“Great Rental!”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2012

I called the Breeda, owner as arranged prior to our arrival and she was waiting for us at the house, showing us around and giving us info about the town and day trips. Breeda is very personable and easygoing, making our 'check-in' very easy. Burnham View was much larger than expected-our group of 4 adults had plenty of room to spread out. The house was quite clean with plenty of everything from dishes and glasses to condiments and dish/laundry soap. Between the setup of the house and the convience of the grocery stores, cooking dinners during our stay was a breeze! The location is perfect--right in town; close to shops and pubs. There is wifi in the house and it worked well. Thanks for a lovely stay, it's definitely in our plans to return to Dingle in the future!

“As good as it gets”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2012

Having just spent four nights in the Burnham View Townhouse I can't imagine a better place to stay if you're planning on visiting Dingle. Firstly, the location is as good as it gets. Some might consider it to be slightly on the edge of the town, but in a town the size of Dingle that means you're still within very short walking distance of everything you could want - a supermarket two minutes down the hill, great pubs and restaurants all around, and the sea about five mins away. The house itself is deceptively huge - 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms over three floors as well as a spacious kitchen and living room mean that up to eight people can easily stay without stepping on one another's toes or fighting over the shower. The amenities were more than we ever expected - as one of our party remarked, when a house you're renting even has baking equipment you know it's special. Breda kindly supplied turf and firelighters, which we took full advantage of, and even left a bottle of wine to greet us in the kitchen. It was clean, bright, had heating in every room and more importantly felt like a home during our long weekend there. If I go back to Dingle (and I'm sure I will) there's no other place I'd rather stay.

“What a find!”

This house cannot be topped. It has everything one needs during ones' holiday. It is beautifully furnished: very comfortable; excellent views and has a central and great location with easy access to Dingle and surrounding areas. If there is a better place in Dingle, I hope someone will let us know. But until I hear differently, this is the place we want to utilize during holiday. As a side comment, we "discovered" a local service that would be excellent for first time visitors to Dingle and for those that have been before. A friend mentioned a taxi service, Ballinasare Cabs, that takes folks on tours around the area. The owner, Paudie O' Shea, is a colorful individual and a son of Dingle. Need we say more! He has the knowledge of the area and is very informative. He also, since he is a local, knows bits of information that are not mentioned on a planned tour. Wonderful experience!

“Aperfect place to stay in Dingle.”

We have been to Ireland several times. In the past we had stayed in B&Bs.; This year we decided to try a self-catering place. The Burnham View Townhose was perfect. It had everthing we needed. It was clean and comfortable. We will stay there again and recommed it.

“Perfect Place to Stay”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2010

This is a clean, comfortable, beautifully kept home. We thoroughly enjoyed all the conveniences offered by the homeowner. She thought of everything we might need, even laundry soap and was kind enough to leave a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. We loved the gas fireplace, the gorgeous view from the 3rd floor windows and the instant hot electric shower, but the hospitality offered really made it a top notch stay! The house is walking distance to everything in Dingle. For a great music in a small pub visit John Benny Moriarty's! We absolutely loved our evening there! And though we didn't take her up on it, Breda's teenagers would have been willing to babysit our kids. Stay here - you won't regret it!

“The perfect Dingle experience!”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2010

Everything about Burnham View Townhouse in Dingle was perfect for us. The owner, Breda, was helpful, thoughtful and very welcoming. We felt like we were calling on an old friend. The house was wonderful. Although very basic, it was clean, quite spacious and well thought out. Seven (7) of us slept, ate and relaxed there comfortably. We had just the right mix of private and shared spaces. With 3 full bathrooms, everyones need were met. The showers had great pressure, the linens were fine and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, which we used and washed in the dishwasher daily. The washer/dryer were a bonus, although drying is slow (but normal by European standards), and there is an outside line to hang on, if you can dodge the rain. The location is excellent. You are at the top of the little village, within walking distance to evertthing. Pubs and restaurants are 3 minutes away, the market and shopping 5-8 minutes, and the harbor (which is the farthest point of the town from you) is 10min. walking. We even rented movies from the local theatre/video store, again, only 10 minutes away. We were so comfortable in the town that our 4 kids wandered the town alone and together throughout the day. Dingle is the perfect launching point to visit The Dingle Peninsula, Conner Pass, Trallee... Also, the house comes with a parking space, which we used when there was not a space on the street. If we travel back to Dingle, we would hope to stay in the same fabulous house!

“Perfect location for our week in Dingle!”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2010

My husband, mother and my brother's family (7 of us total) recently spent a week in Dingle at the Burnham View Townhouse. It exceeded our expectations! The townhouse itself feels very new and it's nicely furnished, with a lovely little private patio and yard out back. If you crane your head just right you can see Dingle Bay from the yard. The townhouse is on three floors with the living, dining and kitchen on the ground floor. On the second floor is three rooms (one with it's own bath) and a separate full bath. The third floor is another bedroom with it's own bath. We were a little stumped by all the outlets having switches and the front door latch, but Breda was wonderful about taking my calls and questions. She very graciously greeted us on arrival with a bottle of wine and some bread and butter to tide us over since we got in so late the stores were closed. The location is perfect (though beware... everything in Ireland is uphill!). It's very convenient, yet on the residential end of Upper Main so you're away from the pubs when things get rowdy. Still, it's just a block to the first pub and 10-15 minute walk to anywhere in Dingle. A few recommendations if you are staying a week. Bring, or pick up along the way, a plug adapter. You won't need a converter, but you will need a plug adapter. Pack a few of the reusable cotton or woven bags from your local grocery store, as they charge for bags. They will be very handy lugging your things back to the house and easy to pack. There is a store just two blocks down from the house that is very convenient and has most of what you will need, but there is a bigger store down by the harbor. You might want to shop there if you are stocking up for the week. Ask Breda to explain the water heater timer. It's simple, but could cause a timing issue depending on your schedule. We had a fabulous time in Dingle and in large part due to the lovely accommodations we had. Thank you Breda!

“A fantastic December in Dingle”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2010

I stayed in Burnham View Townhouse with my colleagues for a week in early December. This was my fifth year in Dingle for the recording of Other Voices a TV show, recorded in St. James Church every December, for more info. Previously we had stayed in different hotels in Dingle and while I had enjoyed the experience, it was much nicer having a house to live in for the week. The owners were very nice to deal with in every aspect of the booking and left us a lovely bottle of wine to welcome us. The house very comfortable and spacious and it was great to be able to make breakfast, lunch & diner in our own time and a cuppa when we felt like it. The Kitchen was very well equipped, the bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable, everything you’d expect from a hotel with added privacy. There was a lovely back garden too but a little cold in December to be able to put it to good use. I’d highly recommend this house to a family or friends looking to get away for the weekend. Dingle is one of the most magically places in Ireland.

“Festival week visit”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2010

Our group rented the property for 6 nights and we found it very well appointed, clean and comfortable. We needed a town property, not necessarily along the bay front, and this fitted the bill, being a little way beyond the Main Street, so quieter but still within convenient walking distance. Our party included a 1 year old for whom a cot and high chair were provided on request at no extra charge. The majority of bedrooms faced away from the street so were quiet (and sunny), only one faced on to the street itself. We would stay here again on another visit.

“Staying here was the quintessential Ireland experience, unforget”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2010

We stayed at Burnham View townhouse last February it was a perfect holiday rental in a perfect part of the town. It was within walking distance to all the Pubs & Restaurants, and the house was lovely and meticulously kept. The view from the master bedroom is fantastic and just what we had envisioned. Most importanty, we will never forget Breda O'Shea and her family for their warm and genuine hospitality. Thank you!
