“The views will sweep you away!”
The apartment was just as promised. The views were sweeping - 360 degrees - and will knock your socks off! It was hard to drink it all in. If you are going for view, then this is the place you want. The greeter explained things very well and later sent someone to help us open the sofa-bed when we couldn't figure it out. The location was great - very close to restaurants, shops, excellent gelato, and the Ponte Vechio We are in our late 60's and had no trouble walking everywhere in the historical district, or negotiating the hill to the apartment. We even walked to Il Latini, our favorite restaurant of our whole 3-week trip. Don't miss it! I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to anyone. They were very responsive and sent us lots of good information that I made use of (about telephones, adaptors, etc.)
Response from the manager Thank you very much for your kind review! We agree, the view really is amazing! Please visit us again! The Italy Perfect Team.
“Our week in Florence”
Oct 2013 The amore apartment in Florence can be described in two words: view and location. The view from the terraces is amazing and the location is near to the central attractions of Florence, but tucked away on a quiet street. Our greeter was friendly and informative and the apartment is clean and comfortable. We stayed in Europe in Vrbo's for a month and at this price point, the only improvements I would suggest for the amore apartment are: stock the kitchen with some basic condiments, oil, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. and improve the bedding. Italy perfect was easy to work with and even emailed us ahead of time to warn us that the world cycling event was in Florence that week and helped us to make some dinner reservations. I would recommend them highly. Richard and Judy , Salem, Oregon
Response from the manager Thank you very much, please come again.
“Amazing but true”
With all the positive comments, great photographs, and video clip all showing how great this apartment is, our expectations were pretty high. Our expectations were beaten the minute we walked in. Quite simply, this place is wonderful. In short, every good and positive word in these reviews is true. And I don't recognise any of the less-positive comments: the furniture was perfectly comfortable and we had no problems with the lift. We loved this place. We will go back to it.
Response from the manager Thank you, Andy. It is so wonderful you could truly enjoy this special place. - Pat, Italy Perfect
“Amore for the view and location!”
We spent 11 wonderful days in the apartment in June 2013 and were not disappointed. It was as promised, quiet and with a superb view from every terrace and window that included additional landmarks too numerous to mention on the website. The apartment is small, and, Italy being Italy, has its charms and quirks which we expected. We made ourselves at home and became part of the neighborhood. The laundry (Lavanderia) in the small piazza at the base of the hill is convenient and all of our clothes came back with the tag "Lorenzo" because I had joked that my husband was my own Lorenzo the Magnificent! (We did not waste our time with the washing machine in the apartment as it takes too long.) Three places not to miss: Il Papiro on Via Dè Guicciardini between the Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace for a demonstration and shopping, the best gelato in Florence at the Gelateria Eporio at Ponte Santa Trinita on the Oltrarno side (it's not too far to walk at any time of day), and please at least have lunch at Ristorante del Fagioli, Corso dei Tintori, 47-r for an all-around Italian experience in dining. The restaurant is small and crowded, but the brothers are talented in the kitchen and aim to please. I'll visit their menu in my dreams. I would recommend Italy Perfect's amore to anyone willing to settle for just enough space in order to enjoy the best views in Florence. I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect and will use their services for future rentals. Our greeter was wonderful and even helped my husband carry our bags and set up wifi. The one blip that we had, trouble with a window that would not stay closed, was addressed promptly, even though it was not able to be repaired promptly. In no way did that mar our vacation or should it mar this review.
Response from the manager Happy to hear you enjoyed the fabulous views. They really are special. Our best to you and Lorenzo the Magnificent! Thank you from the Italy Perfect Team.
