“Room With a View”
This room was small but nice. Good view of the pasture and the 3 Sisters. The refrigerator was in the room and made noise which woke us up at night. There was no table to eat on as the only table had the microwave on it. When our coffee was not refilled one morning we called the front desk. They said they didn't replace coffee. The next day it was refilled. We tried t re-use towels but they were replaced anyway.
“We loved location & area”
The directions to the place could have been more accurate from the lodge!! We loved the view & location. It was fairly comfortable & clean. They could use a little updating We loved main restaurant breakfast delicious it was 5 min walk from condo Right on bike path in beautiful area with numerous outdoor activities for all family members great pool too incredible mtn lake views
“Relaxing and Enjoyable”
My Fiancé and I stayed here to be nearby for my cousin's wedding at another location. We arrived super late, but the check-in desk was still open! It was nice knowing they had a system in place in case guests arrived after the desk closed. I honestly didn't know much about the ranch when I booked it - I was thinking it was, you know, a ranch. We arrived in the dark and went straight to sleep. So, I wasn't surprised to hear the distant mooing of cows in the early morning. It was when I opened the curtains after waking and realized this was no longer a ranch, but a full-blown resort with two golf courses, community centers and restaurants! The grounds are very well kept and manicured, which caters to the older generations and golfers. I would have been fine with more cows and cowboys. ;) I loved walking around and admiring the old Ponderosa pines, ponds with ducks, and the reflection of the Three Sisters. Very scenic! We grabbed a semi-late breakfast at the restaurant closest to our room. Service was pretty slow, which probably wouldn't have mattered as much if we didn't have to be at a wedding. The staff were very polite and the food was decent. As for the room itself, it was quaint with a nice view of the mountains. It was pretty "rustic," and I mean in the outdated sort of way. The mattress was pretty soft and caused my back to cramp, and we found one moldy glass by the sink. Other than that, I was happy with the room and didn't want to leave, except we had booked horseback riding! The horseback riding was a lot of fun. They were super nice to let us book very last minute. Because we were so late in booking, we didn't have much choice in the group we went with, which was sadly a whole family of new riders. One girl was terrified of every movement the horse made and never wanted to go faster than a walk. I was disappointed in having my experience limited by this one person.
My experience at Black Butte was very disappointing. I reserved a lodge room at a certain rate and when I checked in I found they had automatically added a $1 charge for something they were supporting. This was on top of the 16% tax they charged, 8% of it for Black Butte Ranch. It wasn't the amount but the audacity to think that was okay. It wasn't! No one at check in could remove the charge. Next I was given a map with a circled area to find my room. What they didn't tell me was that they sent me to Lodge Room 015 but no signs indicate the room by that description. I stopped at the lodge hoping they would know where it was. They did not. I asked them to call the Welcome Center to find out. They did but were told they did not know for sure but I could try Lodge Condominium Room 015 - that might be it. It was. I wish they would have told me that at check in; it would have saved me about 15 to 20 minutes. When I got into the room Housekeeping had left an envelope for me so I could tip them. I have never heard of that before. I thought it was very tacky. The room was dark and very outdated. The only window was a sliding glass door that opened to a common area so there was no privacy if the blinds were opened. The bathroom counter was extremely low even for me and I am only 5'3" tall. The shower curtain smelled very sour. At check out they did remove the charge. Needless to say, I will not return. It was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have every had.
“Perfect setting and great hospitality”
Primary purpose was to play golf. Courses well maintained. Good pace of play. Good value. Room was very adequate. A little worn, but beautiful view of the mountains. The pub restaurant had fantastic food -- breakfast and dinner, for great value. Also used the fitness center -- top notch.
“Golf Outing at the Ranch”
Spent 3 days at the Ranch to golf and enjoy the scenery. From my room the Three Sisters and Mt Washington were visible and beautiful to behold. The room was clean and neat but would like to have a newer flat screen TV.
“good view from room”
room is small and units are 70-80's that need up graded. very clean rooms, not for a longer stay of more then 2 days in my opinion. not a lot of choices if you are looking for a good price to play golf for a day or two. I would reccommend the homes for families, not the condos. beautiful scenry and not many trees around the unit made it feel too open. nicer landscaping might help.
We had a great stay! The room was very comfortable and all the options from the pools, general store, golf etc made it easy not to have to leave. It was wonderful and very beautiful. The resturant had delicious meals and perfect service.
“Very nice for a short stay”
The room was in a lovely location and would be good for a very short stay for 1-2 people. The bed was very comfortable. It was difficult to figure out how to work the TV which had 3 remotes and no specific directions on how to use them. Also, the location of the microwave and frig was poor. One chair was not usable because the frig was in the way. This is not a family friendly room.
“The entire stay was amazing! The accomodations were perfect.”
The breakfasts at the lodge were great. The food was well prepared and delicious. The room was very comfortable and conveniently located. The proximity to Black butte and Sisters was perfect. The bike trails were truly magical. The Glaze meadow pool was very therapeutic and relaxing. The only minor inconvenience was not having easy access to an ice machine. (The lodge staff was very helpful in filling this request!)
