“Wonderful Experience”

Reviewed 8 May 2014

We stayed here with our two teenage daughters and could not have had a better time. The house was beautiful, much more than we could have expected. Very spacious and comfortable but we spent most of our time on the balcony or at the pool, who wants to be inside on vacation. Beautiful gardens and pool area, couldn't be more relaxing. But the best part was the owners of the property that live on property in a separate house. They were wonderful people that gave us helpful advice on where to eat and suggestions on things to do, our own personal concierges. A quick walk to the shops and restaurants always felt safe and comfortable. So glad we didn't stay at a resort this was so much better. Can't wait to go back.

“Private, Safe, Relaxing, Comfortable and Beautiful”

What a great place! its your home away from home! If you are like me and like beauty safety but with independence away from the gringo prisons that are all-inclusives, this is the place for you. Spacious beautiful, secure. The hosts are there when you need them, and not anymore than that. So if you need info on where when and hows, they can answer it and more. The house is set up for many people if you want. Our group was three couples, we had the whole upstairs every couple had their own bathroom. Which was great. Pool was sweet. it was a great holiday! We will be back!

Casa Guayaba is wonderful, the owners are incredibly pleasant and helpful and the home is so big and spacious we didn't want to leave. The property is lush and full with banana and coconut trees which give the perfect amount of shade while staying cool around the beautiful private pool. The huge kitchen and deck were perfect for preparing and eating meals at home instead of going out. The home is only minutes on a bike from the centre of downtown tulum and only a 10-15 minute walk to all the wonderful resturaunts and shops. For 50 pesos you can cab to the beautiful beaches or to the many cenotes around the area are a excellent choice on a hot day. The owners live on the property as well, but you wouldn't know it because the really give you your space and privacy, but they are close and accessible for questions or advice. They were great in pointing us to the best places to visit or eat at and were super helpful in helping us explore the area. We felt totally safe and secure in and round the property at all times, even for the girls in our group to venture out solo and hit up the super close fruit markets or street foods. All in all we had an excellent experience at Casa Guayaba and were very lucky to meet such nice people on our trip whom we hope to visit again in years to come :)

“Our home away from home in Tulum , Casa Guayaba an Oasis full of”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2014

Our group of 3 couples wanted a place to rent in Tulum. Sebastin met us in town and drove us to check out the house. It was much nicer than we expected to stay in but also more money than we planned. With no pressure Sebastin said he could bring our girls to have a look for themselves the next day. After our fiancés all had a look there was no turning it down. Its a beautiful oasis right off the fun bustling main street. Once you come threw the secure walled compound you are delighted by gorgeous tropical trees plants and flowers. Sebastin and Tatiana live in the corner but you wouldn't know it as its thick palms trees etc and the rental portion is very private. Having them there was an asset for security convenience and their local knowledge made our trip more enjoyable. They really go out of their way to help / guide and make your stay enjoyable. They called taxis, set our friends up with accommodations inland for a overnight trip and know all the good beach spots and places to eat. I can't say enough about the service they provide , and its not because its a business but rather because they truly care. We met them as strangers but left as friends. The Casa is a perfect way to enjoy the area. Being in town we rented bikes and got to take advantage of all the great places to eat on the main streets and enjoy the markets and night carnivals. You can take a taxi to the beach or as we mainly did just ride our bikes and enjoy the sites and get exercise. After a hot salty sandy day on the public beaches it was such a treat to return to our outdoor shower and cool off in our private pool oasis. At night the ambience of the lighting pool and fountains are amazing. If you need a break from the sun/heat the shade under the palm trees around the pool is perfect. The grand cenotes we also rode to from our house for amazing fresh water snorkeling. The value of Casa Guayaba can't be matched! We where blown away how nice it was to have casa guayaba to spend our time in mexico!

“Very clean a oasis to comeback, after a day of adventures, clean”

Is a very spacious, beautiful place to be. The garden, the swimming pool, the fountains. Etc. etc. create magic clean space, the showers, toiles very functional, Guayana home, feels "like home" Beauty, simplicity, comfort, cleanness. The owners Sebastian and Tatiana are very pleasant and Cain to give there time and knowledge of the area, to direct me to the most beautiful, interesting places to visit. Looking forward to my next visit.

