“Good location, comfortable apartment, great fun...”
We very much enjoyed our stay in Batala apartment. The apartment exceeded our expectations; we found it very spacious, clean and comfortable for our family of 4. The location of the accommodation was ideal for us. A very pleasant beach is close by, shops, market and a couple of bars and restaurants along the waterfront all proved to be of a good standard. It was also on a bus route so we could easily catch buses to nearby towns such as Cavtat, Mlini, which were all beautiful places to visit. The owners were very kind and helpful, making us feel welcome and ensuring that our holiday went well. We shall remember the wonderful view from the balcony, and the kindness of the local people for a long time to come. We have stayed in many apartments in the last few years but our whole family agrees this was definitely one of the best and we would recommend Batala apartment to anybody.
We had a very comfortable 4 night stay in the apartment overlooking the marina. Easy bus ride (very frequent) into town (wonderful) and from the marina we caught a ferry to a island where we spent a relaxing day. The apartment was clean, comfortable and surprising spacious, with 3 bedrooms and a nice, sunny kitchen. There were quite a lot of stairs up to the apartment but this kept us all fit! The apartment was very good value and in fact I shall be staying there again this year.
“Good value and convenience”
The apartment's location was so convenient - the marina for trips to the islands was close by, and the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik was just a short bus trip. We used the apartment as a base for sleeping and breakfast, choosing to eat out lunch and dinner. However, for anyone wishing to cook, the kitchen was adequately equipped. Our group consisted on three females in their late 50s/early 60s - the absence of a lift could be a problem for some people, but we are all fit, so it wasn't an inconvenience.
We arrived in Dubrovnik by ferry and this apartment was very easy to get to. The location is great and there are local buses to the old town and the beach that stop in close proximity. There is a new air-con in the kitchen-diner, which kept us cool at night and lots of restauants and cafes near by. The only downside is that there are 64 stairs up to the apartment - helped to keep us fit, but not great in the heat of the day!
“Excellent apartment and location”
Stayed here in July and found it great. The main good things are: clean, near a supermarket/market, air-conditioned. It is also very nicely kitted out as regards cooking facilities. The beds are also exceptionally comfortable. I had a bit of bother getting the tv to work but managed it in the end. I did you a favour and region hacked the dvd player so you can bring your dvd's from whereever you want. Okay I probably shouldn't say this but you can pick up a free wireless connection from the bunkbed bedroom if you've a laptop with you (called "borg"). One drawback might be the number of steps which sometimes after a long day plodding around can be daunting but are not too bad. It's too far from downtown to walk but the bus takes you there in about 5 mins. We actually stayed in a more expensive apartment for some of the trip and missed the location near the shops and the cooking facilities of this place. If you are a runner, there is a trail along the coast (run to the left of the port and keep the sea on your right.. you'll find it. It's about 5.5 or 6 miles around there to lapad beach and back along this route and it's mostly off road and has some good shade. There's a book under the coffee table where various folk have noted tips and it's worth taking a gander through it. If you are going to visit an island use the state Jadrolina ferry which leaves from the other side of the port in the morning. It's really reasonable relative to the private companies. We went to Lopud which if you've young kids they will love because it's got a sandy beach with very shallow and warm water. Dubrovnik is a beautiful place - enjoy it!
“Great house, great location, great holiday”
This house was brilliant and had everything we needed. The "balcony" window overlooking the marina was a great place for breakfast. Plus only a short walk to the old town, lapad beach, port and bus station.
“Great little apartment in Dubrovnik”
Great little apartment although not close to the old town it is close to the ferries for the islands. Good supermarket walking distance away and a great view from the 4th floor apartment - 68 steps be aware(!) and no lift. But the apartment was spotlessly clean, nicely appointed but with no internet if you need that. Parking everywhere in Dubrovnik is a nightmare and payment 24 hours a day but there is a place you can park off road here which is a bonus. Friendly and efficient check in. Apartment has everything you need for a stay and we were delighted with it. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we were revisiting Dubrovnik.
“Very Nice apartment”
We had a really nice time in Dubrovnik and our apartment was terrific. It's in a quality location that's easy to find with easy bus access. Also, the location of the grocery store is nice as well.
We stayed in the Apartment for two weeks in September/October 2008 and had a lovely time. I booked the Apartment via the internet and had a lot of information and helpful advice from Anthony the owner, prior to booking. The service we received was excellent, we were picked up at the Airport (extra charge) and taken to our Accommodation and Anthony's Agent Azra ( who was brilliant) came to see us to make sure we had everything we needed,we were also able to contact her by telephone if we needed any help or advice. The Apartment which was on the third floor (no lift, but the view made the climb worth while) was really lovely, very light and airy and most comfortable, with spectacular views. The location of the Apartment was ideal, very central to the bus station and a large supermarket was about ten minutes walk away. There are also small local shops a lot closer, also a very good bakery. If you like walking it is the place to go, there are lots of beautiful walks and the scenery is amazing. The old city is lovely, take a walk around the city walls, you will not be disappointed. We did lots of boat trips while we were there, and a coach trip to Bosnia, which was a wonderful experience and will live in our minds for many years. We really enjoyed our stay at the Apartment and will go back there again and would recommend it to anyone.
“Excellent appartment- great location”
I would highly recommend this appartment to anyone who is intending to visit Dubrovnik. The facilities at the accommodation were great, nice kitchen/dining, comfortable lounge after a hard day in the sun and really conmfortable beds with plenty of storage. We walked down to the beach daily from the appartement but there were also regular buses right outside if this would be difficult. Close to Dubrovnik centre too. We walked a couple of times but the area is very hilly so took the bus to save our legs! Close to the picturesque harbour where there were a few lovely restaurants- easy walking distance. The views from the balcony were amazing- especially at night when the harbour was lit up. All in all this was a great base to spend our time in Dubrovnik- highly recommended. Katie & Family
