“A Wonderful Place to Stay”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2015

Our party included 6 adults, 2 couples in each bedroom. Setting the booking with Simon was a very easy process, great communication throughout. Upon arrival, Geraldine and Simon met us with an assortment of scones, breads, juice and milk, and had the teapot ready. Very welcome after a long overnight journey from the US. The property is easily within walking distance of O'Connell Street and other centralised Dublin popular spots. Geraldine recommended some wonderful pubs for us to visit. We also were able to walk to the areas where we picked up day tour buses to take us to other parts of the country. A Tesco grocery store is nearby as well as many butcher shops and open market stalls along Moore Street, which was wonderful for cooking meals in the great kitchen this property has. They provide a nice walking map to help visitors initially navigate the streets to walk into town; but we quickly found some shorter alternate routes.. Area is very quiet and you definitely get a flavor for living in a Dublin neighborhood, which we enjoyed! Rooms, linens, towels, kitchen supplies are all excellent. Everything is here to make your stay complete. Property has a lot of information about what to do/see in the area. Geraldine and Simon are more than willing to answer any questions. They also pointed us to resources to arrange our transportation to/from the airport. While we didn't have any children in our party, the accommodation is kid-friendly! We highly recommend staying here if you're headed for Dublin.

“Home away from home!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

A great big thanks to Simon for making our stay so comfortable! It was a pleasure meeting you and having someone so professional to deal with. Everyone loved the house - especially the kitchen! Being Irish we tend to hang out there quite a bit - chatting & lots of cups of tea. Mom is still talking about it! The welcome package of soda bread, scones & jam etc were well apprecated. I've passed info on to friends planning trips to Dublin and also mentioned your Glasnevin property (BTW the changes look great). Hope to get back to Dublin real soon and will definetly be getting in touch Simon. Thanks again for everything.

Response from the owner Hi Frances, Nice meeting you all and thank you for your wonderful feedback All the best and take care Simon

“Family stay for May wedding”

Reviewed 30 May 2012

Our family, including my parents, brother, sister, fiancee, and myself stayed here for a week during which my older brother got married in Dublin. The house was perfect for our family and we especially enjoyed the large family living spaces. The weather was perfect for our stay and we really enjoyed the gorgeous courtyard. The location was a great starting point for touring throughout the city and we had no problem walking to City Center - about 15-20 minutes away. Simon was incredibly accommodating for check-in, meeting us at shortly after 6 in the morning so we could get some sleep before starting the day. Thanks again to Simon and Jo for the wonderful stay!

Response from the owner Hi Katies, Thank you for your kind comments, happy the wedding went so well Have a great summer All the best & take care Simon

“Stunning house, great location”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2012

We were very excited about our trip to Dublin and couldn't wait to see the house, and when we did, we were blown away. It's beautiful, in a great location and surprisingly spacious. The little touches, from fresh baked scones and chocolates by the beds to milk in the fridge, were much appreciated and rivalled that of some of the best hotels. We even found shopping bags for our trip to the nearby Tesco! We all had a fantastic time and thoroughly recommend renting this house. Simon was a pleasure to deal with from booking through to departure.

Response from the owner Hi Mary, Thank you for your kind comments, great to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much Sorry i could not meet you in person but i am happy my house manager looked after you Have a great summer All the best & take care Regards Simon

“Excellent family accomodations”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2011

Near City's townhouse rental on auburn Street offers one a comfortable place to call home while in Dublin with a large and inviting kitchen that is well equipped and a nice little outdoor terrace that is but a 15-20 minute walk to the City Centre. There are grocery stores in the area as well as restaurants if one does not want to venture into the City Centre. Given the fact that the heat is controlled, our only suggestion would be to inquire about paying for additional heat during the cold weather months. Other than that, you will have a lovely stay in Dublin.

Response from the owner Hi Sarah, Thank-you for your feedback, concerning the heat situation you are correct in saying that the heating system is on a timer but we have found in the past that the duration that the heat turns on & off has been sufficient up to now and as i stated upon your check-in if you needed the heat to be on for a longer duration just to call me & i would reset timer for longer periods. As our rates our all inclusive of all utilities we have no problem in the heating system been on for longer periods.Going forward & based on your feedback i will make sure that i explain clearly to future guests how to use the booster on the heating control panel,as i did not in your case. Again thank-you for your invaluable comments All the best Simon

“Excellent accommodation & location”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2010

We stayed at this wonderful accommodation with a group of friends which consisted of 6 adults and 2 small children. There was plenty of room for everyone. Communication from both the owners and manager was fantastic. They accommodated our needs e.g. extra travel cot/highchair/bedding. The kitchen is wonderful and the home-made scones were a very warm welcome! The location is great as it is within walking distance of the town centre, saving on taxis. Also at the accommodation were a number of useful guide books/leaflets and take-away menu's. We had a lovely Chinese take-away! Overall a fantastic house which we would highly recommend!
