“The owner has thought of everything to make your stay comfortabl”
Mark is such a gracious, attentive owner. He has thought of everything in making his suites fully equipped with high end appliances, comfy furnishings, luxurious towels and bed linens, as well as a fully stocked kitchen. We were amazed when we were greeted by a bowl of fresh fruit, a loaf of grainy bread, coffee/tea and an array of chocolates, granola bars, and breakfast cereal. In the fridge there was cream, milk, butter, jam, juice and bottled water, complimentary. This allowed us to put our feet up and not have to worry about grocery shopping until the next day. The house has been beautifully restored. It is a charming character home with all the modern conveniences. Mark has decorated the suite with tasteful art and furniture treasures, that make it feel like a home away from home. The outdoor garden area is gorgeous. The area of Kitsilano is perfect. Close to great shops, bus routes, walking trails along the beach. Great treasure in the midst of a bustling city.

“All the Comforts of Home!”
We spent 5 nights in Suite 101 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming heritage home. The suite has a spacious living area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and is tastefully decorated throughout. The bedroom is bright and airy with a very comfortable bed and ample storage and closet space. The location is amazing with easy access to the many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Public transportation is also close by. We have visited Vancouver many times and have always stayed in hotels - this was so much more preferable and we felt right at home. It was a lovely place to entertain our Vancouver family. We look forward to staying at Kitsilano Suites again when we return!
Response from the owner Dear Anne, Thank you very much for giving us such a nice reveiw. We really appreciate you doing this for us. We very much look forward to having you stay with us again in the future. Thank you again and I wish you a wonderful weekend! Sincerely, Mark Kitsilano Suites
“We couldn't ask for a more perfect experience!”
The suite and house were immaculate and just lovely, and very thoughtfully and thoroughly outfitted. The house itself is located in a nice residential area far enough from 4th street that it was quiet, cozy and private. Our host Mark, was extremely professional on the one hand, but very helpful, generous, and accommodating on the other, assisting us in navigating logistical challenges we encountered while trying to travel with our young children. Also, for a newcomer to the Kitsilano area it wasn't entirely clear just how much was within easy walking distance in terms of groceries, restaurants, and recreation, but there was both a Safeway and Whole foods very close by, as well as bakeries, an incredible "butcher", fresh fish and seafood market, etc., and you could walk to the beach and park daily.
Response from the owner Thank you very much for your very nice review Kim. Very much appreciated! I wish you and your family a great summer and thank you again for choosing to stay with us. Sincerely, Mark
“Loved this place!!”
This facility was absolutely the greatest place I have stayed in a long time. The staff was beyond helpful!! I loved everything about it. I loved the location! I loved the gift basket in my room! I loved the bed! I loved the linens! I loved absolutely everything! Is there something higher up the rate chart than "excellent"? There should be...and this wonderful place should have it's picture next to it!!!
Response from the owner Thank you so much for posting such a wonderful review Diane. We can't thank you enough for all your kind comments. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this for us! Thank you for being so kind and such a nice guests. I wish you a wonderful weekend and great summer. Sincerely, Mark
“Kitsilano Suites--a great place to stay.”
I'm a little late in writing this review-we stayed at Kitsilano Suites in early October and it's now late December-but here it is. First, a brief summary-we loved staying at Kitsilano Suites. The ambiance, both inside and outside, is terrific. Our apartment--immaculately clean--included all the amenities-the web site for the Suites lists them-and the owner, Mark Diesvelt, proved a gracious and very organized host. He met us on our arrival and had a multi-page list of nearby places to eat and shop and much more helpful information that I can't recall right now-the disadvantage of waiting two and one-half months before writing a review. More, we had Mark's number in case we needed anything, but we never found need to use it. Outside, the Suites are located on a beautiful and quiet tree-lined street, and the aforementioned places to eat and shop are nearby-very convenient. Moreover, if you choose to use public transportation, you'll find the bus stops nearby and easy to navigate. So, our recommendation if you want a great place to stay in Vancouver-by the way, a beautiful city-stay in Kitsilano Suites.
“stylish home from home”
I have stayed twice now-the apartment is warm comfortable stylish-attended by Mark who is unobtrusive but helpful-in the middle of wonderful bohemian Kitsilaon and great shops and restuarants- a walk from the sea- great internet access what more can I say -this is my home from home
“Perfect home away from home”
I stayed for a week of research and visiting family. From the outset the place was nearly perfect. I arrived late in the day, Mark met me at the door and showed me around the lovely little flat. There was a welcome basket that made racing to the supermarket for breakfast supplies unnecessary (for that matter, it made looking for many supplies unnecessary). The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cooking implements and a big spice rack. The living room had a fire place and a complementary fire log, which I made it a point of burning because it was February, and how could I not?! In suite laundry topped it off. I didn't want to leave. Service was excellent. I had some problems hooking up to the internet and Mark was on it immediately. I genuinely wanted to make everything comfortable and work perfectly for me, and I could tell that he was sincerely concerned when anything was amiss (the internet was the only issue, and it resolved itself pretty quickly). As for location: this is also nearly perfect. It's right between 4th ave and Broadway, so close to lots of transit options for a quick race downtown, or to UBC (I needed to go in both directions). It's close to the various good supermarkets and great restaurants. It's a bit of a walk but through lovely neighbourhoods to Kitsilano beach. I've been to Vancouver many times and this was by far the best stay I had, and I chalk it up to the wonderful accommodations. I will be returning, as often as I can.
We love to stay in the Kit's Suites-the location is prime. We park our car-and- We walk to the ocean-to the shops- to the restaurants-to the parks- to the Grandchild-to everything Kitsilano has to offer The building is secure and spotless and cozy
“It Felt Like Our New Vancouver Home”
We had the pleasure of staying in both 101 1nd 201 during our stay and found it to be the perfect accommodations for our vacation while doing some business. The suites are so very attractively decorated with amenities that made them every bit as complete and comfortable as our own home. With the availability of onsite wifi and hi speed internet we were able to conduct business on the east coast in the morning and tour around during the afternoon and evening. We got into the rhythm of shopping on nearby 4th avenue for our daily meals which we prepared in the gourmet, fully equipped kitchen. Mark proved to be an excellent and accommodating host. We never thought that we could secure such a perfect spot for a romantic getaway in the most beautiful and vibrant city in the world.
“Pity that we can only give 5 stars”
Kitsilano suites is a great place to stay. The house and surroundings are beautiful and quiet, The heart of Kitsilano is just two blocks away. The appartment was comfortable and clean. We (family with two kids, 8 and 5) enjoyed all of our 9 days there. The friendlyness is highly appreciated. If there were more than five stars to give, we would give them.
