We loved Jenny's Beach House. The aqua water is right out your door. The place is clean and inviting. Don was helpful. I will stay there again next time.
“A wonderful getaway place to stay”
We stayed in the Nu house. It is very comfortable, clean and spacious place to stay. It had a gas cook top, an oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, one double bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. A cane lounge suite and dining room table was in the open plan together with a CD player & TV. There was a gas barbque and 4 wooden chairs & table on the deck and loungers out on the grass. We spent a lot of our down time out on the large deck overlooking the beutiful view of the lagoon. The weather was very hot and humid. It was so good to get out of bed and jump in the lagoon for a swim before breakfast. This part of the lagoon has very little coral, so our swims were not interrupted by having to look out where we were stepping. The only thing I would fault is the house needs security screens on ranchsliders to allow a breeze through the house at night. (We were warned to be security concious on our arrival.) Otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay.
“Throughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday.”
We were very fortunate to spend 2 weeks in Raratonga and in Jenny's Beach Houses. The first week was spent in the older property which has fantastic access to the beach [30 feet away from the deck] the house has everything you need including a washing machine, but it is a little tired and could do with some new furniture. After 5 days we moved into Jenny's newer house located next door, this house was fantastic. Again we had the same 'in your dreams' beach and ocean within 30 ft of the deck but to go with it we had a modern house. Again everything you need is included in the house, just newer. The ocean is gental and clean with tonnes of fish around coral reefs with the nearest reef being about 15 feet off the shore in waist deep warm water. The house is situated on a very good beach, probably one of the better beaches on the island. The house comes with kayaks which were used all the time. Our kids, 12 & 8 went snorkelling and kayaking every day. There is very little to do on the island but this should not be taken in a negative way - doing nothing is wonderful! There are little shops quite close to the house where you can get milk and bread plus other things. The main supermarket is in town so are the souvenier shops [not many],a bus circles the island every hour. The town is closed on a Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. We hired scooters which gave us freedom to roam and highly recommended. The roads are OK and the traffic is slow [50k max]. No traffic lights and only 1 roundabout. There are resturants on the island but not loads. You will not find McDonalds or any other fast food outlets. Ate loads of yellow fin tuna which was melt in your mouth, loads of friut available [next door used to give us starfriut, papaya and guave picked from her garden every day]. The only downside to this holiday was coming home!
