommend this rental, it is absolutely delightful. This home has the quintessencial quaint feel that is Santa Fe. From the porch you can soak in the beautiful sights of the sun rise and peaceful environment surround you. Grab a cup of coffee and try the porch in the morning. In the evening fire up the grill and throw some steaks on, hopefully you can still grab some garden grub compliments of the owners. The hot tub is a divine highlight, we plugged in some jazz and enjoyed some wine and cheese. If you get lucky Jason might let you sample his home brew... so good we had to take some some : )) This place feels, fresh, clean and has everything you need (from wine bottle opener to a toaster and a coffee pot), without the hustle and bustle. The cost is amazing and can't be beat. During the day try out the town, just a quick few minutes into town and you are in the middle of everything Santa Fe offers. We took in Canyon Road, the farmers market, some awesome restaurants. P.S. grab some pastries from the french bakery attached to La Fonda (it is heavenly).
“Charming and cozy accommodations”
We were greeted with a basket full of fresh grape tomatoes, exotic carrots and other goodies from Jason and angela's garden. The tomatoes were the best we ever tasted...delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed trying out the hot tub and delighted in seeing the milky way and many, many other stars on clear nights. The accommodations were lovely, clean and convenient and trips into town took only about 15 minutes by car. Jason was a great guide, giving us many pointers about what to see and how to get there. Overall we had a great experience from our initial contact with Jason until the day we departed. We highly recommend this place to future visitors to Santa Fe.
“Serenity in Santa Fe”
The house is located just outside of Santa Fe which is secluded and very picturesque. Myself and two friends stayed for three nights and it was easy access to canyon road (art galleries), the Railyard and downtown. We were greeted by a beautiful basket of vegetables upon arrival from owners garden which were very delicious. The bed was comfortable and the house had a nice kitchen which we put to use for our breakfast and dinner meals. The cedar tub was an amazing amenity after a long day of sight seeing and the owner was gracious enough to let us have a sampling of his wonderful beer. All in all it was a great place to spend our weekend of art and adventure.
“Even better in person!”
This charming adobe was perfect for our family of five! There was room for all of us to spread out as we needed to for space and then come back together and enjoy our vacation. The home was very clean and cozy with darling details throughout. Jason and angela have thought of everything you could possibly need while away from home. We felt secluded in a private, rural area yet could be in Santa Fe within 10 minutes. Thank you so much for a wonderful New Mexico experience for our girls. They were able to play in the yard and roam the grounds or hide in their own bedroom playing board games. You've spoiled them and I may never get them into a hotel room again! Thanks again! “Charming home away from home”
Our family (2 adults and 2 girls 17 and 20) stayed at this lovely home away from home for 3 nights. The owners were warm and welcoming. We were greeted with a flower/herb bouquet (picked and delivered by a small child), wine and home made bread. Nearby Harry's Road House was a fabulous place to eat. The Georgia O'Keefe art Museum was disappointing in that there were very few of her pieces there. Santa Fe was charming, but really, our favorite spot was the courtyard of the rental place. This was our first stop of many and we felt very relaxed here. The owner called it "rustic" but we felt it was just rustic enough to kick back and feel at home.
“supremely hosted colorful southwestern family experience”
Angela, Jason and their family are the ultimate hosts. They are interesting, kind and generous... and have created a beautiful and comfortable home to share. The space has lovely decor and is kept clean. The landscape was alive with flowers and native terrain. We loved it and would come back in an instant if we didn't live so far away!
This is an exquisitely authentic turn -of-the-century adobe home with carefully updated charm. We had fun imagining life in the late 1800's in New Mexico. We never saw our hosts but knew they were near if needed. The bounty from their garden and wonderful bottle of wine made our long day heaven upon our return in the evening. Thanks you Kirkman's, for the use of your lovely homested. Mary and Tim Windwalker Snowflake,AZ
We loved this adorable "rustic-style" house! It was the perfect size for a family of four. Jason and angela were so hospitable and the fresh veggies from their garden were delicious. The house is only minutes from the plaza and we loved the extra space and personal touches that you just can't get from a hotel.
