"Tide's Reach" - formerly know as 'Water's Edge' - is a stylish end townhouse in a unique harbourside development in the picturesque village of Garlieston in the Galloway Machars, Dumfries & Galloway. Rated 4 star by Scottish Country Holidays.
The property sleeps 4 people in one twin and one double (en suite) bedroom. High chair and travel cot available. The spacious open-plan living area includes comfortable lounge, well-equipped modern kitchen and dining area with harbour views. The property has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, with a good level of equipment in the kitchen and throughout. There are sea views from most windows, but particularly from the first floor balcony.
Allocated parking for one vehicle directly outside, plus addtional off street parking nearby.
Situated just a stone's throw from the slipway, 'Tide's Reach' enjoys a peaceful location with a shingle beach and delightful coastal footpaths right on the doorstep. The surrounding area is rich in wildlife (including Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve) and historical interest, such as nearby Whithorn Priory (the earliest Christian foundation in Scotland), and numerous prehistoric standing stones. There is a village shop and pub within easy walking distance .
Presented to a very high standard, this 4-star cottage offers a comfortable base to relax and unwind amongst beautiful, unspoilt countryside, far from the bustle of modern life.
Please note the property only sleeps a maximum of 4 people, and we accept a maximum of two dogs. During peak season, all bookings must run from Saturday to Saturday (exceptions may be made for last minute bookings -please ask). Short breaks are only available at 2 weeks notice between Easter and the end of October and cannot normally span two weeks (apart from last minute bookings).

Response from the owner I do apologise that everything was not 100% as you would wish. I can confirm that the cutlery was replaced in July 2016. When I last visited the kitchen bin was very clean so I can only think this was a one off oversight on the part of our cleaner. A child gate is provided to enclose the rear yard, which most dog owners seem to find adequate. I am sorry you found the hoover heavy - it is comparable to our own at home, which I think is fairly typical. We did have a smaller one, but its cleaning power was nowhere near as good! Although the original village shop closed in 2015, there is another small shop - the Post Office - situated near the village tennis courts, which does carry a good range of basices. I am glad these issues did not prevent you having an enjoyable holiday and that you would consider staying with us again. We do appreciate the feedback.
