“Pure Bliss”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2014

This is our second vacation with Jamaica Escapes and I am even more pleased than the first vacation (which got 5 stars). The property is absolutely gorgeous. From the inside of the home, to the Patio/Pool area, to the beach that is just steps from the pool. The location is very safe and most nights slept with the door to the patio open. Jennifer and Monica were nothing short of awesome. Jennifer takes a lot of pride in her cooking and you get a full table set when you sit down to eat, i did not expect that and was definitely a treat. The only draw back on Jennifer's cooking is its so good, you might eat too much. Ask her for her "Rum Drunk" and her Callaloo . Jaykee is a real cool guy, very laid back and for the most part stayed out of the way. From time to time he would clean the pool out for us (several times daily) and have small talk, but was mainly caring for the grounds and doing chores. Monica is the life of the party and a lot of fun. Great conversation and a beautiful soul. I could go on and on, but my wife and I are planning to come back to Bliss by the Sea next year. The beach is beautiful, with good waves and not busy at all. Might see 5-6 people in the morning, beyond that its rare to see people on the beach. We hiked Pedro's Bluff, got a Massage from Shirley's Steambath (the steambath and massage were great), and went to Jack Sprats multiple times. Their jerk crab and homeade ice cream is great. Finally I love dealing with Tiverton House. Nicole is awesome, this property came as a suggestion from her for our group of 6 (3 couples) and it was perfect. Thanks again Nicole and will call you in a few months to arrange our next trip!

“Truly Bliss By The Sea!”

What an amazing time! This property is beautiful! Literally, right off of the beach (and what a great beach it is). It feels like it's your own private beach since there is hardly anyone around. Beautiful, large pool and lounge chairs right outside your windows. I loved being able to open up all of the rooms, waking up to the ocean and then eating delicious breakfast prepared by Jennifer. Everything is kept up very well by Jennifer and Jaykie, from the rooms to the pool and the yard. There is a really nice gazebo in the yard too, with extra seating and a hammock. Great place to read and enjoy the sounds of the waves and the birds. There is also an outdoor shower right next to the pool to rinse off after you take a dip in the ocean. We were completely comfortable. Jennifer cooked wonderful Jamaican dishes at our request. Since you're in a fishing village, she can even have fresh seafood caught next door and she'll cook it for you! She is so sweet and kind! Treasure Beach is a really amazing area of Jamaica and I'd recommend it for anyone who'd love to experience the true Jamaica, without so many tourists. It's very safe, so don't worry about that. Plus, they can arrange for a driver to take you on a day trip to Negril if you'd like to spend some time in a busier environment while you're there. Even though Negril is beautiful and fun, you'll definitely appreciate Treasure Beach even more when you get back! I'm glad we only spent a day trip there. We were close enough to walk over to Pedro Bluff for a hike or towards some of the other beach areas nearby. After walking around and seeing the other resorts, we knew that we picked the best one. Also, I'd like to point out that Nicole from Tiverton House was so helpful and kind to us while preparing for our stay. She made great recommendations and made us feel at ease about things before we got there. She also followed up to make sure that everything went well. It was an incredible trip! We'll definitely be back!

“Perfect!!!”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2013

The minute we stepped on the property we were caught up in the magic and the beauty of Bliss By The Sea. Our party of 6 (4 adults 2 children age 4 and 7) felt right at home. We went swimming and body boarding just a few steps from the villa, fishing a few times from the shore, a boat trip to Pelican Bar, lunch at Jack Sprats (awesome shrimp pizza). ...but enough about that. Lets talk about the villa...Wow!!! We were spoilt rotten by Jennifer, Jaykee and Monica...what wonderful people they are!... The food prepared by Jennifer and Monica was top notch...jerked chicken/curried lobster/brown stewed chicken...yummm! We felt safe here thanks to Jaykee and while out and about we found the people of Treasure Beach friendly and caring and full of love. The beds were very comfortable...various areas to relax (front patio/back patio/poolside/chairs at the end of the pool/living room/tv area/sitting area in master bedroom/gazebo/beach)...an area for just about every need. We have stayed at many villas in Jamaica and various places in the world and by far this is our favourite. We will definitely be back. Tip...rent a car if you can.

“Quiet, stillness, total relaxation with superb on site service”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2013

Great meals, flexible as per our requirements Never seen a finer beach. Occasionally we would have liked a bit of shopping closer at hand, but finally, the silence was preferable. Great TV service - even got a few Toronto hockey games, bedrooms very comfortable without being too fancy. Loved the pool and beach combo. Used both daily. A broken frig was replaced immediately. Amazing service. Another time, I might rent a car for 2-3 days so we could explore a bit more. All in all, one of the best holidays ever.

