“Amazing view and location!”
We stayed in room 323, with a beautiful ocean front view and balcony. The condo is in a fabulous, central location, with easy access to shopping, supermarkets, a drug store, and the highway. From this spot, we were able to get to ANYWHERE in Kauai within an hour's drive! Not bad! The condo was stocked with pretty much everything we needed and was the perfect size for us. We had sliding doors leading to the balcony which had a direct oceanfront view (i.e.: we were practically ON the beach!) and mountain views as well. Just gorgeous! This condo was extra special because it was an end unit, and had an extra window and the balcony had more space/an extra open side to the left. The unit was stocked with coolers, beach mats, guidebooks, and kitchen supplies. We left an umbrella that we bought, so for future vacationers, enjoy :) From start to finish, Brad and Wendy were so easily accessible via email and phone, when needed. When I was inquiring about the condo in the beginning of the planning stages, Brad always got back to me right away and was friendly from the very beginning. He always answered my questions quickly and we had no worries or concerns booking with him. Just some helpful hints for future vacationers: Get an ocean front room, if you can. It's SO worth it. The airport and Walmart are 10 minutes away (we are not walmart shoppers at all--but out of necessity we had to go there! So it's close by if needed); Longs Drugs/CVS is 1 minute away by car; Safeway and Foodland are 2 minutes away by car, and Payapas Natural foods (lots of organic and vegan options! Which was great for us!) is 2 minutes by car next to Safeway. There are also souvenir stores right near the complex, called the "Coconut Marketplace," and a snorkel rental place right next to the complex as well. We found an AMAZING local, organic, mostly vegan restaurant called Caffe Coco which is 2 minutes from the condo that we HIGHLY recommend. Kapaa is a charming little beach town with a downtown area full of restaurants and shops, an easy ~5 minute drive from the condo. The beach in front of the condo is beautiful but we didn't really swim there or hang out there too much, but it was SO nice to wake up to it and eat breakfast and dinner on the lanai/balcony overlooking the ocean. The pool area is also very nice, with nice shaded areas and a bar area as well. There is a path that travels along the beach in front of the condo area and neighboring hotels/condos that is also nice for walking or for a run. Parking can sometimes be kind of tricky, as the lot gets full fast, but we always had a place to park as you can also parallel park on the road leading up to the lot. Islander on the Beach's grounds are beautiful, and the place is definitely one of the nicest in the area. As stated, this (Kapaa) was an ideal, central location for traveling ALL over Kauai (and believe me, we traveled ALL over this island--sometimes going from the north shore to the south shore all in one day! It's all very easy from this location). We LOVED our stay here, and definitely recommend booking with Brad and Wendy. It could not be easier, and you will LOVE your time at the condo. We were so sad to leave. If we ever return to Kauai (we hope to!) we will book again with them.
Response from the owner Wow, thank you so much for the comprehensive review! Love it!! Mahalo nui...
“Awesome Beach, Sound of Waves on Balcony!”
We rented unit 324 from Krellers for 5 nights. They generously allowed us to stay until our plane left that night at 9:00 without extra charge. Room was exactly as pictured: right on the water's edge, on the third floor we got cool breezes from the sea, quiet a/c, clean, mini kitchen. Not a large space, but efficient. We weren't there to spend a lot of time cooking and eating in the room. Brad was easy to work with, parking a breeze, location close to everything. It's a "Condotel", half hotel and half owned by individuals. Pool was sparkling, lovely grounds, pool bar good. Concierge in hotel lobby offered a free presentation on what to do, where to go, etc. She was so helpful we booked our Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour (Amazing), Ancient River kayak/hiking tour, and a rafting trip to the Napali Coast with her. It may have been cheaper elsewhere, but it was convenient. A seafood restaurant right next door was great, as was the ice cream stand at the Coconut Marketplace, a shopping area directly in front of the parking lot.
The appartement had everything we needed: BBQ ustensils, beach seats, umbrella and boogie boards. Being on the ocean front for sunrises was amazing. And hot tub was just downstairs, perfect to enjoy cocktails while stargazing. The Krellers were very nice and accomodating. We really had a worderfull stay here. I would recommend this place without hesitation! It is a perfect spot to start exploring Kauai. Mahalo nui loa!
