“Secluded Long Valley Lodge, 4 miles from McCall, had advantages as well as cleanliness issues.”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2017

This secluded rather large home, 4 miles from downtown McCall, Idaho housed 16 family members comfortably. We did a boat tour on Payette Lake, took in Ponderosa Park, swam at Bergdorf, climbed Crystal Mountain, fly-fished, and played on the beaches. The large yard allowed for outdoor games and the hot tub and fire pits were a nice addition. Two large rooms were perfect for whole group games and dining. Very clear directions to electronic devices, internet, etc. were located in easy to discover spots. There were some definite problems with the safety of the deck in the back. There were a few maintenance issues such as the hot tub breaker going off, the broken screen door, and a clogged drain in the tub. But, our main concern was with the cleanliness of the house. We arrived to find dust everywhere. This house hadn't been dusted in a while! We were concerned for those of our group that had dust allergies. This was definitely not good. Also, several of the beds were rumpled as if they had been laid on or quickly made up, and there was food on many of the dishes in the cupboard. Would we rent this house again? Probably. My suggestion to Accommodation Services was to provide more than four hours to clean between renters. And I was told that the owners had plans to fix the deck. Accommodation Services was easy to work with, very clear in their written, electronic and verbal communication, as well as accommodating. They listened to our concerns, even writing them down. I would definitely use their service again and have them review the cleaners' work.

“Great vacation... Beautiful cabin”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

The cabin was beautiful and a great place to stay. Had a great time. If I was to complain about anything it would be that there was no fans in the house to move air and it got hot. But overall we would do it all again.

“A great place for a family gathering.”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2013

Nice area. Lots of space and away from any neighbors. The house was clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of room and beds for our family. The kitchen was lacking in a few items, but we were able to make do with what was there.

“Family Reunion Extraordinaire!”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

Coupled with another home rented through the same property managers, we used the Long Valley Lodge for a 3 night family reunion over the 4th of July. Just 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of McCall on the 4th, it was a perfect location for our reunion. Only issue we had was a squatter who chose to park his fifth-wheel trailer on the property claiming that his family use to own the property...go figure. The property managers were aware, but the squatter remained throughout our stay.

“Great Private Location for Families”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2012

We found the house to be idea for our needs -- a large family group with children. The location is secluded, which we loved, but still close to town and to our other family members not staying with us. We were very pleased when we arrived. We especially loved the large kitchen table and family room area. The bathrooms were much nicer than expected. The upstairs bathroom had a double sink and plenty of storage. The hot tub was in perfect condition and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. The upstairs bedroom with the bunk beds had an unusual/unpleasant odor. Maybe from the previous tenants? We aired it out as best we could and it improved as the week went on (but didn't totally go away). The supplies were a little sparse -- kitchen garbage bags, dishwasher soap, toilet paper etc. We found the management company very efficient and helpful and wouldn't hesitate to book with them or book this property again.

“Great place to stay but a little hard to find as a late arrival”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2012

The house is very comfortable with lots of room. The hot tub was great. We had no trouble with connecting to internet. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We had a little trouble finding the sign on the tree at night because it is set back. A reflector would might help.

“Amazing!”

We had a great time at the Long Valley Lodge. We loved that there were plenty of beds and a great dining room table for everyone to sit. We will definitely return!!!

“Great Weekend Away”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2011

We found the Long Valley Lodge to be remote from close neighbors, had a great yard and outdoor area. The hot-tub was great and we didn't spend much time inside but the kitchen had what we needed when we needed it.

“Terrible experience”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2011

We had a terrible experience using Accom. Services this time. The girl at the counter gave us wrong street name (turn left on to Norwood off Dienhard. She should have said Left on Mission). We called her when we were lost a second time not able to find house because she clearly did not know where it was or the address. All she knew was the sign was posted on a tree. She would not give me an address because she either didn't know it but claimed it wouldn't help anyway because it was not on moon drive but street called "Buckner" even though it was off moon drive. This was not true either. 392 Moon Drive was the address which we came to find out. The sign "LVL" was all we had and turns out the sign was posted 30 feet down the driveway obscured from street by high snowbanks. She had to have some lady come find us to take us to location. Once finally finding the place we got struck in the the driveway heading to house because the driverway had huge rutts and large amounts of snow from not being plowed. We were never told that only a four wheel drive vehicle would make it. We had to call a tow truck driver to pull us out and he said he was there the day prior pulling another family out. It took the tow guy at least an hour once he arrived. I dont know what we would have done if we didnt have a second 4-wheel drive vehicle with us. Our other car had to be parked at the street for remainder of weekend. My mother found two bobbypins in her bed indicating the bed was not changed and clean for us but we were charged a cleaning deposit. There was no toilet paper in downstairs bathroom. The heating system was a bummer to get adjusted to a comfortable temperature. It took the whole weekend to figure it out.

Response from the manager Sorry you did not understand the instructions. As we explained you are the only guest that has ever got lost. We did go the extra mile though, as having a staff member from the office drive and meet you to show the sign and turn off for the property. We would have liked the opportunity to correct any issues with the home as we have a 24 hour number to call.
