“Beautiful home in a great location”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

Just returned from spending a week at Simcoe Pines with our closest friends. We had the best time and we loved the house! We prepared some excellent meals, drank local wines and sat around and got caught up. Simcoe Pines is beautifully decorated...every bedroom is well put together and the beds are very comfortable. We loved being able to walk to Queen St everyday and enjoyed the bakery called Willow Cakes at the end of the street. We found the location to be perfect. The owners, Angelo and Kerri were great to work with and made great recommendations for wine tours and dining. We will be back next Fall and we are also discussing a summer stay so we can enjoy the pool! It looks great!

“Elegant, cozy and relaxing stay”

Reviewed 1 Mar 2014

What a wonderful place to say! This was our second year in a row at Simcoe Pines . We are a group of friends who go away every year for the Ontario Family Day long weekend. Simcoe Pines is in Niagara on the Lake , one of the prettiest towns in Canada. It has everything. All we want when we go is a place to relax, cook, drink wine, go for walks and enjoy the local spas. The home is in beautiful condition and is beautifully decorated. You feel at home immediately when you step through the door. Angelo, the owner is wonderful. He encourages us to call if there are any challenges, questions etc. We like to BBQ even in the dead of winter and he made sure the BBQ was available to us. We will be back!

“Shared memories of a special celebration, treasured by family me”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2012

Simcoe Pines lived up to being everything it had been depicted to be and more! What had originally caught our attention when searching for a rental home around Niagara was the caption "the perfect place for celebrating special occasions and creating memories.” Nothing could be more true. From the moment we entered this spacious family home, we were struck by the elegant architectural juxtaposition of old and new, and the enchanting way that genuine antiques and personal artifacts blended in perfect harmony with ultra-modern amenities. What probably has left the most lasting impression was the amazing combination of contrasts provided by the generous layout of this home, all serving to promote a wealth of opportunities for intimate social interaction alongside private alcoves for luxurious moments of quiet reflection. Nothing can be more soothing for the soul than, for example, sitting on the covered verandah off the master bedroom of an evening listening to the crickets and other night sounds, or floating lazily in the heated outdoor pool gazing at the stars. All prior to retiring to the most comfortable beds imaginable! The creative garden landscaping provided both welcoming sunny corners or shade at any time of the day. Our enjoyment of the quiet, wooded garden was enhanced by a romantic touch of history as the occasional horse-drawn carriage passed by. Imagine relaxing in a chaise lounge by the pool only to hear the steady clip-clop of approaching horse hooves down the road and then waving cheerily at the amusing sight of the driver's head jutting up above the tall privacy fence at the rear of the yard. Last, but not least, our memorable stay at Simcoe Pines was definitely enhanced by our personal dealings with the homeowners themselves both prior to and during our stay along with the service staff we were fortunate enough to meet on site. Everyone was professionally friendly and accommodating to our needs far beyond the call of duty.

“"Very homely and relaxing".”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2012

We stayed at Simcoe Pines for two weeks over christmas and New Year. Arriving in Canada four days before christmas with four young children could have been a nightmare, but thanks to the owners of Simcoe Pines (who were a pleasure to deal with, very understanding and obliging)things couldn't have been easier. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt we were "home". Simcoe Pines is a fabulous vacation home...it is spacious, relaxing and has everything you could need or want in a home...it is very homely and exceptionally clean. The location to the town is superb...a five minute walk to all the shops, restaurants, theatres etc. It is very accessible to all the roads in and out of the town. There is nothing more we could have asked for and we will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2011

This is our second stay at Simcoe Pines and it was everything we remembered it to be. We stayed here four years ago with our friends from Rochester and from that experience we decided to meet in Niagara on the Lake annaully. Simcoe Pines has always been our first choice and fortunately it was available for us again this year. Thankfully, Angelo has other great properties we were able to stay and enjoy but Simcoe Pines has always felt like home...and home is where the heart is. Thanks angelo for the special memories you have helped create.