“Our Favorite Place to stay in Kauai”
If you are looking for the best laid back environment, in a great location for very reasonable cost, look no further than the Islander on the Beach. My wife and I have been to this island 4 times now and our visit this year to unit 324 in the Kauai building was by far our best experience. The unit is perfectly located for fantastic sunrise views from the lanai or a short walk to the sandy shore. Leave the lanai door open at night to fall asleep to that wonderful ocean breeze and sound of waves crashing. The bed was extremely comfortable. The owners provided all linens and enough supplies to get you thru the week. If you need more supplies, the grocery store is very close or you can do a trip to Walmart for anything you need. We had everything we needed to store food and prepare our meals within the room (fridge, hot plate, microwave, pots & pans, utensils, etc). When desired it was a quick walk to the gas grills located at the pool to prepare a wonderful char broiled meal. The Islander is located in the perfect location that allows convenient access to the south shores as well as the north. Yes traffic in Kapa'a can be a challenge at some times, but after a few trips out and about you quickly learn the traffic patterns. We found going south in the morning worked best. Use the bypass which is quickly accessible from the Islander. You'll soon learn about the contra flow lanes, take advantage of them once you get used to the concept. The complex has undergone a recent refresh of the exteriors of all buildings and pool area. The management is working hard at improving the already beautiful landscape. Working with the Krellers to reserve the space through their website was very simple. One note - You won't have to pay the "amenity fee" that Aston requires but this means you do not have access to their limited amenities (beach towels, free DVD checkout, laundry room access). This saved us $18 per day to use elsewhere. We didn't miss their amenities at all. We highly recommend this unit and particularly the complex to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay that doesn't cost a fortune.
“Booked for the 2nd time”
This time we came back from Germany to get married. We booked unit 329 and 252. We travel a lot around the world but we did never had such a good service. Brad and Wendy are excellent to work with. The units are very clean and calm and the ocean view is great. You can find everything you need like restaurants, rental service, supermarkets, shops and attractions. We highly recommend the condos and we will definitely come back in some years .
Stayed at Krellers Getaway at Islander on the Beach Kauai HI. We stayed 3 weeks & enjoyed this beautiful island. Brad was super to work with & helped make this a great vacation experience. The units are located on the east shore which make them centrally located to north or south. The complex is located on the beach with a pool & hot tub. Never got to use the hot tub as it is very small & was always crowded. There were grills available for use & many restaurants close. Unit was clean & comfortable. Due to a conflict between Aston & the unit owners we did not have access to on ground laundry facilities but it wasn't a big deal. There is a laundry facility within a quarter mile that was fine. You will be told not to ask the help desk for anything & that was true. Brad provides great check in instructions so that was no big deal. The big negative was parking. If you were not in by 5:30 p.m. you would have to park a distance from your room. For the price, this was a great way to see the beautiful island of Kauai.
“Great location, clean and what a view!”
The location and price for this rental cant be beat - OCEANFRONT! We loved eating breakfast on the lanai watching the whales and listening to the waves! The room was comfy and clean! The owner was great and even gave us suggestions for things to do on the island (sometimes with discounts!) The location is perfect as it is in the center of the island and its a ~half hour to both ends of the island. It is located in a town so restaurants and stores are abundant - perfect for stocking up your fridge! All in all it was a wonderful trip! We had beach chairs and umbrellas provided. We will be recommending this condo to everyone we know. We wished we lived closer to Hawaii so that we could go every year. Highly recommended!
“Amazing! Breathtaking views of the ocean right from our lanai.”
I can't even begin to say how wonderful this place was for our very first time on Kauai. We were right on the beach! We enjoyed the sound, the breeze and the amazing views of the ocean every morning as we had breakfast on the lanai. Enjoyed playing in the water (great for swimming right there!) and lounging on the beach. The central location was a great homebase for getting anywhere on the island. The unit was super clean and had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful both before we arrived and when we had a special request. Fabulous bathroom! We just enjoyed every minute of our vacation there. We loved our unit #323, top floor, end unit, and would recommend it! It's located in a resort community, so we had access to their outdoor pool and hot tub also. Snorkel gear can be rented right on site, and it's just across the parking lot from the shops at the Coconut Marketplace. Such pretty grounds! Would definitely recommend Brad and Wendy Kreller and "Kreller's Getaway!!
“Awesome place to celebrate a 60th Birthday!!!”
Third time to Kauai and third time renting a condo from Brad and Wendy. We are never disappointed, each condo is always just the way it was outlined on the site. Clean, well equipped. We will continue to rent condos and suggest you do too you won't be disappointed!!
Beautiful view from the room. Could hear the ocean. Beautiful sunrises in the morning. Comfortable bed and pillows. Enjoyed the hot tub. Within walking distance of so many restaurants and shopping.
