“A wonderful stay!”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2011

I stayed with my family in the apartment in July 2010. We had a wonderful time. The area is really beautiful - both the coast and the Cilento park. Our apartment was good, it included everything we needed for our stay - and the terrace with a breathtaking view over the Mediterranean was simply the best! Unforgettable sun-sets... The pool and the area around it was really nice - our sons could have spent their whole vacation there. They also made some new friends with other guests. De Santis family was really nice and helpful, we got good tips and advice from them about the boats, restaurants etc - making our stay very pleasant. There is so much to see in the area that we could only see a little glimps of it in a week. We visited for example Pompeiji, Capri and the Cilento park and they were all amazing and definitely worth visiting. Driving around was easy, but sometimes time consuming, so there's only so much you can see during one day. Luckily, you can just walk from the apartment to Santa Maria di Castellabate, so you don't always need a car. We enjoyed our holiday very much, so I would definitely recommend this location for families and couples.

“If you like what you see, just go for it...”

If you like what you see on the pictures, just go for it, for it iseven better in real life. The view is magnificent here you can enjoy a good glass of wine, eat olives and good Parma ham and enjoy the panorama view. If the temperature is not to high you can even see Capri. The flats are not luxurious, but functional (good beds). The pool was very nice to take a swim in after sightseeing or after a day at the beach. Our kids loved it and some days we just stayed at the villa. The atmosphere here is very friendly and you really get the opportunity to relax and enjoy life. The flats even have a garden where you can play ping-pong, or lie in a hammock. It is almost like you live in a private place! There is also washing machine on the area, so you can freshen up your beach towels and other things that's needs a wash. The place is about 5-10 min away from the main street in Santa Maria di Castellabate. Santa Maria di Castellabate is a small village, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Also you have many restaurants in the area around. Ask the host for recommendation. The nearest bakery is also 5-10 min walk away, and there are at least 3 supermarkets I know of, where you can do your shopping. San Marco is the "next door" village, 10 min drive from Santa Maria, and from the harbor in San Marco, you can take the ferry over to Capri. Santa Maria di Castellabate is about 2 hours drive from Napoli. We had excurtions to Pompeii, and a roundtrip to the Amalfi-coast. The prices are higher on the Amalfi-coast and Capri was very expensive, but you can't miss the opportunity to go there. Castellabate is a village situated on the hills, behind Santa Maria di Castellabate, and here you must go to see the sunset. I recommend to rent a car so you are free to move around in the area (For instance you are in the middle of mozzarella producing district). Plenty of places to visit, and 14 days are simply not enough. I highly recommend it. Monica and her family, Norway