“An apartment Called amore”
If you love Florence so much you want to reach out and embrace it, this is the perfect apartment. The city is so close, the view so panoramic that you feel you can touch the Duomo. Sunsets and moon rises are spectacular. Yet while ever so close to the heart of Florence, Amore is incredibly quiet--tranquil, really. The various paths from the center are steep, especially when toting groceries from the nearby (and fabulous) Conad, with high quality take-out and produce. The terraces are ideal for candlelit dinners overlooking Florence. If you can tear yourself away, there are many great restaurants (try "J" on Borgo San Jacopo) and the hike up Costa San Giorgio leads past Galileo's house to the Boboli, the Belvedere and beyond to arceti. You feel like you're walking back in time--but watch out for speeding cars! If you're traveling alone, you will never feel lonely here. But amore is best shared with someone you love in a city for lovers.
Response from the manager Who could say it better!
“I love with amore apartment”
For our 10th anniversary, we stayed at the amore. It is a beautiful apartment that reflects Florence back to you from every angle in every room. If you aren't gazing out a window, you're catching the reflection of that scene in a cleverly placed mirror - and that's before you ever head outside to one of the three terraces. We loved sitting with the windows open between the kitchen and the front terrace with views of the Duomo. While one of us cooked (with a view) the other could sit at the comfortable table on the terrace, planning the day while we chatted back and forth. This communication between the kitchen and the terrace was wonderful for preparing meals and still being together! For sunsets we preferred the top terrace with 360 degree views. We never even made it to Piazzale Michelangelo - the views from our terrace were wonderful and much more private! The bedroom terrace was very lovely for morning relaxation. The amore is located across the arno, but just up from Ponte Vecchio, so it is easily accessible to everything but just enough removed to provide a little escape from the crazy tourist scene. For future visits, I don't think we would be happy staying anywhere else but the amore apartment - it was perfect for us and we wondered where else we could find such views with so much privacy and such easy access to everything? Amore has all that 2 people need for a week or two stay: an elevator (helpful for carrying up groceries and after the climb up the hill to the apartment), a well equipped but quite small kitchen, washing machine (dryer is in the basement, we were told), tub and shower, nice linens, hairdryer, big flat-screen TV (though we never turned it on!), sound system, etc.
“Amazing Views of Florence”
We spent one week at the amore apartment visitng our daughter who was studying there. The views from the apartment are breathtaking. She recommended we stay on the other side of the arno and we were grateful for that advice. This apartment was out of the hustle and crowds but only a few minutes walk to the Ponte Vecchio and 10 minutes from the Duomo. We hosted our daughter and friends to a dinner where we cooked and they all commented on the beauty (and of course the views) as well as the fact you could hear birds sing. It is on a hill so if you have trouble walking it may difficult. The neighborhod is great lots of good restaurants nearby. I would absolutely recommend this place.
“We fell in love with the amore apartment”
We fell in love with the amore apartmentJan 2011 The amore apartment was so nice for our Florence stay. What wonderful views. We were there in November and had several surprisingly mild days interspersed with some rain so we able to enjoy the terrace part of the time. The Oltrarno location is excellent, well worth the walk up the block to reach the apartment where you are rewarded with quiet streets and amazing views. Pat at Italy Perfect could not have been more helpful. Appreciated all the great restaurant recommendations too. And new little supermarket nearby on Via dei Bardi had a great array of good quality foods. We would loved the amore apartment and it's amazing views and hope to stay here again next year.
Response from the manager We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you from Italy Perfect!
“Fairytale evenings on the roof deck :^)”
This apartment is a rare opportunity. The location is superb, convenient, quiet and sensational! The large living/dining room is great for being together, yet the patio , balconey and roof terace offer private outside areas. We liked cooking our evening meal at "home" and dining on the patio outside the living room and kitchen. The pass thru from the kitchen was fun and the umbrella was essential at dinner time as the sun was sneaking around to the west. Teen agers can text/compute out on the bedroom balconey. The really big show was at sunset: On the Roof terrace! It was a little too hot in July to go up there in daytime, but evenings were wow! a 360 degree view and a gentle breeze after sunset with all of Florence and her churches/monuments lighted just for us, we were in heaven. Altho the buildings are old, Air conditioning, small but fully equipped kitchen, elevator and wifi made us totally comfortable. Grocery store at the bottom of the stairs, and restaurants everywhere are great.
