“A great get away weekend”

Reviewed 20 May 2010

My family visited Cooperstown in Oct. of 2009 and stayed in this wonderful house. The location was great: it wasn't too far of a drive into downtown Cooperstown and all the attractions but far enough out of town to enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding area. This property was well kept and has water access to the beautiful lake just across the street. The views of the lake and the surrounding woods can be seen from almost every room of the house; I especially loved the rooms in the front of the house which were all windows and you could enjoy the amazing views while eating meals. This house contained an amazing kitchen (newly renovated it seemed) and bathrooms while keeping with the charm and style of the area and surrounding houses. My family and I really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning soon hopefully.

“Spacious, Comfortable, Well-Appointed, Great Location”

Three friends and I stayed here four days last fall when the leaves were turning. We had a great time. The house itself is very spacious and well furnished. There is a large-screen TV in the huge living room which also has a fireplace, and a normal-sized TV in the den. The kitchen is well-equipped. In general the house is very comfortable, clean and well-kept. It was a beautiful time of year, the days clear and crisp, the leaves in full color. Just across the road and down a little woodsy path is a secluded dock and boathouse with kayaks. We kayaked on the lake surrounded by the reds and russet yellows of the fall foliage encircling the lake. There was hiking nearby. Cooperstown was only a few minutes drive away. We had a great time at the Hall of Fame. The town itself is charming with a number of restaurants and what I remember to be a very comfortable and friendly tavern. There were also a number of shops specializing in baseball memorabilia of course. Incidentally, the lake, known in real life as Otsego Lake inspiration for Lake Glimmerglass which figures prominently in some of James Fenmore Cooper's novels including 'The Dear Slayer' and 'Last of the Mohicans'

“Wow, what a great place!”

What a great place for a family to get together. The home is beautiful, large bedrooms and bathrooms, many rooms to spread out. The kitchen is fully equipped and what a view! The view from the kitchen and dining room were fantastic. Location of the home was very close to everything we had planned to see. A great weekend had by all. Kapsales have a beautiful home.
