“Its like taken out of a magazine, a place to spend the vacations you deserve!”
The penthouse itself is a dream come true. The pictures embrace the lovely and beautiful place, but once you get out of the elevator it just takes your breath away. It is undeniable that Cancun was an unforgettable experience, and one of the main reasons is because of penthouse #2000. It had all the commodities needed to spend an amazing time in an amazing beach. Trying to find a place was difficult until we fell in love with this one. Tim Miller made it even easier to book it since his help was undeniably one of the best I have ever had. He was super kind and available to answer my questions and doubts. As soon as we arrive at the place Francis was waiting for us with margaritas and one of the best guacamole I have ever tried. The views were astonishing since you have perfect views both from the beach and from the lake, it made it wonderful to see the sunrise from the main bedroom and the sunset from the terrace. The penthouse was extremely clean. Both bedrooms had their own private bathrooms with comfortable beds and space to put our luggage. The pools were also clean and perfect for the sunny and hot weather. The kitchen had everything needed to cook our own meals. There were also towels available for both taking a bath and going to the beach. This place was wonderful, there are definitely no complaints about anything. The service was spectacular and the place itself is like taken out of a magazine. I cannot wait to go back to for another amazing week.
This penthouse is extremly dirty and in a very bad order! The first thing we saw when we stepped into was, that the windows were extremly dirty and the penthouse looked run down and much smaller than on the internet photos (without terrace and pools max 80 m2). When we walked around we saw that also the terrace was dirty(cockroaches included)! Also the water in the pools was not really proper so we did not go in after we saw what was swimming inside (insects, soap etc). Between the pool an the wooden floor, we could see condoms and dozen tins. When I asked Francis to clean them, she called someone to look after. But I didnt believe my eyes, the guy just sweeped the barbage under instead of taking it away! Ugh! The absolute no go was, that the beachtowels had not been washed, they smelled after old sweat from former guests!!! Third day, the aircondition did not work anymore. After calling and waiting for 5 hours, 2 guys came to say the the gas was empty! So they do not controll! You sweat there at over 30 degrees! Every sliding door inside the penthouse is damaged and dirty. The white toilet brush was already brown. Some lights did not work. Sink was broken. I could list 20 more things that had not been repaired or cleaned. On the 1st day we asked Francis how save the penthouse is, because you can't lock the maindoor which is a liftdoor. She answered « Don't worry. Only two people have the keys, you and the owner, but he isn't in town. So nobody can come into. » On third day, 2 guys from the hotel rang downstairs but as we did not know them, we did not send the lift downstairs. Eventhough, 1 minute later they stepped interference into the penthouse. Don't get fooled by Tim and his promises. I think my photos say more than 1000 words.
Response from the owner Hi, I am Tim Miller. I used to rent and manage only our own property in Cancun. Over the years I have come to know a few other owners and they have entrusted me to take care of their places as well. This is one of those places. I consider this owner a friend so it is especially hurtful to see this review. It was a painful eye opener. Readers can see that we had received a very positive review from a stay here just the month prior. (Post date was Oct 2013, stay was Aug 2013). Several key changes have been made since the review posted Oct 6. For example, I have hired a full time professional staff member for maintenance/repairs. This was a big step as I take care of only 6 properties total. And I think the results will prove to be excellent. Response times will often be reduced to minutes rather than hours. Recognizing that our standards were compromised here is another point. But moreover resolving to have that consistency for each and every new arrival was vital to the success of the changes we have made over the past several months. It can be very disheartening to have someone rave about your product and service one month and then the next have someone saying the exact opposite. I will say that Francis is rated highly by many other reviews for this property and others for a reason. Francis cleans #2000 and others and also welcomes our guests to Cancun for 4 of the properties. I encourage the reader to look at other reviews for not just this property but others that I rent and manage and that Francis cleans. I think you will find people express a very different opinion of both myself, Francis, and the service and cleanliness we provide. On the issue of honesty I will stand up on this one. I never attempt to deceive as the person here implies. Did we drop the ball on this one? Yes, we did. We did offer our guest consideration on more than one occasion but it was denied. I will not comment in a negative way regarding our guests beyond that. Nonetheless #2000 was not up to the standards set for our guest’s arrival on this day. Therefore our guests were upset and they had a right to be. As of this writing (March 19, 2014) I am in Cancun. We have had guests in #2000 for nearly every single week in Jan, Feb and March of 2014. We have guests now also. I have met in person with our guests who are staying in #2000 right now. They are exceedingly happy. As we parted he smiled and said to me, “it is the vacation of a lifetime!”

