“Big Bear Fun”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

Our family went to spend Easter at the Grand Mountain Retreat. The cabin was perfect. Great open kitchen. All the rooms worked great for each of us. Loved the privacy of back yard. Once my husband tightened the screws on the swings, the kids had a lot of fun on them. Children and adults all had a good time. We hope to go again.

“Awesome house!”

Reviewed 30 Jan 2014

This house is amazing! It is big enough to accommodate a large group comfortably. The house is well equipped with everything that you need... We really liked the location as well. Private but close enough to restaurants and shops.

Our extended family had a wonderful time during our stay at the Grand Mountain Retreat! We had children ages 3 - 12, young adults of 19 - 22, and all of us had fun! The ability to hike on and near the property was a plus, as was the amazing back yard with playhouse. The younger ones built forts and had snowball fights. We all enjoyed time on the deck with outdoor fireplace and made S'mores. The full service, roomy kitchen was very functional, and there was ample room for the 16 of us to eat together. All of the rooms were comfortably furnished and the separate bathrooms were appreciated. When we had a problem with the TV, someone from the rental office was there in a timely manner and helped us solve the problem. The large main room on the first level gave the adults space to play games and watch TV while the younger ones enjoyed the family room upstairs with large sofa and air hockey table. All in all, it was a "win-win", and we had a marvelous time!!

“Large, beautiful, comfortable home with lots of privacy and amen”

We were pleasantly surprised that this cabin (large house) was actually nicer than we had anticipated. It is at the very top of Moonridge, which is the mountain right next to Bear and Summit mountains. It is only a few minutes up the hill from town, but it feels miles and miles away. It is on a gigantic flat lot on a cul-de-sac. The house was right next to hiking trail and the backyard went on forever into the hills. There is plenty of parking on the circular driveway. There was a nice playground set for the kids along with a basketball court. The outdoor jacuzzi was large and fit eight of us no problem. Inside the house was first class all the way. There were four bedroom suites which each had their own televisions and dvd players. There was a large family room downstairs next to the gigantic kitchen and another upstairs. Each had its own big screen TV. Two of the bathrooms had heated floors and another had a steamer. We split the house with another family and had plenty of room left over. There are four bedrooms and five full baths. Each of the bedrooms had a fold out couch as well, so you can fit a lot of people in this place. It is very large, I would estimate 3,500 or 4,000 square feet, so you never feel trapped. All of the the furniture is very nice and comfortable. All in all, a great place to spend a vacation - we will definitely be back.

“Great Cabin”

The cabin gave us a lot of room for our family. We had a big yard as well, to enjoy some hiking.

“Fantastic Cabin!”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2013

We recently attended a small event here. Our friends rented this cabin and it was perfect. Very beautiful. We plan to rent this place the next time we are up here. The managers were very friendly and helpful to those of us that have never been to Big Bear Lake. The yard is very large with plenty of trees and privacy. We didn't have access to the garage but it did have plenty of parking. This is a great place for larger parties, kids and pets! We will be back! Best Regards, Friends of Wisinski family

“beautiful location!!! customer service could improve...”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2012

the home and location were stunning! lots of space, well laid out and such a pleasure be stayin there. customer service was an issue and linens were an issue. - there was a beeping noise and it took hours to get it tended too - when the handyman came to fix it (it was a smoke detector) he didn't have a ladder. - the blanketed and linens were not nice compared to the luxury house. we had to keep the heat on all night to stay warm. - TV and Shower amenities had no instructions. very frustrating and time consuming to try and figure out. the handyman helped us with the TV but we found out too late that the steam system was complicated had to do without. - the toilet paper supply was not enough - and for a rental so expensive, it was a drag to have to take our bags of trash with us to the dump.

“Perfect getaway for family get together!”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2012

We rented this house for three days, and we are a group of grandparents, children and grandchildren who loved its location and layout. It is perfect for adults with children because there are only 2 floors and lots of space for people to relax in quiet and rooms large enough to do things together. Upstairs living room is large and perfect setup for WII games. The air hockey table was used the entire time we were there, and there are a few board games in the cupboard. Kitchen is loaded with dishes, cooking utensils, and pots and pans to make large meals and a huge island to seat all the kids. Bedrooms are huge and bedding is comfy.Bathrooms are spacious. This house is on a large piece of land which backs up to the forest and has the most amazing children's swingset/playset right out the back door. Porches in front and in back gave us lots of room to sit outside and the back porch has a fireplace. We received excellant service from this rental agency however I have a couple minor complaints. This house boasts a basketball court, however the backboard has no hoop so it is just an asphalt square. Bring your own cleaning products as there was no dishwashing soap, no window cleaner or degreaser of any kind.Couldn't find a pot holder of any kind. The house was on the surface clean but cobwebs and carpets needed attention.Tv in one bedroom was not cable ready so would only run Dvds. Make sure there is linen for all beds when you check in. We didn't figure out there were no linens for two beds until we went to use them late at night and no one answered my calls at the emergency number. They were brought to us quickly after I called the office during business hours. This house is wonderful and the company took care of us after they were called. You will be happy to spend your time and money on this beautiful home high on the mountain and we look forward to renting it again.

“Great Design, Large and Roomy and Good Location”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2010

The house was wonderful with lots of room for everyone. It has obviously been loved by many and is in need of some electrical repairs and new cookware. You can live with the shortcomings because the house and outside deck are so enjoyable. But, it would be wonderful with a little new paint, outside speakers that work, inside lights that work and don't flicker and new pots and pans with fitting lids and tight handles. More than one kitchen towel and a couple of dishcloths would be fantastic! Would I stay there again - you bet! I might bring a few extra things but all-in-all, house was pretty clean, bedding was clean and the nights out on the deck talking and sipping wine were superb!
