“Arrival and unit availability time”
The direct flight from SFO to Kona arrives in Kona around 11:30 am and the unit is not availble until 3:00 PM. This means waiting in a rental car with all your bags packed for three hours before you can get in, unpack, and relax. It seems with a 10 am check out time and some priority clean up and prep of a unit that is rented back to back on days that noon check in is possible and very convenient. I called and the staff did their best to contact the house keeper to get the unit ready and let me in early but the unit wasn't finished. It had a dryer full of bed sheets and towels. The key / code system on the welcome email did not match the way the unit operated and it required several phone calls to resolve the pool keys, unit keys (or lack of keys), and unit entry code. It seems unwelcoming not to come to a place where you actually meet some one who greets you, goes over the unit particulars, keys and reviews how to get to the unit. The phone help was good, friendly but I have no idea where they were? Big Island, Kauai, Honolulu etc. It lacks a personal touch and the units (we have stayed in two of them now) are copys of each other with nothing to indicate that anyone lives there or uses it that has anything unique or personal, or even cares about the unit....decorated and more like a hotel room, lacks a human touch. So the combo or remote email.phone contact and the units decoration etc don't communicate much to the Aloha Spirit It is OK but not great. wayne

We do our very best to accommodate our guest arrivals, given prior notice. As our contract states, the check-in for our units is 3pm. However, most of the time, our guests are given early check-in if we are notified in advance and if our housekeeping schedules allow. In this particular case, it was a same day turnaround and we were unaware that you would have liked an earlier check-in. Every effort would have been made by our housekeeping team to ensure that your unit was ready earlier if we had been notified. We do have an onsite coordinator on staff to assist you with the unit orientation or any issues you may have. They are available upon request. Many of our guests like to explore their new surroundings independently and if they have questions or concerns, call our office for assistance. Lastly, our units are decorated by our owners in the hopes that it is neutral enough to cater to everyone's tastes. There are some units that are island inspired or island specific. Detailed photos can be viewed on our website prior to booking. We have a variety of units that can cater to everyone's tastes.Although you had a less than ideal check-in experience, we hope that your stay with ResorticaHawaii and on The Big Island was filled with the Aloha spirit and that you visit us again soon
“a great week in Hawaii”
My husband and I come to the Big Island often and always stay in this area… this unit is in excellent condition… so well stocked we did not even have to use most of the stuff! Also, we bring our own bikes and it has a garage.. excellent for assembling them as well as storing them while we are there….. the Management compact was on of the most professional I have seen.. and the service excellent…..
We had problems with the entry gate as it wasn't explained that we needed to use the # sign as part of the code. We were unable to lock the door. We had to call to receive the information about the door code. I felt that the communication could of been better.
Please provide better directions. We were in building I and it should have clearly stated that. The I looked too much like a one, just like in this message. Thank you for a great stay. We will recommend it to friends.

I can see how that would be really frustrating, if you're looking for a number rather than a letter. We'll see what we can do to make it more clear next time. “Great Vacation Rental”
The property mgmt firm gave us excellent service and the condo was everything we had hoped it would be.

the agent was doing her best to be as helpful as possible. we did not know there was an elevator to use until we were in our 2nd floor quarters for 3 days as it was located on the right side of the entrance and not on our left side. arriving at night we did not know that the door to our unit would be open with the keys inside the unit. a person taling a walk informed us that was his experience which finally solved the problem. we understood that most units had some beach equipment in the garage such as snorkel stuff and boogie boards and other items. our garage was as blank as a cave. two other closeby units occupied by our relatives and friends were far better equiped with cooking items and general amenities. I would suggest safeway rather than costco to reduce the leftover items from some of the larger volume items required at costco. new sheets would be in order.
