This adorable beach cottage is located right at the famous Windansea Beach. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or just a zen retreat.

Part of a duplex, it has its own private entrance and back patio.

We started with replacing all the windows with new dual pane windows for more comfort.

Then we replaced all the flooring with engineered wood in the living room and new tile in the bedroom and kitchen.

We knocked down some walls around the kitchen making it wide open and able to look over the living room area.

A breakfast nook was built in with comfortable seating and the kitchen has all new quartz counter tops, cabinets and new appliances.

All the new appliances are LG and we now have a dishwasher - yay for that!

We had insulation put in the ceiling for added warmth in winter and to help keep cool in the summer.

There is AC and overhead fans also for your summer comfort.

The interior was painted and new furniture purchased for the living room.

The bathroom now has a walk in shower surrounded by new tiled walls and a new vanity.

There is a full size washing machine and dryer in the garage that you may use.

This laundry facility is also used by La Jolla Vacation Rental housekeeping at times.

The outside of the duplex has also been painted, with new outdoor furniture, a new propane bbq and a whole new fresh look!

We are pet friendly and just a block away is a great bike path for walking the pups. Please note there is a pet fee associated with staying in the cottage.

It is a simple stroll to the famous Windansea Beach and a short walk to lots of fun restaurants and bakeries.

Walk right into town in less than 20 minutes and enjoy the dozens of restaurants, shops, antiques and art galleries that La Jolla has to offer.

The La Jolla Cottage is a place that you won't want to leave and will want to come back every year... Come and experience San Diego in this beautifully updated Cottage.

It is just a 5 minute walk until you are on the sand! We provide beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys, boogie boards and beach wagon all for your enjoyment.

Beach Cruiser Bikes are available upon request.

There is off-street parking, your own garage with modern high efficiency front loading washer and dryer.

WiFi and cable are provided and there is a very comfortable queen size pull-out couch as well - with extra bedding.

The back patio has a gas grill and offers lots of privacy.

We are pet friendly and it is just a short walk to a lovely park and bike path where all the locals run the dogs.


No Smoking is allowed inside any of our properties. You are welcome to smoke in outside areas of the home.

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced.

For homes that allow pets there are certain rules that always apply. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes unattended. If you plan to spend time away from your pet please find a doggy daycare. You can call our office for recommendations.

Response from the manager We are very sorry you did not enjoy the Windansea Retreat, however you note the stove is from the 1920's which is completely false, it may not be a gourmet stove, but it is only about 5-6 years old, basic gas stove that works perfectly. The bathroom is not updated but is very clean, bright and well maintained. You also mention the unit is dark inside, which can be the case depending on the time of day, as there are several windows throughout the cottage, but during certain times of the day the front home will block the direct sunlight. The cottage is very popular with our returning guests, and no it is not a brand new home or fully renovated, it is however very clean and kept in great shape and is the perfect cottage for a beach stay and very affordable.

How do damage deposits work?
