“Clean, spacious, safe for kids, stunning view of Ventry harbor, lots nearby but peaceful”

This was one of the best rentals I've ever stayed in and I would recommend it without hesitation for a summer or off-season visit. We were 3 couples with a 3 year old and 7 month old infant. The landlady Breda was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for ourselves and especially, for the kids (highchair, crib, pack n play, even kids blankets and changing pads). There are 5 really comfortable bedrooms, 3 of them with stunning views of Ventry Harbor. Each room has lots of drawers, space for hanging clothes etc. One of the rooms is ensuite. 2 other bathrooms off the main hallway (one with a tub). Large sitting room with a comfortable chair for everyone and a coal/wood fireplace. Nice artwork on the walls. Parents might note that there weren't really any fragile furnishings that a toddler could wreck. Bedding, towels provided. No need to bring anything for the kitchen as all essentials were there. WIFI was great to have. There's cable TV but we didn't really watch it. The grounds of the house are very well maintained. The back area is concrete and we had plenty of room for 3 cars. Large front lawn was terrific safe play place for our toddler to burn off energy (gates can be closed). There's a basketball hoop (with basketball!) and a charcoal grill. Nice garage/shed for storing strollers, bikes and any wet gear. Outside table and chairs (overlooking the bay) where we sat on sunny evenings. Breda's house is 5 minutes walk down to the village where there was a small but very well-stocked shop/post office, family-run pub (with outside seating looking on to the bay), and fantastic little restaurant (the Skipper) serving fresh local seafood (some non-seafood options). Ventry strand is one of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland, perfect for walks. There's also a great old pier that people were fishing from. Breda's house is on a quiet road (safe for walking with strollers) where sometimes the only sound was the buzzing bees in the hedges. We hired bikes for a week (bike shop in Dingle). Lovely scenic rides, but very hilly! Lots to do nearby. Dingle is just 4 or so miles away and it was nice to go there for a bit of hustle and bustle (great restaurants) but mostly we were happy to be a little bit away from all the tourists. Staying in Ventry makes you pity all the hordes blazing through on tour buses. We stayed for 2 magical weeks and were so sad to leave...you will be too.

Great house for a large group! We had a wonderful time and there was enough space for all of us. The kitchen is large and so is the living room. Ventry is wonderful and quiet, away from all the craziness with lots of hiking in the area. Plus a little store and a pub a block away what more do you need?

I spent a weekend in Beachmount House, and I found it a most pleasant experience. The house was in excellent condition, and fit 7 people very comfortably. The house is situated in a beautiful location overlooking Ventry bay, and is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The landlady was extremely friendly, and looked after our every need. I would highly recommend the house, and I will definitely stay there again in the future.

Beachmount is a spacious, (sleeps up to 10) comfortable, well-equipped (washer, dryer, dishwasher) vacation home on a hillside overlooking quaint Ventry village, Ventry Beach, Ventry bay and long views across Dingle Bay to the Beara Peninsula and Skellig Michael hovering on the horizon. Just minutes by car from Dingle Town where there are ample restaurants, pubs and shops,this is a vacation retreat on in a prime location with some of the best panoramic coastal views in Ireland.

We (10 people) thoroughly enjoyed our Easter holidays at Beachmount house in Ventry Village. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome and a bottle of wine by the house proprietor Brid O'Shea. She kindly let us know were everything was in the house and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Everybody commented on how nice and clean the house was and its beautiful views of Ventry Harbour, beach and Dingle Bay. The house was cosy and comfortable with all the amenities we needed and a very well equipped kitchen which we all appreciated as we all took our turn cooking each night. The kitchen also had a table which sat 10 people which was ideal for our group to dine. After our evenings out in Dingle town we also enjoyed sitting around the fire in the living room. In terms of bedrooms, there were 3 double rooms (1 with ensuite), 2 twin rooms and 2 bathrooms which suited us all perfectly. The house is in a nice quiet coastal country setting with beautiful views of Ventry Harbour and Dingle Bay. It is conveniently situated 300-400m (2-3 min walk) from the Harbour and beach. Ventry beach is ideal for those who like to go for a long walk (ca. 2 miles long), which we walked ourselves. There are also many areas of scenic beauty, which we drove to and photographed, a short drive from Ventry. These include spectacular views of Slea Head, Blasket islands (most westerly islands off Europe), Dun Chaoin, Beehive huts, Coumeenoole etc. There are also stunning views from Conor Pass (Brandon Mts), which overlooks Brandon Bay, Dingle town, Harbour and Bay. We took in most of these sites going to and from many of the surfing locations around Dingle Peninsula e.g. Coumeenoole, Gowlane, and the dumps at Castlegregory. The house is also situated 4 miles from Dingle town which we visited each evening. Dingle is a great spot for atmosphere with many traditional pubs and a variety of restaurants to choose from. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back again soon!

“A Diamond in Ventry!”

Our stay at Beachmount House was fantastic! The view with an unspoiled view of Ventry Harbour and Dingle Bay was breathtaking! It was within walking distance to the beach, restaurant, Ventry Inn, the Post Office and shopping. We loved the many different walks, ie. Dingle way walk and the Pilgrim walk. There was a complimentary bottle of wine on the sitting room table upon our arrival with the compliments of Breda O'Shea proprietor. It was only the beginning of your famous Irish hospitality, that truly embodies all of Ireland. We felt at home sitting snug and warm in the sitting room by the open fire, after a busy day of absorbing wonderful Ireland. We have told everyone about this diamond we found in Ventry. Forget the big tourist areas, the place to stay is Beachmount House, nestled in the beginning of one of the truly beautiful sights that Ireland offers. Don't use up your valuable time going to the crowded Ring of Kerry. Ventry has a better view of Blasket Islands, and the people are warm and a delight to meet. Go to Ventry and experience memories that will last a lifetime. We would highly recommend this self catering home, and we would stay there again and again!. Marion and Doug O'Hara - Florida, USA.

“Great house; great Host, GREAT TIME”

Beachmount House is THE PERFECT place to rent if you are renting a
house. It is situated in Ventry, County Kerry, The Republic of Ireland.
This puts it between Dingle Town and Dunquin which means easy access to
all the places I enjoy so for me and my wife, it is ideal. Because of
its location, it is very convenient. The house is tastefully decorated
and has all the amenities you need for a wonderful holiday. The view is
worth the trip. It is tempting just to sit and look out the windows and
never leave the house. It must be something in the O'Shea's blood for
be it a B&B or a Self-Catering House, they are the best host in all of
the Republic. They go out of their way to insure you a relaxing and
joyous holiday. The bottle of wine that is found upon your arrival is
also a plus! Great house, great host, great time. We're already planning
our next trip back. Go and see for yourself. You will not be
disappointed.
