“Relaxing, Private, Romantic, Clean, Great Hospitality”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2011

My husband and I stayed at John's Romantic Cottage for our anniversary and also for his birthday. Anne had some nice surpises for us when we arrived. She greeted us with a bottle of wine and baked a cake for my husband's birthday. She also gave us a ride into Kilgarvan so we could enjoy the music festival and arranged for us a car to take us back home. The cottage itself is charming. It was very clean and very private. It was comfortable and each night when we returned we felt like we were returning home. There is a fireplace and anne supplies wood. Anne also gave us fresh eggs on a few mornings fresh baked scones. Anne also gave us tips on where to go. The area has so much to see and do. Kilgarvan is in the middle of the Ring of Kerry as well as the Ring of Beara. We plan to return on our next trip to Ireland. Thank you anne, for helping us enjoy our trip to Ireland.

“The Perfect Honeymoon Cottage”

Reviewed 9 May 2011

John's Cottage is a wonderful Honeymoon Cottage. Located in easy reach of the Ring of Kerry, Kenmare and Killarney National Park there is always something to see and do. We had an amazing week and it will be one we will always remember. Thank you so much anne for the work you have put in to make the cottage such a lovely place to stay. It was a real dream come true for us. We definitely would love to visit Ireland again.

“A wonderful cottage for a couple or a small family”

It is a very nice and tidy cottage and even a very good place for starting trips all around Kerry and Cork. Kitchen and bathroom are very comfortable. Anne and her family were wonderful.

“Great cottage”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2010

Hi, We staid in this cottage for a week in july 2010 with two adults and two children (age 4 and 6) The children loved it, we loved it... It is neat and cozy and everything is there you need... There is a big kitchen which has all you need to cook, eat or (dish)wash or just sit and relax and read a magazine. The living room is very cozy and has a fireplace, radio and small tv with video player (thanks for the Dvds, Anne)... and is great to relax after a day of activities. The bathroom has a shower and (bubbel)bath, nice... The main bedroom is large with all comfort, second bedroom is a bit smaller (single bed). A spare bed is available. No problem with young kids. The owners (Anne and Patrick) are very helpfull and generous... I highly advise this cottage, you won't be disappointed! Cheers, Geert

“Perfect for a relaxing, romantic Irish holiday”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2010

John's Cottage in Kenmare is a perfect retreat in the Irish countryside. We spent one week there after a week's trip through Ireland, which was a very relaxing thing to do. The nearby town of Kenmare offers many great restaurants, pubs and shops. It is perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park and the peninsulas more southwards. A rental car is useful for getting around. We just loved John's cottage: It was clean, spacious and carefully furnished. Highlights are the fireplace and jacuzzi bath, which make it a very romantic place. It's definitely great for couples. The kitchen has everything you could wish for: electric kettle, coffee maker, modern stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. Anne and Patrick are great hosts. For example, we were welcomed with fresh scones waiting for us in the kitchen! They take care of their guests, provide for a comfortable atmosphere, but don't get invasive. An insider's tip is Anne's home made brown bread - if you're lucky, she might give you the recipe...! We also had fun with their dog, Scruffy. Anne and Patrick are farmers, so their guests get an authentic impression of Irish agriculture. They have thoughtfully rebuilt old farm buildings to offer old-style charm combined with modern conveniences in the three cottages. What probably says most about our opinion on John's Cottage: We would go back right away!

“the ideal and unforgettable hideaway”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2010

John's cottage is a beautiful and peaceful cottage in a stunning area where you can really chill out and recharge your batteries. Anne has tastefully decorated the cottage, it is really cosy, romantic and genuine and has all the necessary amenities. Plus, weather permitting, you can relax and eat outside. Last, but not least, Anne is a wonderful hostess, we had good craic!! We absolutely liked the whole experience and would have loved to stay longer.
