“Friendly and comfortable”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2013

After travelling for sometime it was wonderful to stay in a clean comfortable place where I felt like a real person rather than another number. The family was lovely and helpful and I enjoyed playing with the children. Although the location was a bit out of the way it was nice to be someplace calm and quiet. Transport was arranged and was very reasonable. I had the downstairs room which was more than suited my needs, but the upstairs apartment is beautiful and ideal for a couple.

“nice place and nice people”

We spent a few nights here last Jan/Feb, on recommendation of a friend it, lived up to their recommendation, in every way, we will never forget the lovely ladies. and a lovely room, and lovely hot water. also the home cooked food. easy access to town.

“A very good experience”

We rent the appartment for only two nights but it was all very good. Very spacious and clean. Divya was very helpful and kind. We have to take the tuc tuc to the centre, but they are very easy to find. There was a book with opinions and information about the city from other travellers.

“Lovely Mysore Experience...”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2012

We loved it, a delightful location, a village atmosphere but close to all the wonderful places to be seen in Mysore. We loved sitting on the balcony and seeing everyday life going on below in the street. The apartment is clean, bright, with beautiful, restful decor. The family provided great Indian food if needed and everything to make our stay perfect. Our third visit to Mysore but our first opportunity to stay as a guest of a lovely Indian family.

“Mid trip R & R”

Reviewed 29 May 2012

We stayed the last two weeks of October 2011 as a break and chance to rest during our mid September to mid November asian, Indian travels. A neighborhood experience is not only better than a hotel, but also less expensive. The Damodaran family welcomed us and took good care of us. The apartment was large, clean, and we enjoyed some of Mrs. Damodaran's cooking. I shopped at the market and prepared light meals, and we settled into a nice routine of shopping and sightseeing. A local man named Babu provides auto rickshaw service for the host's guests, and when we ventured farther, they recommended a driver with a car. The location is around twenty to thirty minutes from city center. It wasn't a problem because we had Babu, but a Rotarian was discouraged from visiting me because "unlike in the us, we were too far away in the suburbs". There is a shopping area nearby where we took our laptop to hook up at an internet place. It was easier than using our host's computer. During festival time, we watched fireworks from our roof balcony. It was pretty intense, like rocket shells. Our friends from Davangare came to visit and Mr. and Mrs. Damodaran and their grandson joined us for delicious treats. Her daughters gave me shopping tips, and Mrs. Damodaran gave me the newspaper article she spotted with my photo taken at a Rotary meeting. Very nice family, not fancy, but nice apartment... What we liked least: many brownouts; that's why everyone seems to have large back up batteries. No air conditioning, just a fan in the bedroom. I worried for my husband, but he seemed to be comfortable enough. Trust. We trusted we would have a room, and they trusted we would show up. I kept emailing telling them where we were. We enjoyed our stay in Mysore. When I was shopping downtown, a clerk said he recognized me because I lived in his neighborhood. Oh yes, during our stay, we watched a house being built next door.

“Delightful homestay”

The apartment was spotless and had all the facilities we needed. The family could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts were very good and we had a delicious chicken biryani one evening.

“Charming and cosy guesthouse to be recommended!”

Reviewed 26 May 2012

Good service, very sweet family that owns the place. Not that steady in english, but they managed. Most sweet and charming guesthouse we experienced on our trip! The location is a little outside the city, but a nice tuk tuk driver took us around. Be sure to choose the big room in second floor, so nice, and you have your own kitchen and livingroom, and terrace. :)

“Best guesthouse ever!”

Reviewed 25 May 2012

i spent 5 nights in Mysore in this wonderful guesthouse! It´s the perfect place, spotlessly clean, peaceful, quite in a nice residential area with a beautiful rooftop where you could roll out your yogamatt in the morning and relax in the evening after adventurous days in the bustling city centre. But the best are the owners who are so friendly, caring, generous and helpful and they made the best indian breakfast i´ve had during my three month trip! A very recommendable place! Thank you very much!
