“Beautiful Black Butte Ranch”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2013

Perfect for a couple night stay for two!! See snow capped Three Sisters and Broken Top from your room or take a nice hike on paved walk ways in clean mountain air. Golf at either of the two awesome golf courses there Big Meadow or Glaze meadow. Food at Robert's Pub is very good and generous servings!! Ten minutes from Sisters and gorgeous Metolius River area. You will love it!! Cheers!!

We enjoyed our stay at the ranch. The one thing I would say is, don't eat in the lodge. It was way over priced and the food wasn't that great. If you want to eat somewhere on the ranch go over to the golf course and eat at Robert's Pub. Much better food and good prices.

“Great place, wonderful value. Everybody go!”

Loved our stay at Black Butte. The room was nice with full amenities and the restaurant had incredible views and good food. There isn't anywhere more beautiful than the ranch. A nice place to rest, regroup, and recharge. Can't wait to go again! Tomorrow?

“Still a memorable getaway”

Enjoyed a return to Black Butte Ranch, one of my favorite places in the Northwest. Thought this condo near the lodge was a fine accomodation, with an excellent view off the deck. However, we were disappointed that, in the spring season, lodge and its restaurant were closed early in the week, as was the place where we'd hoped to rent bikes. Felt we should have been informed of this shortcoming when we made our Tuesday reservation.

“cozy and comfortable”

Our unit looked out on a beautiful view which we enjoyed whenever in the room. The weather had been inclamet so we used the fireplace every night as we read. So coxy and homelike.

“Our stay was even more amazing than I expected!”

My neighbor in Portland recommended Black Butte Ranch so I planned a long weekend trip in October for my husband's birthday. The room was so much nicer than I expected and I couldn't have asked for more. The view from the porch is one of the best on the ranch, it has beautiful high ceilings and a fireplace inside, is tastefully decorated, and had all of the modern conveniences a hotel suite would have. I would highly recommend Black Butte Ranch and this particular rental for your stay.

“Pleasant vacation”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2011

Nice resort to vacation. Like the bicycle paths and great swimming pool. Rooms are average and somewhat dated. Room 40 does not have privacy from one of the adjoining units as no privacy barrier between the units. Would not reserve room 40 or the adjoining unit again due to no privacy on the back deck. Otherwise, a fine experience.

“Mixed”

We came for a wedding. Loved the staff at The Lodge. Food was fantastic. Joy Johnson was so helpful. Aimee, wedding coordinator, was superlative. First time tot hat area and loved the scenery. Negatives: 1. The power went out in our condo for over six hours and I had a wedding to prepare for. We were offered a house to share with three other groups. While each group would have had their own bathroom, I was not at all comfortable sharing space with people I didn't know -- going from bedroom to bathroom, etc. Since we didn't have full use of our room for the time period for which we contracted, I expected to have my bill discounted. The manager wouldn't hear of it. Her response: we can't control nature. The power utility company informed me that we lost power because the lines were old and needed to be replaced. The Ranch knew of this. The power had previously gone out at the same place -- the utility company pointed out where they had dug up the lines on at least one previous occasion. It was completely and utterly foreseeable that another outage would occur and that the Ranch could have taken steps to avoid it. The Manager's response was, thus, false and misleading. 2. There was a gross inadequacy of chaises at the pool. The grounds were soggy so lying on the grass was not an acceptable option. I noticed that people staked out their lounge chairs early in the day. They would come and go, often leaving the chairs for hours, but keeping others from enjoying them by leaving towels, etc. in the chairs. They were cheap, plastic chairs -- buy more! Never could get my hands on one for the day I had by the pool. Food at the Lodge was fantastic. Service there was excellent. Too bad the rest of the resort isn't run in the same way.

“Wonderful Getaway”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2011

Our visit to Black Butte Ranch was truly a great and relaxing getaway. We appreciated the amazing view of the Lake and mountains outside our room. I would highly recommend to book a room with view not a patio accomodation. We were first booked into a patio only room and it was cramped, dark and depressing. Certainly worth the few extra dollars to be in a more spacious and inviting atmosphere. We look forward to another visit in our future vacation plans.
