“Fantastic View”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

Though the balcony is small, the view from this place was incredible! We enjoyed sipping wine at sunset :) The place fit the two of us just fine, I can see how it would be a tight squeeze for four people, but doable. The space was not as clean as I would have hoped, considering there is a cleaning fee for guests, but it worked. WIFI worked just fine, and we used the wash and that was quite helpful. One night, we locked ourselves out of the apartment and the gentleman at the tobacco shop called the after-hours number for us at 10:30 (we didn't have working phones) and the girl had the spare keys to us within minutes, that was so helpful and we were very thankful!

Great location to everything. Clean, well catered apartment. Would definitely stay there again. ( character minimum)

“Cinque Terre beauty”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2013

Notwithstanding the fact the terrain around any of the Cinque Terre villages is steep... and decidedly up to our apartment... it gave us the spectacular view that we expected. Cute apartment with everything very clean and in working order. A lovely little balcony looking north along the coast. As you walk north on the Cinque Terre trail you can look back and take a photo ( its on all the local post cards ) of the village and identify the balcony high in the village. Your friends will say... too

“Nice apartment with amazing view”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2013

Nice apartment with 2 bedrooms and kitchen, small bathroom and balcony. Location is farely central, after a few days you get used to the climbing and the steps. We encountered some problems with malfunctions and cleanliness, Arbaspaa tried to solve them and helped us in a very kind way. All together we enjoyed our stay a lot, not in the last place because of the view over the sea and the village.

We were really looking forward to our stay at this apartment having stayed in similar accommodation in the past and having visited the Cinque Terre a couple of times before. First impressions were good. The staff working in the arbaspaa office were very pleasant and the 'check in' went smoothly although no assistance was offered with our bags. The apartment is located up a very steep path then about 15 steps and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The apartment itself is quite nicely fitted out although it is tiny and if you were a large person you may not fit on the toilet or in the shower. What was disappointing was the general state of the apartment. It felt uncared for and was not clean. There was dirty dishwater still in the sink. There were old towels, probably from the last guests shoved in one of the cupboards and crumbs on the chairs, benches and outside tables. No welcome amenities were provided apart from a spare roll of toilet paper and a part used bottle of hotel shampoo. No soap, sugar or any small basics. These things make the difference. The utensils in the kitchen area were not very clean. The two small bedroom have reasonably comfortable double beds and amazing views. The balcony from the main bedroom is tiny and barely useable. Please note, there is no air conditioning and only one pedestal fan. It was hot when we were there and difficult to sleep as you needed to have the doors to balcony and windows wide open at night and the noise from the square in town was significant until around midnight or 1am. Trattoria dal Billy is just up the path and is a must do for dinner. In summary, Manarola is a lovely little town but our experience of this accommodation was a let down.

“Great 2 bedroom apartment with a fantastic view”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

Anna at arbaspaa was fantastic, sent clear instruction and advice before we arrived and gave us great tips on what to see and do in the area. The apartment had a really good view of the harbour, town and hillside and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets from the balcony. Manarola was a great base to visit the 5 towns. Anna arranged a private lock up garage for our car and we left it there for the duration of our stay. Manarola has easy access to trains and ferries. Loved the Cinque Terre, loved the town, loved the apartment. We will be back.

“Magnificent View apartment!!!”

This was a great apartment - a spacious two bedroom with a truly magnificent ocean view.

“Great location--amazing views!”

Manarola is a cute, quaint town which reminded me of the scene in Beauty and the Beast (Little town it's quiet village). The apartment is gorgeous, clean and well equipped. The staff were very accomodating. We arrived after office hours and they sent Stefano to meet us and bring us to the apt at no extra cost. The terrace is the cherry on the top, there we ate our breakfast the two mornings we were there while taking in the breathtaking views. We hung out in the evening at the local pub where they have live music every night. For me the only problem with our stay in Manarola was that it was too short!

“Breathtaking views, comfortable and perfect!”

Apartment Castello was perfect for my husband and I on our honeymoon. We loved Manorala and this spot was our best experience in Italy. The view is exactly how the pictures portray and more. If you are looking for a small, comfortable and easily accessible location. This will exceed your expectations.

“Appartamento Castello... Simply amazing!”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2012

From the moment I arrived at Manarola the team at arbaspaa looked after me and made me feel welcome - even if I did have trouble finding their office to begin with. And I wasn't disappointed with apartment Castello either, it was amazing - clean, bright, private, modern, fantastic view and perfect location. The bed was very comfortable (great pillows), the kitchen had everything you need, there was a washing machine for laundry (thank goodness!) and even during the height and heat of an august summer the apartment was always fresh and cool, the perfect place to walk into after a hot, sweaty, sticky hike during the day. Sitting on the balcony was one of my favourite things - listening to the locals go about their daily chatter or hearing the kids laughing and playing in the piazza below, drinking a glass of wine and nibbling on snacks while enjoying the spectacular view watching the sun go down over the ocean... bliss. The location was also great. It's private as you have a hill opposite you with gardens and vines (its the one that lights up at Christmas) and no other apartments looking in, up or down on your apartment (except the one you can see on the left of the balcony which always has the curtains drawn anyway). From the main street near the harbour there are 168 stairs up to the apartment door (great for the glutes) - but that's only if you take that route. There's also an easy ramp to walk up from the train station with only about 20 or so stairs if you'd prefer. In fact there are about 6 different ways you can get to the apartment and each one takes you through a cute character filled lane, a great way to explore the town of Manarola. I'd easily recommend both apartment Castello and the team at arbaspaa. They made my trip to the Cinque Terre the best part of my Italian holiday... and yes I will be back.
