Very Good

“Beautiful place, very comfortable, and good location.”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

This is a beautiful house with lots of room and it is well taken care of. We really enjoyed the hot tub and feeding the chipmunks. It was a nice convenience that we were able to use the garage with a garage door opener. We found the location of the house was ideal for getting to lots of activities around the lake. We had a wonderful stay.

“Wonderful house that is very convenient”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

We had a family of ten staying three nights. The house is very spacious and located very close to beaches, bike trails, and grocery stores. Our only complain was with the water in the bathroom. Water pressure was too low, and hot water ran out quickly if two people take shower/bath at the same time.

“Most awesome and relaxing time spent with my children and grandc”

It was great fun according to my grandson, he states we will be back soon...There was something for everyone. House was wonderful, plenty of room for all of us. Well stocked, beautifully decorated and so relaxing. Had a great time!!!

“Comfortable and relaxing for a family of 5”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2013

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean and spacious. It was built in 2006 so most things looked pretty good. It has a big garage too, if you are so inclined to use it. We were with our 2 adult daughters and one boyfriend also. We did not use the loft bedroom, but I think its a good spot for children to sleep, adults would have no privacy. The beds were pretty comfy and the bathrooms were ok, we had some minor issues in the beginning and the maintenance was handled very promptly and satisfactorily (and this was Christmas week, we were impressed). The kitchen desperately needs a new toaster and some better pots and pans. We took a sharp knife from home with us which we needed. We bought a griddle while we were there and left it as there was nothing to fry eggs on. But there was pretty much everything else one needs in a kitchen though we never did find the cutting board. There's no cocktail shaker or martini glasses wine glasses are limited if you are fussy. There were napkins, matches & ziplocks; also extension cords and toilet plungers (3 at least!) in the laundry room under the sink in the back, and some basic tools in there too I think. We enjoyed the fireplace but it made a constant hum, very annoying when things were quiet. We felt the shower in the master bedroom downstairs needed a new shower head and I think my daughter said the same for the ensuite upstairs too. That is a very minor detail though. There were a lot of towels and the laundry room was awesome to have. The hot tub was great, we did attempt to use the grill but could not get it to light and just gave up. We walked to Gar Woods several nights and enjoyed good cocktails there and I would recommend their mussels among other things. They were sooo good! Drove to Spindleshanks one night and we were all like "Meh." about that place. The entire experience at the Olive Branch was a positive one and we would definitely recommend this house to anyone. We would stay there again.

“Very Lovely! Parts are oversold”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2012

Great layout.. open floor plan-kitchen to living room with balcony and backyard on either side was fabulous. Lots of full bathrooms, backyard fenced in made me feel safer for the family and dogs, couches in the living were great, lots of seating, beds were comfortable (once you get used to the plastic mattress cover), showers nice and big, lots of towels, hot tub is nice and it is very pretty to sit outside and look at the trees and stars at night. Great location... one block to Gar Woods, easy drive to Incline or Tahoe City. The description is a little oversold: 1) Claims to sleep 10 but that would mean two adults have to share tiny beds in the loft, the dining room table only seats 6, the outdoor table only seats 4... Sleeps/supports 8 (max) would be a more accurate statement. 2) Gourmet kitchen? While it looks nice, it has several insufficiencies. Only one cutting board that is hard to find, knives are as dull as marbles, very few other kitchen tools you'd expect to find in a proclaimed "gourmet" kitchen, toaster only toasts one side of your bread, etc 3) Not enough dishware for a house that claims to sleep 10. Only 5 wine glasses, 8 dinner plates, etc 4) TV in the living room is tiny! Way too small for that room and too high.. Should swap the Tv's in the living room and office 5) Master Bath Jacuzzi tub doesn't work 6) Not enough hot water (Hot water heater is very small for a house that claims to support 10 people) we had 5 adults and had to delay taking showers to let the hot water heat up. Overall, I enjoyed our stay and the house is great. I just think they charge a little too much for it. If they fixed some of the items listed above I'd say the price is right.

“Great house - just needs a few minor improvements”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2012

We have stayed at this house twice now, and really do love it! It's in a great location - close to Tahoe City, Northstar, Incline area, grocery, shopping, and walking distance to Garwood's Restaurant. The house is decorated so nicely! I feel just like I am at home there. The only thing I would recommend is that they do something about the master bed. The first time we stayed there, I wound up sleeping in a different room because it is so uncomfortable. It was the same situation a year and a half later (just this past June). There are also just some other minor things they could fix due to aging, but nothing that is a huge annoyance. I would definitely recommend this house - well worth a stay!

“Comfortable elegance”

Reviewed 28 May 2012

We had a great time @ the Olive Branch house -- the kitchen was fully stocked, the layout was fantastic and the hot tub was very necessary and well-kept. It worked really well for a party of 3 families with 4 kids each. Probably the only thing that could have been better was the lack of hand soap and bath mat in the upstairs bathroom (not in suite) and enough laundry detergent, since renters are asked to wash a load of any extra towels/linens used before leaving.

We loved this house! I really enjoyed it with our good friends. We would stay there with my parents and the kids too. It felt very cozy to us; loved the open floor plan! We also loved how close it is to Gar Woods:) Not too far from North Star either.

“Very Relaxing and Comfy!!!”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2012

The property is very nice thank you for opening your home to us. Property location is very accessible. We love everything about the home except the open room, maybe a curtain or blinds should be put in there for a little bit of privacy because people coming up from the stairs could see whoever staying in that room. Our stay is very relaxing and comfy but most of my friends are complaining about the hot water supply. We tried using the hot tub but the water temperature is only 88 degrees and we tried to change the water temp but it only says error. In general, I still recommend the place and we will go back for sure in the future.

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to review the Olive Branch home. Overall, we are very happy you enjoyed your stay. To respond to your issues with the home: Most of our homes, are equipped with standard hot water heaters, that unfortuantely, may not be able to keep up with the vacation rental usage of 10 guests without a lapse in time. We ask guests to please be patient in this matter or schedule usage accordingly. As for the hot tub, it sounds like it may have been inadvertently set to an "economy" or "sleep" mode. This can happen if you are unfamiliar with the tub and press the wrong buttons. In the future, please be sure to contact the office, if you experience ANY issues with one of our hot tubs. We are here 7 days/week. All of agents are versed in troubleshooting these issues. Thanks again and we look forward to working with you again!

“Nice, newer house in a good location”

Reviewed 25 Jan 2012

What we liked: Nice, newer furnishings throughout. Great room w/ kitchen, dining room and living room with gas fireplace. Wonderful hot tub on the deck with stars above and pretty strings of lights on the deck. The interior garages made parking very easy. All of the bathrooms for very nice. Beds are comfortable. Very comfortable for a small group. cons: Kitchen wasn't very well stocked for cooking and eating, i.e. not too many dishes, pots and pans and accessories. Gas grill wasn't working. It turned on, but wouldn't heat up. Hot water ran out quickly, so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely master bathroom tub. Loft "bedroom" is too noisy to use as a bedroom.
