“Great week of exploring, hiking/climbing, and reconnecting from”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2013

Our family of four, with young adult kids found this to be a very comfortable vacation home. We received all the information in advance we needed to find the house easily and get in when we arrived. A nice welcome basket and a binder of helpful information was in the home. The views from the home were lovely and the night sky from the loft bedroom was amazing! The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and even a full spice drawer, charcoal for the grill, and a few other basics. There was plenty of sleeping space with a king, queen, twin bunk beds, a futon, and a roll away - we didn't need it all but for a bigger group there were a lot of options. The king bed upstairs was quite firm, which led us to use the futon some nights. The home was clean and comfortable. Be prepared that cell phones don't work until you get closer to Estes Park. There is wireless internet which worked fine most days. We visited Rmnp through the Wild Basin entrance, which was a few minutes away, for hikes and bouldering. We also drove into Estes Park and the other Rmnp entrances most days to hike or for dinner - the drive was only about 15 minutes. The location is great if you want to be a little removed from the town. The drive up between Lyons and allenspark was beautiful. In a week, we ran out of time trying to do everything we wanted, but had a wonderful time.

“Perfect”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

perfect stay. There was only 2 of us. We originally were looking for smaller cabins but none available. Very quiet & peaceful. great location, short drive to all areas. Can't hike right from the grounds but nice walks/runs around the "neighborhood." Comfortable & clean. only downfall was not having a bathroom in loft sleeping area but can't have everything.

“Enjoy nature's quiet beauty.”

Making reservations was easy. A phone call and your ready to go. The home was clean, spacious, and had every ammenity. The location was perfect. All attractions a short drive for each day we ventured out. The best time we had was laying around the cabin. In the morning out on the deck, with all the mountains and pine trees surrounding us, just lying in the sun. The privacy of the cabin make you feel like it's just you and nature.

“Solitude is a breath of fresh air!”

My family and I stayed at Solitude from Christmas to New Years and found it charming. We were very pleased with the openness of the house and the fantastic views from the full wall of windows looking out at the mountains. The location is perfect if you are looking for a true Rocky Mountain experience. It is close to Estes Park but it feels like you are in a true mountain getaway. The house was clean and well kept and my teenaged kids liked the wireless internet so they were not too cut off from their friends and Facebook world. Bring a good book and good hiking boots and enjoy.
