Bigger house than expected! Staff at big bear destination were very accomodating. Great experience, would rent this house again.

“Very roomy”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2014

Very roomy and warm to stay. I really enjoyed the balcony, however the jacuzzi was very disappointing. It worked first night, but not the next days and didn't get to the preferable temperature. The bedroom was roomy and cozy to stay in. I enjoy the game room which was quite big along with the foosball table and pool table. The ping pong table was breaking down and need a repair in the future. The extra chairs were breaking down as well which needs replacement. Overall, the place was very comforting, clean, and spacious. With minimal flaws, I would definitely rent out this cabin again.

“Great Mountain View”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2013

Overall it was a great setup for our family, grandma, grandpa;2 grownup sons and their wives and 5 children. The downstairs playroom was a life saver and the kids enjoyed it the most. Some participation by adults were also enjoyed. The view of the ski slopes was really beautiful and this was in the summer. We could see the chair lifts from the livingroom window. The propane tank needed replacing and a part for the jaquzzi was needed but that was taken care of in a very timely manner. At the end of our stay I was quite surprised to find out that the second upstairs bedroom did not have a closet. In its place was a 12"inch fixture, coming off of the wall to hang clothes on. Since it was summer the upstairs rooms were kind of stuffy and ceiling fans would have been nice. Wearing shoes was essential on the outside deck, since some of the boards were coming up and the paint was peeling. We stayed 4 nights so with this amount of people a full size refrigerator would have been nice, but we made do. Destination Big Bear was very easy and accommodating to work with.

“We will definitely use Destination Big Bear again.”

We chose a cabin from Destination Big Bear for our family trip to the mountains. We had so much fun. The cabin we stayed in was call Big Bear Lake Haven. We were close to Bear Mountain Ski resort, even close enough to walk to the zoo. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin and all the amenities it had to offer. It was great being able to play pool while the kids played ping pong. There was even a record player and a bunch of old records, so cool. Sitting in the hot tub on the deck and looking at the stars was my favorite part. We were just minutes away from stores and the lake. I can't wait to go back. The team at Destination Big Bear are very friendly and helpful, thank yo so much.

Tried to book this cabin. The website shows it is available. I've made numerous inquiries and have not heard from the "owner" / Manager.

“Excellent location with all the amenities!”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2012

We were 3 familes (10 total) with kids ages 5 to 9 and the house was perfect! Amazing livingroom couch that fit all 10 of us was cozy near the fireplace and close to the kitchen. Great location very close to the slopes (but hardly walking distance with kids). Great view of Bear Mountain slopes outside the livingroom window. Snow Gods were good to us and dumped a foot of fresh snow before our arrival - very scenic area and some small areas near the house for sledding. The house is in good condition, we had most of everything we needed in the kitchen (ended up buying a peeler). The pots and pans could use replacement but the rest was perfect. The game room was the highlight for the kids. Pool table, foosball and ping pong were all used heavily along with the TV in that room. Great area for adults and kids to hang out. Especially enjoyed the turntable and old records to play. Ok some from the 80's - is that old? We had an issue with cable/internet first day and someone was out there within an hour to fix the problem. Great service!! Thanks for use of your cabin - we would come and stay again!

“It was absolutely amazing!!!”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2012

The house was absolutely amazing! It was very spacious and had everything we wanted. The game room was awesome, we all enjoyed it very much. We cannot wait to come back for another visit. The location for us was perfect, not to far out from the slopes or the stores and restaurants. I think the best part was being able to bring. The whole family and to have something for everyone to do. The least part was having to go home after spending two great nights and 3 days at this beautiful getaway. Thanks for an amazing trip!!

“House did not live up to internet description or expectations.”

Home needs lots of upgrading from pans to sheets. Renovation of home is necessary especially in bathrooms and kitchen. We did have a fun time with the game room and the location isn't bad at all. Television and jacuzzi needs to be fixed or upgraded as well.

Response from the manager We appreciate our Guest Reviews. In response to this review, we just recently put over $30,000 worth of upgrades into the cabin including but not limited to: Repainting outside of cabin, abatement, BRAND new gameroom with pool table, ping pong and foosball. We are glad you like this room! Gameroom features toungue and groove floor to ceiling walls and a bonus room built in for playing cards - open to the gameroom for all to enjoy. New paint and decor throughout. We have only had positive reviews on this cabin and we take our concerning reviews seriously. We also have plans to re-do the bathroom countertops and eventually the kitchen countertops, although we do not feel it is needed based on everything other guests have commented on. The cabin is not a modern cabin and we not wish for it to be since we would like our guests to know they are getting a cabin feel with extraordinary views and stellar location as well as all the amenties - hottub, game tables, pets welcome, etc... Oh - we already had 2 flat screen TV's just waiting to be installed. One is a 40" which will go into the gameroom and the other is 46" to be installed into the Living Room - both are LCD tv's and brand new. I wish we had them in for you before your stay! We will check the inventory and condition of the pots and pans and everything inbetween, if they need replacing - WE GUARANTEE IT WILL BE DONE in a timely manner. Again, thank you for your reviews and your help in making our cabin better for all to enjoy! Best Regards!

“Treehaus paradise!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Treehaus Chalet! It is such a lovely cabin in a beautiful setting and the owners are obviously gifted in hospitality! The place was immaculate and had all the comforts of home for the five of us. It was coz yet spacious and was the perfect spot for us to spend a few days together. It was off the beaten track but also amazingly conveniently close to everything we needed. Definitely 5 stars! :)

“Great views, Difficult Driveway”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2010

Treehaus is clean, fun and well-located with a beautiful view. The only challenge is the driveway which was difficult to maneuver even in our SUV. Overall, not a big issue to overcome and we would definitely stay there again!