“Honeymoon Bliss”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2013

Our days at Bliss were the perfect start to our marriage. For persons who want to get away from the scheduled life of resorts, this is the place to be. Unlike resort life, everything here happens on your time. Eat, sleep, swim whenever you want. The path leading to the property was a bit misleading as its a small dirt track flanked by bushes. However, once you go through the gates you are greeted with amazing views. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and accommodative staff who by the end of our visit became family. The large courtyard and open living spaces give the property a very inviting feel. Not to mention the comfortable couch and hammock that hugs you. As the days progressed it became evident it was going to be hard to leave this place. My husband and I had a wonderful time doing absolutely nothing. Whether on the beach which was footsteps away or by the pool, we were in total bliss. Best honeymoon we could have ever asked for. Looking forward to our next visit.

“Total relaxing and re energizing few days”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2012

Service was good. Villa amenities / facilities were very good. The location of the villa is excellent - direct access to the Great Bay beach. Liked the laid back, undisturbed "feel" of the place. Villa is appropriately furnished for the setting. Great holiday. Looking forward to returning soon.

“Total Relaxation”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2011

This was a vacation of total relaxation. Jennifer and Jaykee are very, very concerned about the security and comfort of their guests. They go above and beyond to let you enjoy the house itself and the surrounding area, while advising you what to do and what to avoid. If anything Jennifer is overprotective. You can be completely at ease in this house and area with Jennifer to guide you. The pool is devine and was the highlight of the house for us. We only had 4 guests, but even if you had 8-10 the house and patio has room to spread out.We just got lazier every day we stayed.Really enjoyed the trip to Black River and Pelican Bar that Jennifer arranged with John.We went to Jack Sprat's, but Jennifer's cooking was better. The trip from Montego Bay to Treasure Beach is like a National Geographic road trip, rain forest, bamboo forest, cows & goats on the road and us in Mr. Hibberts van drinking some Red Stripes.Hate to tell everyone else what a great place it is, as we would like to keep it our secret, but that would be selfish. We will be returning, the only question is when!

“A Peaceful Paradise Off The Beaten Path”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2011

This is a perfect and quiet alternative to the all inclusive mega resort scene and I highly recommend Bliss By The Sea. Both the property & friendly, competent staff provided everything we wanted and the consensus is that this was "the best family vacation ever?. Treasure Beach is a developing tourist area. There are other homes & small fishing villages on the most beautiful coastline of sandy beaches, tidal pools & low, dune covered cliffs. The property's beachfront is just steps away & although it's not marked as a private beach, except for a few people walking by or a small fishing boat unloading the catch of the day, it was peaceful, quiet, & clean. The water is crystal clear and warm. The home itself is lovely & has a true island feel with beautiful hardwood shutters and doors. When opened, the entire home seamlessly transitions to the courtyard, tiled veranda, pool, & spectacular views beyond. No matter where you are at Bliss, the sounds of the surf will follow you. There are ample, comfortable shady areas when you want to get out of the sun. The beds are comfortable, ceiling fans provide great circulation, & although there are mosquito nets over the beds & bedroom air conditioners, we needed none. Better quality towels for both bath & beach are provided. When it's mealtime at Bliss, there's no need to dress up, wait in lines, or wait for food. Fabulous Jennifer simply lets you know when her great fare is ready. Take advantage of pre-departure meal planning & food shopping. Jennifer takes care of it all & everything was delicious. As the mom in our family I was delighted to have meal shopping, planning, cooking & clean up all taken care of. That was a real vacation! It made me feel like a kid too - knowing meal prep was happening while I was relaxing & all I had to do was arrive at the table hungry. Overall: Great value for a private vacation paradise. We're booking a week for 2012 & that's the best reference I could ever give.

“perfect vacation from the ice and snow”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2011

If you're looking for a very relaxing vacation on a quaint Caribbean beach this is the place. Jennifer, the cook/house keeper made us feel very welcome and she can really cook. She'd buy our fresh fish and lobster from the fisherman right next door. So fresh,we'd help pull the boat out of the ocean before buying our stuff. The surrounding area is perfect for exploring.Good waves for body surfing most days.I'd highly recommend a trip up the Black River with a stop on the way back at the pelican bar on a sand bar. Not much in the way of night life but we didn't mind. Bob Marley cd going, moon high in the sky and relaxing beside and in the the pool was night life enough for us. We felt safe and welcomed by all the locals. We'll be going back someday!

Response from the manager I spoke with the reviewer Al, and the 4 star on services was Not for the staff's service (he would give them a 5 Star), but for the issues he had with using his travelers checks in Treasure Beach.