“Gorgeous Oasis”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2014

Casa Guayaba is a huge house and every detail has received so much attention. From the moment I walked in I could tell this place has received a lot of love and care from its owners. The house and property are clean and beautiful, like a little oasis in downtown Tulum. Tatiana the owner is really generous and gracious. Sebastian the site manager made sure that our needs were taken care of and provided a lot of helpful tips which contributed to the enjoyment of my vacation. The whole property is walled in with trees and plants growing, so it is private and surprisingly quite for being in the city. I would go back here for vacation or spiritual retreat, and because it has so much space I envision returning with many friends.

“a true private oasis”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2014

I stayed at Casa Guayaba during a recent trip to Tulum along with other crew members (we went there to shoot a music video and vacation for a couple of days) and had an amazing experience. First of all, the hosts, Sebastian and Tatiana are so welcoming and helpful, even prior to our arrival they gave us all sorts of helpful facts and advice regarding our visit. Once at the house they were even more helpful, recommending restaurants and other spots for us to visit (all of them amazing and of great variety), at one point Sebastian even went out to the pharmacy to get some drops for a member of the crew when he got surfer's ear. Then, the house...absolutely beautiful. Casa Guayaba is basically a villa where you get the luxury that you'd get at a hotel but at a rate that's almost unbelievable, an absolute bargain. On top of that you get a place with the charm and homely feeling that comes across in the care and attention to detail that Sebastian and Tatiana have taken with everything from the plants around the house, the bedding and overall decoration of the house--and of course with added privacy and space, I really should highlight space, from the photos I could tell the house was spacious but once there I was really amazed at how much space we were getting (space that at a hotel would have cost a fortune) The location allowed us to have peace and quiet when we desired but also be only a few minutes away from the beach & nightlife of Tulum. After almost a week at the house I was sad to leave! Tatiana and Sebastian are so friendly that I felt like I was saying good-bye to friends and not checking out of a place. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Tulum. To film crews traveling to Tulum I would recommend Casa Guayaba even more so, Sebastian has worked in film and is full of information regarding locations, permits, beach cleaning crews and anything that a film crew might need while in Tulum. Casa Guayaba, a real hidden oasis and treasure in Tulum!

“My review of Casa Guayaba - highly recommended”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

I want to remark on a superlative experience in Tulum that was above expectations. We were looking for 4 bedrooms in a house, for 6 people for a week. We did not desire a hotel or the sterile environment of a condo or all-inclusive resort, but the gift of an association with "people on the ground". Casa Guayaba is a family home, in Tulum. Tatiana and Sebastien live on the property in a separate house. The property is walled, in other words, a secure compound, a private oasis, house and garden, in this quaint small city. The area for rent (very reasonable price for value) is a two story house with swimming pool. The house can be divided into smaller units, based on desire or requirements. We had the entire upper floor of the house (which is comprised of two separate units), with balcony, hammock, four bedrooms, kitchen, dining area and sitting area, three bathrooms (two in the larger unit of the house and one in the separate suite). The bedrooms have air-conditioning as did the living area, and ceiling fans. We used a combination of English, Spanish and French to communicate. Tatiana and Sebastien were a wealth of information, assisted us in recommendations for local restaurants, local travel (we did not rent a car), walked with us into town to show us how to use the "collectivo" (local public mini bus), arranged for a day with a van and driver at our request (to go to cenotes, Coba, Valladolid), and unasked, made a light dinner for us on the last night to talk and say good-by. They were not intrusive but simply helpful. We have used Flipkey, Vrbo, etc, and have become accustomed to seek out the experience of local contacts, and this experience rates highly. It is easy to find a place to stay, it is hard to find a place to want to be - thank you Tatiana and Sebastien! This was very family friendly (several small happy dogs and cats). It is a very short walk into Tulum town, which was then an easy jumping off point to get to the local sites and beach.