“Weekend with Friends”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2011

We had the pleasure of staying at Simcoe Pines with a group of friends for a little weekend getaway. The home is warm & inviting & has a wonderful open concept on the main floor which is great for a large group. The kitchen was very well equipped and a great space for all of us to collectively cook dinner. The house has 3 bathrooms which is convenient again when used by a larger group (no waiting in line:0) The bedrooms are all comfortable & a good size. It is an easy & enjoyable walk to the downtown area. We hope to return in the summer when we can utilize the beautiful pool in the backyard. We would definately stay in this home again!

“A Beautiful October Weekend in Notl”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2011

A family wedding in October was the reason for our visit to Notl, and we stayed at Simcoe Pines - an excellent choice on our part. From the reservation process to the final checkout, everything went smoothly. The house was beautiful, the grounds lovely, and even though we had several families with children, no one felt crowded. The children loved the fort/slide and the hammock outside, and the parents loved the outdoor patio area as well as the overall roominess of the property. We would definitely stay at Simcoe Pines again, and look forward to another visit to Notl.

“A great vacation for this family with 4 young children”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2011

Absolutely wonderful vacation home rental for our summer vacation this year. House: Plenty of room for all of us to make ourselves at home. For the first weekend we had two couples and 6 children staying comfortably, and then it was just ourselves with 4 children and caregiver (in the separate bedroom on the ground floor). Great kitchen, huge dining room and comfortable living room. Garden: Fortunately we had 9 days of wonderful sunny weather so we made extensive use of the backyard. The kids spent 4-5 hours a day in the heated pool - it was warm enough that they never wanted to get out! We had dinner outside almost every day and made good use of the excellent BBQ Location: a 10-15 minute walk to the main street of Notl made for a nice after dinner walk. 15 minute walk to Stratus and Jackson Triggs, which made for a nice diversion to pick up wine for dinner. Lots of opportunities for half day excursions to Fort George and Niagara Falls and then a relaxing afternoon by the pool. Service: Angelo was very helpful to deal with, and the house was exactly as promised. The caretaker also was very helpful and cared diligently for the pool. House was very clean on arrival. Would actively recommend Simcoe Pines, and we would certainly return!

“Relaxing Getaway at Simcoe Pines”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2011

Simcoe Pines was one of the best getaways we have had in years. The house is open and welcoming and impecably cleaned / maintained with all modern conveniences including WiFi internet and satellite tv. There is no need to bring linens (pool towels included as well!), basics for the kitchen (salt, pepper, coffee, paper towels) or even soap - everthing is supplied. My husband and I took our mothers with us and we all had private bedrooms and bathrooms and a sense of our own space. The beds were extremely comfortable and everyone slept well. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space and pool which was heated to almost 90 degrees. Very private back garden with hammock, kids play/tree house, bar, dining table, bbq, lounge chairs and of course the pool. We did not leave the property for days straight! Great location with restaurants and even a Tim Horton's within a few blocks walk. Also a bike rental shop around the corner that we wish we had discovered sooner. A bit of a longer walk (but comfortable) to the historic downtown area where we spent an afternoon browsing shops, galleries and lunching. Short drive to many wineries and markets. We only stayed for 4 nights as that was all that was available, but are happily looking forward to booking Simcoe Pines again. Perfect for extended families.

“Beautiful old home with lots of character”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2011

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Simcoe Pines in mid-July 2011 (during a heat wave). The inground pool in the back yard was much appreciated and well maintained. The aC kept the ground floor reasonable, but struggled to cool the upstairs on 32C+ days. The house is situated on a quiet street, and easy to get to. It provided a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The variety of furniture and old photos added to the character. It was well stocked with towels and linens, and immaculately cleaned. Plenty of crockery, glasses and cooking utensils for 6 of us. Though the antique style stove-top kettle was a little slow for the tea drinkers! Don't think we even turned the TVs on all week, but the internet connection work great and very clear instructions and directions were provided.
