“Still the best”
Wow, what can I say, we keep coming back and back. We already have booked it for 2 weeks next season. This will mark the 5TH straight season in Beachwalk #136 for the Quincy family. The location is the best place possible. Hilton head vacation rentals are such professional people to rent from and are always so helpful tending to every little detail. New mattress's and pillow's made this an extra special treat. We highly recommend #136. Jack and Marcia Quincy
“Beachwalk 136 is the ideal location”
Loved our stay at Beachwalk 136, this is the third straight year we have stayed there, we love the place so much that we hope to stay there again in 2013, our only complaint is they have to get some decent pillows to sleep on,I know pillows can't cost that much. We would highly recommend it to anyone, it was very clean, everything you needed was in the villa, loved our stay at Beachwalk 136. Jack and Marcia
“uncomfortable due to unit not clean enough”
The throw rug in the guest bath was filthy however the bathrooms were clean. I washed all of them and felt better. I also had to wash the extra blankets that were curled up in a ball on the shelf. The unit was nice somewhat updated with granite. The house keepers just need to be a bit more observant. I noticed the sliding door in the master bedroom wasn't compleatly shut. My husband closed it.The location was great and I had a fun time. I also noticed the a/c had to work harder due to a filter that needed to be changed. If the unit was cleaner I would have felt more comfortable.
Response from the manager Dear Picky from Augusta GA, Thanks for taking the time to review this villa. Throw rugs in bathrooms are problematic in rental properties. The cleaning company provides cleaned bath mats after each guest but the throw rugs belong to the owners and are not replaced. They do need to be washed periodically but owners usually do not use their properties during the busy summer season and this absence can result in dirty throw rugs. For this reason, we have removed these items from this villa for the time being. We are glad you found the rest of the villa clean and enjoyed the granite counters, the location to the beach and that you had a FUN TIME! Next time, please let us know if you have a cleaning issue and we can address it while you are here. Hopefully, we can earn a few more stars from even a "picky" guest - that is what we strive to do! “Poor Cleanliness / great rental company service”
We booked this particular villa due to a friend's wedding nearby. We booked in advance and due to 'special price' as part of wedding package, we had to book over the phone - was initially inconvenient but I was very pleased with agency used for rental property - very professional and kind. Upon arriving late at night, finding the night check-in was extremely difficult due location of office, but upon calling the company, we were very quickly helped, and it was very appreciated. Regarding the home: I don't know if we were the first rental of the season, but we found dead insects everywhere - in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, hall, and guest bedroom. Cockroaches everywhere. I am truly not easily unpleased but the condition of the villa was less than pleasing. Also there was a bag of towels sitting on the sofa in the living room. However, I must say the villa was in good shape and hanging on back deck was quite delightful. This was a comfortable villa and very welcoming. The beach was quite close as well - a short walk. I truly consider myself easy to please, but the bugs truly have deterred from recommending to friends - I also found the prices quite steep compared to other areas in Hilton Head. I have rented elsewhere in Hilton Head and will probably continue to do so. However, the rental company was great! We forgot objects in villa, and after a few days the rental company did ship our items home. We were very appreciative.
Response from the manager Dear Wedding Guest from Atlanta, We are truly sorry that you encountered some dead insects in this property. Thank goodness they were dead! The 5 star review below was done by guests who stayed in this villa four days before your arrival and evidently no dead or alive insects were seen. Our property manager inspected this villa about 30 hours before your arrival and he saw no bugs. So what happened during that 30 hours to create what you saw? A call to the pest control company revealed that they did one of their bi-monthly treaments about 24 hours before your arrival. The good news was that the treatment worked as you did not report seeing any live bugs. The bad news was that the treatment worked as it caused the live bugs to move out of their hidding places and then die. If we had inspected a few hours before your arrival they would have been detected and swept up. We live in a semi-tropical area and these critters were here long before Hilton Head Island was developed. All of our properties receive regular treatments and this helps keep most of the live bugs outside. Specific directions to our office were sent to you with your confirmation. Since you did not have this information with you, you called our phone number and got the after hours answering service. Then they guided you to our office which is on the island's main highway, HWY 278 Business. Finally, the "bag of towels" (and sheets) were left in the villa in case someone was using the sleep sofa. The $172 nightly rate you paid for a 2Bd/2Ba, fully-equipped villa was less than most of the other wedding guests paid for a single hotel room ($175 per night). We are very glad that you were pleased with our company and hope that your next time to the island, you will not be bothered by any bugs, either dead or alive. Paul C. / Hilton Head Vacation Rentals
“Beachwalk is the Best”
Beachwalk 136 is a great place to stay. It cannot be beat for convenience. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The deck that is off the dining room was delightful as well. Our only wish would be for the living room to have some comfortable chairs. The only comfortable place to sit was the sofa.
“Needs a bit of an update”
Wonderful location, but the unit was a bit dated. The living room had one love seat and two chairs all wicker, not comfortable at all. King bed in master was good, but the twin beds in the second room were very bad as were the pillows. The master bath shower head was broken and hard to deal with. Next time I will be more diligent in locating a better unit as some of our family members had much better units.
“Enjoyable and relaxing”
A must to rent bikes. A nice bike ride to the beach. There are many paved trails around Shipyard on which to ride, so they are safer if you have children and only cross roads occasionally. This unit was nice. The only problem was with a few doors. The floors were not level near a couple of closet doors, so the doors would not open fully.
