“A Family Home Away from Home Where We Made Many New Memories!!”
In October 2014, our immediate and extended family needed a place to stay near Richfield Springs, NY. We live in Colorado and the rest of the family traveled from different states around the U.S., and even in from Japan. Though this was our first time renting a vacation house, we thankfully found The Comfort Woods Guest House in a beautiful location at a very affordable price. The Comfort Woods Guest House was the perfect place to stay!! From the very first day of contact, Rick the owner was helpful, honest and more than accommodating. He was knowledgeable regarding the area, and kindly answered the many questions we had. The property was well-kept and provided privacy, calm and comfort for our family members. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all tools/items needed for family meals and entertaining. Each room was uniquely decorated and had a true cabin feel and charm. The large ocean themed bathroom had a huge open shower with great water pressure. We all enjoyed the large porch and fire pit area. If your family likes to read and or play board games, this place is for you. It was like a mini-library/game room. FUN! If you like to be outside in nature you can take a hike or ride the bicycles that are provided. Our autumn visit let us view the amazing colors of the season. ***** My family and I would like to highly recommend renting from this owner because of his honest and straightforward communication style. We want to thank him because when my daughter-in-law misplaced her necklace, Rick (the owner) searched and found the jewelry and returned it to us promptly. THANK YOU for allowing our family to have a little slice of heaven in Upstate New York.
Response from the owner Thank you Marilyn, It was a great experience hosting your 'travelling-far' family, and hearing your stories of your stay and how you were able to share those stories with your students back in Colorado. -- Rick
“Romance or Relaxation”
Whatever it is you are looking for, this is your place! Nestled in the woods but not far off the road, is a rustic cabin with all the comforts of home. Amply stocked, clean & spacious this 3 bedroom cabin could easily accomodate a family or some couples looking to get away from it all. The grounds are well kept and interesting. The landscape natural yet well groomed. Very peaceful, serene and scenic. Could not have picked a better weekend in the fall to utilize all the anemities this owner offers. Large spacious deck, fire pit, gazebo, bikes etc. Would definitely stay here again. However, if you are looking to spend alot of time in Cooperstown and like to be close by,, then you might consider staying within the town itself. For us, this was fabulous & affordable. Thanks!
“Great Find in Cooperstown area”
A Comfort Woods Guesthouse is a wonderful spot to stay when visiting Cooperstown and the area. We found it to be very inviting and comfortable with everything we could possibly need right there. Staying at Comfort Woods was far better then staying at a hotel. At the end of a busy day, we had a home away from home to go to. I highly recommend Comfort Woods Guesthouse particularly for families and would not hesitate to stay there on our next visit to Cooperstown! Theresa Hales Pickering, Ontario
“peaceful, ultimate mountain stay.”
Peaceful, the ultimate mountain stay. We had a great time. Walking trials biking, nature trails and lots of wildlife.
“Dream Park Stay in Cooperstown”
Our family visited Cooperstown for a 12U baseball tournament at Cooperstown Dream Park. We chose Comfort Woods Guesthouse because it was a good price and the property looked unique. Our first impression was wow this is really a country house and that turned out to be the charm. We have two young pre-teen girls and had Grandma and Granpa visit for a few days and we had more than enough room. The terrain around the house is lovely and the hike up the foothills to the waterfall above the house is pretty and a good workout. The only issue for the our trip was heat and bugs outside. The 90+ temps and flys, knats etc kept us inside more than we would have liked but not much you can do about that. The house really is an easy 15 minute drive from Cooperstown and 20 minutes from Dream Park. The overall experience for us at the house was very pleasant and Rick the owner couldn't be nicer. I say thumbs up for Comfort Woods Guesthouse.
“A wonderful place to stay.”
The house is extremely comfortable, well appointed, very clean, and a lovely quiet location, yet near enough to the area's attractions. We had 7 people stay very comfortably. Rick Kugler was very helpful and easy to deal with.
“Warm & welcoming...”
Our family had a delightful stay at the Comfort Woods Guesthouse. The house was very clean and Rick did a great job of prepping us for our stay. The local treats they provided were a very pleasant surprise. We would come back with no hesitation.
this house is funky with it's southwestern decor. Nice open living space, great deck to watch sun sets, great shower, loads of bikes in the storage unit - one for every age! beautiful country setting within easy drive to Cooperstown
“very scenic, peacful, beautiful in the fall”
I went with my boyfriend and another couple. Loved the trail walk in the back of the house, little caves and waterfall. Beautiful in the fall. Loved the shelter patio, nice to sit out at night and look at the stars. Bathroom was clean and enjoyed the decor in it. Liked the kitchen and the fact that there were many pots and dish to use , frig could have been cleaner. I liked the rustic feel of the house but wasn't comfortable because of the many cobwebs and spiders. House had musty smell but so we burned a lot of incense. I also was disappointed that we couldn't use the fire pit because there was no lighter fluid when we were told that there was some for use. Perfect for families.
“Harmony with friends and comfort like home.”
I must say I was relieved when I arrived because I got the day wrong on arrival but the owner was so flexible and kind to let me stay with no problem. The home was clean and the refrigerator was still full of other items but we felt it was great to be able to cook. The counter space was limited for cooking but we managed. The spaciousness of the place was wonderful for all four of us. The location was pretty for peace and quiet and nice to be a small town where we could enjoy the restaurants and shops. Love the beauty of the lakes and mountains. We especially enjoyed the open deck where we could sit late into the evening and talk and share our lives openly. Thank you so much.
