“Barbara's review of Vita Bella”
Very positive. Spacious apartment that gave a feel for being in the old town. Accessible to the area. Location was excellent with proximity to the Piazza Grande and the old town shops and restaurants. Also, the vintage feeling of the apartment and its vaulted stone ceilings and original fresco. The city is interesting and lively without tons of tourists. The Piero della Francesco frescoes are amazing. Restaurants were good and accessible. The owner is friendly and helpful. The lack of light given the small windows and minimal lighting fixtures other than the kitchen. The bedroom and living room need much better lighting to feel more comfortable and inviting. The view of the parking lot is a detraction. Proximity to the old town and to the park which is so close. Ease of finding good restaurants. Ease of getting to the train and bus station for travel to Cortona and other hill towns.
“Richard's review of Vita Bella”
Very good. The Vita Bella apartment is well-located, within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the train and bus stations in Arezzo. The neighborhood is quiet, even though it is just off the main piazza. There was a lot of "local color" and the people were friendly. Being met at the train station by the owner, who personally took us to the apartment and who showed us how things worked, e.g., kitchen appliances, etc. Riccardo also made several telephone calls on our behalf regarding a lost wallet while in Rome the preceding week. We missed having a microwave oven in the kitchen. Maybe that's just an American "thing." We also suggested to the owner that several doors didn't close easily in the bathroom and closet, and that he might install a shower curtain in the bathroom. As everyone knows, the Tuscany Region is beautiful for all the obvious reasons, i.e., landscapes, history, food, and climate.
“John's review of Vita Bella”
We had an excellent overall experience in Arezzo and at Vita Bella. The location was extraordinary. It was in an old, walled city. It was not a bucolic country setting. We did not want that. We wanted an authentic urban experience. It was a little chilly for late March and the heat was a bit temperamental. We loved the City of Arezzo. Our best meal was 50 feet from our door. We were surrounded by art, museums, churches, stores and people.
“Wallace's review of Vita Bella”
Good - bed's really a futon and is firm. Property is as appears in your pictures. Kitchen extensively furnished for meal prep. Property really best for couple, or possibly plus two children on sofa beds. Location good, but parking is not nearby, due to restrictions in access to town. Location. Nice town with most markets available. Made great central location for day tours. Floors, being new and placed in refurbished centuries old building, squeak with each step. Not great if you're a light sleeper, with others moving about. Probably the best area for Tuscany - other areas are getting way too touristy and difficult to move about.
“Mary Lou's review of Vita Bella”
Wonderful. This was our fifth trip to Italy, and it was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences we have had. We loved Arezzo, and were impressed by all it had to offer. The location. We were a half-block from the Piazzo Grande and around the corner from a beautiful park. There was nothing to dislike. The apartment is well stocked, and Ricardo provides a tremendous amount of information about special sites, where to eat, etc. The only warning I would offer is that the bed is VERY firm, and might be uncomfortable for some. However, after a long day of walking and sightseeing, the bedroom's darkness and quiet led to our sleeping very soundly. The apartment is very well located so we could walk just about everywhere in the city. Dining on the Loggia of the Piazza was particularly pleasant.
“Gil's review of Vita Bella”
We had a lot of rain and cool weather. The owner was very helpful. Historical and roomy. No parking as a result of the renovation of the Piazza. Close to the Piazza and town.
“Faaiza's review of Vita Bella”
We were met by the owner who was very nice and provided helpful information on the area and restaurants. The villa was clean and well equipped. The location. Very central, yet very quiet. Arezzo itself is a beautiful town, so it was nice to be located there. It didn't have any outdoor patio. The restaurants, local market, vicinity to surrounding towns, and the evening passeggiata on Via Corso. But most important everyone was extremely friendly.
“Lori's review of Vita Bella”
We would definitely go back to Vita Bella - it's a perfect villa rental for 2 people. To say that our experience was merely "wonderful" is an understatement! It was one of the most memorable experiences we've had in Italy, and we've been there six times. The owner is a lovely man, speaks very good English and provides lots of information. Take his recommendations, he won't steer you wrong! Try to learn a little Italian before you go, there is not a lot of English spoken and the Italians really appreciate the effort. Vita Bella is incredibly comfortable and very well equipped. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook, including spices, oil, etc. The bedroom is very dark and quiet, which we loved. There was lots of hot water and good pressure in the shower. It is in an excellent location, within walking distance of everything. Nothing - it was perfect! We really fell in love with Arezzo and spent the entire week exploring it, getting to know the locals, visiting every restaurant, bar, store and cafe we could possibly squeeze in. We loved every meal, cappuccino, and glass of Prosecco (and believe me, there were many)! We cooked Christmas dinner in because not too many restaurants were open, but the food shopping is terrific and we enjoyed cozying in. The shopping really surprised us, everything from great fashions, leather, lingerie, etc. to a bustling local market. The main street Corso Italia, is fabulous for the evening passeggiata. Very friendly locals.
“Russell's review of Vita Bella”
The unit and surrounding area and town were just as described in your listing. Both were wonderful. Our rental unit had everything. The best parts were the location in an old walled city, beautiful well stocked kitchen, and charm in every room. The washer was small but worked fine and was essential to a long stay. We stayed 3 weeks and always found things to do in town and the surrounding area. The worst parts were the lumpy living room chairs and couch, hard and lumpy bed, and temperamental shower (you need to run it for 5 minutes to get the continuous hot water heater to stop cycling on and off). Arezzo is the perfect combination of an old walled city and modern suburbs, so you can eat lunch and dinner at about 20 excellent restaurants and visit the hill towns of Tuscany by day. We had a car but took the train to Florence and Rome to avoid parking problems. The train station was easily accessible in Arezzo and close to most things in Florence and Rome.
“William's review of Vita Bella”
Arezzo is a wonderful place to visit. It is not overrun by tourists. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the Piazza Grande, the soft colors of the buildings, the narrow streets in spite of the cars and vespas!. Sitting at the table in our large Tuscan kitchen and listening to opera music we felt that for a little while we could enjoy "la Dolce Vita". We loved the location in Arezzo. The apartment was very comfortable and we felt very much at home. The rooms are spacious. The kitchen was well equipped for someone who enjoys cooking. Parking is very difficult. You need to obtain a special permit to park within the walls and even then you're only allowed to enter or leave the walled city at specified hours. Parking outside of the city walls is not very practical. We loved the location in Arezzo. It is situated within the walls, behind the Piazza Grande with its lovely fountain, nice outdoor and indoor restaurants under beautiful arches. This is where the movie "A Beautiful Life" was filmed and you can see why they chose this location. It is about 15 minute walking distance from the railway and bus stations. About 10 minutes to the post office and supermarket. Cafes abound. A bakery with delicious breads is right around the corner as well as little shops where very good ready made food is available.
