“Great place”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2014

We spent a week during Christmass time in Hilda 2 with our 2 girls and our baby. The place is spotless and perfectly equiped, and Sdran has been of great help to turn this stay in Dubrovnik into great hollidays. Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Hello Desrousseaux family glad You liked Your stay in House Hilda 2 and Dubrovnik. It was really nice to meet You all, thanks Srdan

“Very well located apartement with a great view”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2013

We stayed at house Hilda 2 in October 2013 with our two children. The apartement is clean, very well located and has everything you need. Our children loved the kittens on the small place in front of the house. We enjoyed sitting in the kitchen with a wide open window especially because of the great view. You have to climb very steep steps to get to the house. The good thing about this is that you have a very calm spot and you can relax after strolling through the very crowded city of Dubrovnik.

Response from the owner Thanks, best to You and Your family Srdan

“House Hilda 2, Steve and Sue's review”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2013

House Hilda is a clean, roomy, well equiped accomodation, nestled under the highest tower on the wall, the Minceta. It is situated near the end of one of the steep streets radiating off the central Placa and has lofty views across the old town to the cathedral and the harbour fortress which a quite breathtaking. Srdan, the owner is so accomodating, his helpfulness, willingness to assist and downright efficiency with regard to meeting us and seeing us off plus provision of information promptly whenever called upon was the crowning touch to an all too short stay at this wonderful destination. Response from the owner Thanks Steve and Sue It was privilage to meet You.Hope rest of vacation was the pleasent one Srdan

“Great Location!”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2013

This is a lovely clean and airy apartment in an excellent location for exploring Dubrovnik old town. The view from the kitchen window is spectacular. All very clean and nicely laid out, with air con. The landlord Srdan was a star - He was very helpful. He came to meet us and take us to the apartment, and helped carry our luggage too! He was very friendly and was easily contacted should we need any help with anything. He also arranged to help us take our bags to a taxi (which he kindly booked for us). Superb service!! The apartment is also quite nicely situated in a quiet part of the town, which means you can breathe after being in the crowded bits. Overall, an excellent few days to get to know a wonderful part of the world. Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Hi Andy it was real pleasure to meet You and Your family, hope to see You again in Dubrovnik Srdan

“Excellente location à Dubrovnik - Old town”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2013

We have spent an amazing week in august at House Hilda 2 with our 2 children. The location is very convenient, inside the Old Town but away from the crowd and the noise. The apartment is spotless, well equipped for a short stay. It is very bright and has a picturesque view on the roofs and the church tower. Srjan and his wife provided us an excellent service. The booking was easy, Srjan confirmed the apartment availability and answered to our questions immediately. He was friendly and helpful, organized our transfer from the airport, assisted us in organizing our transfer to Korcula Island, called to make sure someone greet us at our next destination, made sure everything's fine for us. We highly recommend House Hilda 2.

Response from the owner Hi Anne happy You had great vacation, hope to see You soon, best to Your family Srdan

“Excellent Stay at House Hilda 2”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2013

My wife and I stayed at House Hilda 2 in Dubrovnik for our honeymoon. From the very beginning, it was a wonderful stay with excellent service from Srdan, the owner. He met us at the Pile Gate and escorted us to the house, even carrying our heavy bag up the many, steep stairs to the apartment. The apartment was in immaculate condition, with two bedrooms, a nice bathroom, and a very nice kitchen. The view from the kitchen and one bedroom is gorgeous, and the location is great - in the Old Town, very close to a couple great restaurants (Nishta and Lady PiPi), a great wine bar (D'Vino) and the best ice cream shop ever (Dolce Vita). The one caveat is that there are around 100 very steep stairs up to the apartment. I am 26 and in pretty good shape and was quite winded every time we got to the apartment. If this does not bother you, then I would absolutely recommend House Hilda 2. The stairs are nice because they separate you just enough from the bars and restaurants that the nights are very quiet. In sum, we had a truly amazing stay in Dubrovnik. We highly recommend House Hilda 2 and Srdan.

Response from the owner Thanks Patricia and John I really enjoyed meeting You and I am happy You had great honeymoon. All the best Srdan

“Perfect apartment in the centre of Dubrovnik”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

I stayed here for 4 nights with a friend in the middle of May. Originally we were only going to stay for 3 nights but we liked it so much we extended our stay at short notice which was helpful. Srdan met us at Pile Gate and walked us to the apartment, carrying our bag up the 123 stairs! He showed us around the apartment, provided maps, the wifi password and other advice, as well as giving us details to text, call or email him if we needed anything. The apartment was spotlessly clean and modernly decorated. There were 2 large bedrooms, a kitchen with a large table and a bathroom. The beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets, air con and heating in each room. The view from the kitchen window was breath taking and we spent most evenings sat looking out the window across the old town and city walls and feeding the family of cats and kittens below. The location of the apartment was perfect, directly off the main street in the Old Town, just seconds away from all of the shops, cafes and restaurants. It is up 123 stairs though which in the heat was quite difficult. There were shops and bakeries near by and all of the equipment in the apartment to cook for yourself, but we opted to eat out every night. The only down side was we couldn't find any wine glasses in the apartment! On our last day Srdan met us again to carry our bag down the stairs and he walked us to the bus stop and told us which bus to get which was extremely helpful. For the price we paid the apartment was amazing and I would without a doubt recommend it to family and friends and stay there again if I return to Dubrovnik.

Response from the owner Hi Nicola thanks for the review. It was nice to meet You both and I promise to take care of kittens(all three of them).Hope to see You again Srdan

“This place is a gem within a gem!”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2012

House Hilda was recommended to us by a friend who had done a lot of research prior to their trip to Croatia. And did we ever get lucky! Great location, just up the hill from the main street of old town, almost directly under the upper portion of the city wall, so it's convenient and yet very quiet (except for the church bells, but you aren't going to get away from them anywhere!). The apartment itself is immaculate and modern, with two bedrooms. The one in the front, and the kitchen, have a beautiful view across old town. We loved hanging out the window and watching the sky change color throughout the day, the city, the tourists passing by, and the local cats who hang out in the garden across the courtyard. The steep, narrow climb up to the apartment can seem a bit daunting at first, but it wasn't long before we were traversing up and down multiple times a day. Better than a Stairmaster! Be sure to have Srdan's cell phone number. Texting him with our arrival time and location made it really easy to meet him when we arrived. Don't know if we would have easily found the apartment on our own. Plus, he carried our (heavy) bags up the stairs to the apartment. Wonderful man! He was also very gracious to arrange our transfer to the airport when we left and carried the bags back out. (The Dubrovnik airport is a good half hour from the old city and a taxi will cost about 35 euros) We were thrilled with the price, and the fact that there was free, fast Wifi, a great shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Definitely take the cable car up the mountain. Plan to be there for sunset. Have a snack or drink in the outdoor restaurant, relax and enjoy one of the most spectacular views around. Also, take the time to really enjoy the views from the city wall. Get up there early before the cruise ship crowds. Both easy walks from the apartment. We didn't have enough time in Dubrovnik, so we're planning to go back. And we will definitely stay at House Hilda again!
