“Retired Active Couple”
Manarola is uniquely beautiful. However it is important to know it is not suitable for anyone not fit and relatively able bodied. A wonderful unspoilt village that clings to the mountainside and descends steeply to the sea. lots of walking involved in your daily routine. My wife and I stayed in Studio Lucio, which was more of a small apartment and was ideal for the two of us. Because Manarola is one of the Cinque Terre it become a little too overcrowded during the day due to the influx of daytrippers but the early mornings and evenings are great. There is always room in the bars and restaurants of which there are numerous. Great food and service is the norm.
We had a great stay here. Amazing view and perfect location for exploring in the Cinque Terre. We will definitely be coming back! (Only downside is shower. Your supposed to sit down in it, you can stand if you want but it does make it difficult not to get water everywhere if you stand. So if this important to you, chose somewhere else)
This studio has a stunning view from the bedroom and terrace and that was a huge plus. The management company was efficient, friendly, easy to deal with. But the studio does not appear to be well looked after. I would not have minded the unusual bath/shower arrangement had half the water not run out of the tap instead of the shower head, and the holder for the shower head actually worked. As it was showering involved sitting in a bath holding a shower head There was only one glass in the kitchen and one wine glass, nothing to use to make coffee (the one coffee maker was designed for a stove -- there is no stove top), and a microwave would have been useful. I mentioned some of these things to the person in the management office, and was thanked for reporting them -- apparently no-one else had -- but it shouldn't be the role of incoming guests to point these things out. Re cleanliness, guests are asked to do the dishes and leave them drying before leaving -- so to some extent how clean dishes are depends on the previous guests. Generally, level of cleanliness was just acceptable. Finally, one wall had a lot of peeling paint. Any one of these things, I probably wouldn't comment on but collectively, they led to a less than satisfactory experience. The studio has a tired feeling -- a pity given the views and the service, and that it could so easily be "fresh" with a little attention.
“Awesome view and location, sweet and practical apartment”
We (couple 26/31) arrived just after Easter to relax and have day hikes, ended up extending to 5 days. Manarola generally and the apartment specifically are the perfect location. Manarola is small enough (not too touristy), beautiful and greatly located for hikes in all directions, easy to get back by train every day. The view from the apartment is amazing - specifically you see the sea and shoreline right from bed, waking up to the most stunning view. The furniture etc is ok, good enough. The sofa sits in a larger hallway (there is not really an additional bedroom) which is very practical to leave your shoes, stuff, etc. WiFi works. Two backdraws: Thin walls (but was ok), small sitting-shower without a shower curtain. I didn t know these still exist. You end up standing in the shower and the floor being all wet, but somewhat funny and doesn t really matter. In terms of service and check-in: We arrived rather late and they were very helpful, gave us a train connection and simply offered to leave the key; check-out took 2 minutes on Sunday. Great value for money, I recommend it.
We had a party of five, rented two apartments. They were both excellent. A bit worn but very clean. Staff very accommodating. Excellent location. Beautiful views from terrace of both apartments. Highly recommend a stay here.
ArbaSpaa is in the Center of Manarola, near the railway station. Officers are polite and mindful, service was good. Apartman is on the central location on the hillside, well equipped, silent. The railway station is only 5 minutes walk from the apartman. The panorama was excellent, great wiew to the sea, rocks and hills. The bed is very comfortable, the sheet is new and clean. We liked the service, we can't say any bad opinion. We would recommend it to other travellers, who not afraid of go up hill side.
We enjoyed our time in Manarola. It is a beautiful spot that is well worth the effort to explore. However, our stay in Studio Lucio was only average. Although it is in a beautiful location and has a wonderful view from the balcony, the Studio itself is becoming worn and is in need of a makeover. The lack of a shower is especially disappointing and the cracked sink and the ants on the walls don't help the ambiance in the bathroom. There are numerous loose floor tiles and the overall cleanliness was lacking. Having a fridge, a toaster and a kettle did make breakfast very easy.
“Great views of Le Cinque Terre”
Overall the accommodation was fair. It was comfortable but had a few small problems. The shower was very small and difficult for older people to get into and out of as it had a seat in a bath with a hand shower. Also they were too lousy to leave enough toilet paper for the 3 days of our stay. Everything was clean and the receptionist was very friendly who took us up to the apartment
This apartment was perfect for our stay in the Cinque Terre. Manarola is charming, and not as crowded as some of the other towns. The apartment is quiet, and overlooks the town and the sea. We ate dinner every night on the small balcony.
“A timelife experience”
We were so lucky to choose Studio Lucio for our four days stay in Cinque Terre. The location is magnificent on the top of the village, with a fantastic view to the sea and Manarola harbour. Very easy to reach in the village center and at the train station. Lots of thanks for the people of arbaspaa.