The penthouse is breathtaking. The pictures are great, but once you arrive and step out of the elevator, you feel the beauty of it all. It was hot and humid, but the temperature of the unit was quite cold...we actually adjusted it as we were too cold. The views are spectacular. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the master suite and enjoyed the sunset in the evening from the balcony. Everything was literally as if we were home. Frances and I made a Walmart run, and once I returned, my partner nor I ever left the penthouse. The kitchen had everything we needed. A small barbecue was available. We had ice, two swimming pools, an ipod dock, tv, towels, deck chairs and cooler. The only thing lacking was the functioning of the jets in the upstairs pool. Frances was just awesome. She answered all of our questions, made sure were knew where everything was, how it all worked and reassured us that we could contact her for anything. Tim is an excellent property manager. He too reassured us that we could contact him at anytime, we did and he always made sure to answer all of our tireless questions. Once you confirm your plans, Tim sends a confirmation email with an abundance of helpful information. Read the information. We read it, and it made for a smooth transition into our Home away From Home.
A little background-After much debate about where to go and where to stay for our family vacation, we settled on Cancun again. This was our second trip in four years. This trip was for 19 people-ranging in age from 6 months to 80 something years. Also, let me tell you that in day and age where customer service is mediocre at best, there were a few shining stars during our trip that went above and beyond their call of duty. Starting with Tim Miller. Tim was so patient with all of my 5000 emails to him. I was always asking new questions, and he answered every email, every question and rather quickly. The website was very helpful and chock full of great information (print out the information and take it with you, like my mother did). Tim also mentions Mike and Mike was indeed awesome. We never felt like we were 'alone' in Cancun. Natalia at the front desk provided amazing customer service. She got us on the right buses to the right malls, flea markets, and to atm machines that dispensed american currency vs. pesos. Look for Jose at the bar and Raul for hotel activities and club information. The unit itself-Four people stayed in this unit. The pictures shown are very accurate. I have never seen my nieces and nephews or my own kids so much as I had this trip, which was great. We utilized both pools in the unit, all day every day during our week's stay. Early in the morning, I would go to the rooftop deck and watch the beautiful sunrises. From the bedroom window, I could watch the kids on the beach, which was important to me even though most of the kids are teenagers/young adults. The food was good and there was a variety and a different theme daily. The inclusive price offered to the condo units was worth $35 a day and that does include alcoholic beverages. (Lunch in Cancun was about $20) The unit did get warm during the day however, as stated, pull the shades and the a/c would keep the unit cool. Definitely looking forward to returning soon.
This penthouse was absoultely amazing. There is a private elevator that functions as your front door, truely feel like a rockstar. The views are ridiculously unbelieveable. The place was really clean, and the rooms were nice. The 2 private pools were awesome (this was not necessarily the case with the hotels pools). The owner Tim Millar was great to communicate with before we left,and once we arrived the staff was very friendly. I would def reccommend calling Mical (Mike) he has alot of information, and is very helpful. He seems genuinely interested in making sure our vacation was the best, and getting us the best deal. His snorkeling trip was a great experience. We purchased the all-inclusive at the hotel, the food was very disappointing, but the drinks and service made up for it. One of the nights we hired the private cook to come to the penthouse, I would def reccommend this option. Francais and her sister were so nice and friendly and made us gormet mexican food. It was not expensive and definately worth it. I would not suggest this place if you have small children because of the spiral staircase thru-out the penthouse, but everyone else would be silly not to take advantage of the great deals Tim has to offer, this is 100x better than being trapped in a hotel room. The rooftop penthouse is the only way to go.
