“Charming and Cozy Cottage”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2013

Thank you, Michelle, for a wonderful get-a-way. We've stayed in a lot of rental properties and were so impressed with your cottage. We loved the beautiful setting and enjoyed relaxing meals on the deck. The bed and furniture were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We look forward to our next visit!

“Satisfied visitors from Delaware”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2013

From the moment I spoke with the owner until after we arrived home, we have had friendly and helpful conversations with the owner. Michele's Twisted Willow Cottage is the perfect place to relax, meditate and in our case grieve the recent passing of a loved family member. The wooded setting provided us daily sighting of squirrels, birds, rabbits and deer. Twisted Willow Cottage was the hub for visits with nearby relatives, sightseeing across Sonoma County, and visits to nearby wineries. The owner has furnished the cottage with the visitor in mind providing lovely bedding and linens, a gas fireplace, an outdoor patio and grill, and providing wine and cheese on our arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking local produce, meats and fish all of which were purchased at nearby farmers markets and specialty stores. We enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner at the Farm House on River Road and our favorite drive was the Coleman Valley Road from Oxidental to Bodega Bay with breathtaking views around every curve. We loved day trips to Sonoma, Napa, Geyserville, Yountville, Petaluma, Santa Rosa and our daily trips into Sebastopol. The Willowdale Market in Graton is great for dinner and a visit to the redwoods in armstrong Woods is a must. Lunch at Korbel and a winery tour was fun. As you can see we had a great time and are enjoying the wonderful memories especially our time spent at Twisted Willow Cottage - what a treat! We are looking forward to return visits.

“Twisted Willow / home away from home”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2013

Michelle and Oso provided this wonderful little nest for our week's stay amongst family vineyards and "real" california living. The house has all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay with cheese and wine waiting upon arrival, and spices, coffee, tea, herbs for cooking etc. The size of twisted willow is perfect for us, and the deck served as a night stage for star and moon gazing. One afternoon, we saw a deer just down in the backyard. Perfect location to Napa, Sonoma, Bodega, Russian River area,, and only a little over 1 hour from San Francisco. This is a little gem that we will return to. Thanks Michelle and Oso for upkeeping this home so well and so welcoming for our stay. We miss being there already.

“I'll never stay in a hotel again!”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2012

I have never used this site until our stay at the Twisted Willow Cottage. It was everything the description said it was and more! Great location for wine tasting and "getting away from it all!" Nice touches with a few complimentary tastings at a few local wineries, morning coffee (with soy milk as provided when asked by our host), and alittle wine and cheese! This is worth checking out!

“weekend retreat”

We enjoyed our stay at the Twisted Willow Cottage. The lush foliage and cute cottage made it a cozy stay and private stay for us. The hosts paid attention to details that helped us feel welcomed upon arriving and comfortable throughout our stay.

Response from the owner Thanks so much for your review. It does help our future travelers when they are lookiing for a private getaway know that our cottage is an enjoyable and comfy place to relax. We look forward to your next stay at the Twisted Willow Cottage. Michelle & Oso

“Cozy, tasteful, and very private”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2011

We loved our stay. The cottage is tucked away in a very private spot in the trees, beautifully appointed (including a well-thought-out kitchen, which we as enthusiastic cooks really appreciated). The gas fireplace added a perfect note to a cozy getaway. The thoughtfulness of finding wine, crackers, cheese, and some wine tasting coupons upon arrival show a level of attention to detail that we've only seen before at much more expensive accommodations. We definitely felt very well looked after.

“Beautiful Cozy Cottage!”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2011

We stayed at the Twisted Willow Cottage over Thanksgiving for a family reunion in Windsor. As soon as we arrived, we knew we chose the right place for us (2 adults and 2 children, ages 6 and 12). The cottage is not big, but we were comfortable. My husband, who loves to cook, forgot to bring his knives. He felt that the knives in the kitchen were a bit dull. Other than this minor issue, we had a wonderful time and made wonderful memories of our stay in Sebastopol. It's extremely private, and the fireplace kept us warm throughout our stay. The bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The pull-out sofa sleeper in the living room wasn't as comfortable (the bar in the middle poked through the mattress), but we made do. We absolutely love this little town and fell in love with the scenic beauty of the place. Andy's Fresh Produce Market and Pacific/Fiesta Market are a must if you're looking for fresh vegetables, fruit and meat. Hole in the Wall and Underwood Bar & Bistro are a must for breakfast and dinner, respectively. Michelle was always available to answer our questions and accommodated our requests. We will definitely be back (without kids next time)!

“Peaceful Getaway”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2011

We spent a beautiful weekend in the Twisted willow Cottage and could not have found a better place. The house is absolutely adorable. It was very clean and well decorated. There is every amenity you could want. From two nice TV, a kitchen with everything in it, and best of all a huge deck. It is very close to a number of wineries and great restaurants. We rented bikes and road around on the bike path to a variety of different wineries. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and would stay here again in a heart beat.

“Wonderful Weekend Getaway”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2011

We had a wonderful weekend getaway to the Twisted Willow Cottage. It's a lovely and peaceful spot in the woods, but very near several great wineries and outdoor activities. Michelle was so very helpful and her attention to detail is highly evident! We had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. We rented bicycles at West County Revolution in Sebastopol and biked the West County Trail on Saturday, and then on Sunday we visited Iron Horse winery (incredible views)! We took advantage of the deck and grill at the cottage to cook a feast on Saturday night (highly recommend andy's produce market nearby) and enjoyed some of the wine we picked up on our bike ride. The queen bed upstairs was very comfortable for me and my husband, and my sister who was visiting from the East Coast said the sofabed in the living room was one of the most comfortable she's used. The cottage is so quiet and dark at night we had one of our best nights of sleep in a long time. Everything was very clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated. We'll definitely be back!

“Wine Trip”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2011

We had a wonderful stay in July, Twisted Willow Cottage is the perfect getaway. Close to so many wonderful wineries and just a few miles from the beautiful Sonoma Coast. We will return for our third visit next year.

Response from the owner We look forward to your next visit. Michelle
