“Perfect Weekend Getaway”
We loved everything about our stay at Palm Island Resort- from the private beaches (the nearest people on the beach were about 50 yards away in both directions) to the restaurants located within the community to the abundance of seashells. We ventured onto shark tooth beach, and found the sea shell tree to be beautiful. The wildlife provided many photo ops. And finally, the landscaping was TOP NOTCH. People pay to visit Gardens just to view landscaping of this magnitude, and it's just the norm inside of this community. Simply beautiful!
Palm Island is wonderful place. Very relaxing and easy going. A perfect Romantic getaway. We enjoyed our stay. Although the restaurants where limited the food was good. We will be coming back.
It is a rare occasion to find oneself sequestered away from "civilization" (strip malls and traffic jams) on to a desolate white sand gulf beach searching for seashells and sharks teeth and no apparent schedule to keep up with. That sums up my experience at Palm Island Resort. The villa offered all the modern conveniences with plenty of space, clean and comfortable. The resort staff was friendly and extremely kind and helpful. This is the best beach resort experience that my family has ever enjoyed. I hesitated to review this since I would prefer to keep it all to myself but I know there are many others out there looking for paradise and deserve the best. This is it.
“Wonderful week on the island!”
This is the 3rd time we have stayed on the island in Palm Island Resort in one of the condos. It is always fantastic! The view from the condo was beautiful. Great views from nearly every room. The kitchen and bathrooms were furnished with everything we needed. The pool was right next door and lots of fun. We rented a golf cart for the week and enjoyed driving to the point in the evening to watch the sun set over Stump Pass. The bird and turtle sanctuary provides great exposure to the natural habitat of the gulf coast. Our stay included passes for the car ferry so we could easily travel between the island and the marina to use our boat. All of the staff were very helpful and very friendly. We will, of course, return for another stay.
The only drawback for me was that the master bath did not have a tub! The fullsized shower was fine but was planning on a few nice long bubble baths. It would have been nice to know this in advance. Most people wouldn't care. We had a great time. We have been coming to Palm Island about 13 years and love it! So relaxing!
“Palm island 2 bedroom condo”
This is our third year at Palm Island Resort. We have stayed in 3 different 2 bedroom condo's all on the gulf. The first two have been in good repair and this year not as well. The master bedroom mattress has a sink hole in the middle. The curtains along the living room sliders only went half way across. The oven handle was loose and the microwave handle was cracked. While I love Palm Island Resort this unit should not be rented until fixes are completed.
We loved our vacation. It was so peaceful and easy. The resort was fun for all 4 of us and had stuff that appealed specifically to our kids as well. Captain Red Beard was awesome. We definitely plan on coming back soon.
My sisters and I met for a mini family reunion and we had a great time. I think that the unit needs a coat of paint and some of the furniture needs to be replaced but other than that everything was wonderful.
“Unit 2811B - Poor Condition”
This was my 5th stay at the resort and it was the least satifactory. First, let me say that the management staff and all other personnel (Ko Ko, ferry, etc) were friendly and helpful. They all made you feel as if you were the most important person in their life. My problem was the general condition of the property. It appears that the unit hasn't been painted in years and is badly worn. The frame above the sliding doors over looking the Gulf has rust the whole length of the frame and the paint is peeling/bubbling on all the window frames. We used the washer & dryer just once and were afraid to use them again. The washer was so loud and "clanky" that I was afraid it was going to breakdown. The dryer wasn't much better. We had washed white towels and one of the towels was caught between the frame and tumbler and was very difficult to free. When I did get it out the towel had black grime on it where it was hung up in the dryer. The condition of each of the bathrooms was also unsatifactory due to the peeling/flaking paint.
“My Labor Day Week Stay”
The condo was really dated, furniture, amenities, etc. I didn't know that people still watched tube TV. Other than that, it was another enjoyable week on Palm Island.
