We had a weekend at the cabin with co-workers and it was great. Very nice and clean. The hot tub was relaxing the only down fall was the fire pit did not work. I think due to the fact that is was very cold out side. Did call to have some one look at it but no one came. Other then that great weekend.
“Third time not as good as previous years”
Our family of 4 has loved Trail Cabin 8 and have been back for three years. This year we were surprised to find the darling blue and white striped couches replaced with overstuffed light green which somewhat detracted from the red/white/blue décor. We also noticed some stains on the living room carpet that weren't there previously and the rugs in the master had melted spots - makes me think someone abused this adorable cabin which is too bad. It needs new pillows too. I mentioned these things to the ranch and hopefully they can be fixed so we can stay there again. It has been our "go-to" cabin for a number of years for its location and charm.
Awsome time Golfing. 80 plus holes in 2 day. Cabin was great. It had a hot tub that was needed after golfing. Courses were in great shape. The service at the resturant and Pro shops were Freindly and Top Notch. We had a blast thanks we will return
Thank you for your hospitality! We had such a good time while staying in your cabin. Soon, we will come back for another vacation. Thank you again!
“We can't wait to go back!”
I've stayed at Black Butte before but always in a privately owned home vs a ranch property. I was pleasantly surprised! The cabin would have slept 5 but there was only 2 of us so $200/night for a last minute weekend getaway was more than I'd normally spend. But, the weather was perfect the weekend we were there and the staff were friendly than usual! And they're usually pretty great so that's saying a lot. The check in folks knew I was waffling on the price and since I only stayed 2 nights I didn't qualify for the weekend deal they were running. They offered me a coupon for the lodge that was well worth it. Food there was fantastic. The cabin was clean, totally stocked with basic spices, cooking tools, etc. Hot tub was great and we were pleasantly surprised with the gas firepit and BBQ. Beds were comforable and for such a small place there were 2 bathrooms which if you filled the beds would have been well worth it. Will definitely go back and stay at #8 again!
“Cabin was fun. Management was a nightmare!!!”
We had a great time at the ranch. That is until we checked out. When we arrived home I noticed that I was double charged for my stay and the "deposit" was not returned to me. After a couple of days I finally just told my bank it was a fraudulent charge and got back the extra that they tried to swindle out of me. 600 was good enough for them, since that's what it cost us to stay there. They didnt need to try and take an extra 750 from me. It was a giant headache to deal with them and after it was all said and done all they said was "sorry your bank messed up." I was disgusted with the lack of careing about this situation that they caused. Bank showed me records of them making the transactions yet they still say it was the banks fault. I didn't want anything but a sincere apology and I still never even got that. They showed me their true colors and lack of class.
This cabin is a little slice of heaven. It was clean, cozy, and pleasantly equipped for cooking and relaxing. My two daughters loved the loft and fireplace. We didn't want to leave! The drive to the pool and spa is an easy one, and the staff there (as well as BBR)is outstanding in customer service.
“Charming cabin, great location!”
We have taken our two daughters to Black Butte for the past 6 summers and have tried a number of cabins. This is the first one we have now stayed in twice. It is the perfect size for a family of 4 and is so nicely decorated it is a pleasure to hang out in. We loved the hot tub and gas fire pit and just about everything about this cabin! It is a cabin and so not totally soundproof between bedroom and living room but that isn't a problem for us as we all went to bed at about the same time. We look forward to our week at BBR next summer and will probably stay at trail Cabin 8 again!
“Cute and cozy fairytale cabin near the bike path.”
We're a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) and it was the perfect size and fit for our family. We brought board games but didn't need to as they had the classics already there (Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble). Kitchen very small but well supplied with coffee grinder and assorted gourmet teas, very nicely supplied for cooking and enjoying meals there. The refrigerator location a bit awkward next to the front door when we first arrived and unloaded our car. The main gathering space opened up to a deck (floor to ceiling windows with sliding glass doors) with a reasonably private hot tub, very comfortable outdoor furniture with huge cushions, which surrounded a propane fire pit (unexpected and great because we made s'mores) and another propane BBQ on the back deck. The upstairs loft was perfect for our kids and they thought it was very cool the way the windows opened up into the main part of the house. The windows allowed for better air circulation. The master bedroom with bath had a wonderful king size bed with layers of warm and soft blankets - much needed in the cool evenings. Bike paths easy to find for a quick ride to the main lodge and one of the pools. We stayed in June, right after school got out and it was a perfect time to stay at Black Butte because it wasn't too busy into the summer season yet. We even played "capture the flag" in the back yard, forested area behind the deck and hot tub area. We actually stayed an extra day at Black Butte because we had so much fun and really needed the family time together. The cabin had so many nice things about it - nice decorating touches that made it feel special, kind of like a little cabin that should be in a charming fairytale. Great place, we would stay here again.
We had a wonderful relaxing week at Black Butte! Thank you for allowing us to unwind in your cozy home.
