“Great week in St.John”
Spent the week in St. John at Treetops celebrating our 30th anniversary. The stay was very pleasant and the accommodations where definitely affordable and adorable and above all clean and comfortable. The breakfasts where great and the knowledge and guidance of the island from by the owner was extremely helpful in planning our days. Most memorable was the day spent on the Pot Luck with Captain Hank, a day filled with sightseeing, snorkeling and capped off with a trip to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Had a wonderful and memorable time at Treetops, and hope to return sometime in the future.
“We loved everything about our stay at the Tree Tops!”
We absolutely loved our stay at the Tree Tops. Karen and Hank have done such a wonderful job making the Tree Tops the perfect getaway. Anything and everything we needed was either already provided or all we had to do was ask. We are very much looking forward to the next time we can getaway and visit St John and of course the Tree Tops. This place will always be special to us, as we got engaged while there! We'll be back soon, save some delicious muffins, coffee and convos for us! Kristina and Ryan
Every communication I had with Karen (the owner of "Tree Tops" B&B could not have been more timely, considerate and informative. I was not surprised while upon being picked up at the boat that this kindness was also shared by Karen's husband Hank (who charters out his fishing boat). The room was great! Caribbean Chic, bright colors and very clean. Nothing like being lulled to sleep by the ubiquitous tree frogs. Continental breakfast was the perfect way to wake up (fresh coffee, muffins, toast, fresh local fruit) All this while being kissed by the warm topical breeze, and...the day hasn't even started! I think you get the point. This place is a tropical paradise steal, and one you will want to book over and over again. Loved it! Thank You So Much Karen and Hank xx Susan Oak Bluffs, Ma
We aren't always big on words; however, we just had to review Treetops in St. John. My wife and I have stayed at many places all over this world and we are going to go ahead and say that Treetops is one of the best experiences that we have ever had. This place is a jewel! Our room was colorful, packed with charm, and it was super clean. The home is set right in the heart of the valley. Views, views, views! Our hosts, Karen and Hank, were extremely accommodating and also quite knowledgeable. They gave us great advice on the best beaches and restaurants, and of course, our jeep rental. We even stayed in one night and grilled on the beautiful stone terrace area. We went out on Hank's lobster boat on our last day and it was absolutely amazing. My wife and I snorkeled the most incredible waters imaginable. We stopped for lunch at Jost Van Dyke (don't forget your passport.) and then went swimming in even more crystal blue waters. Just one day of a week long dream. All for a very reasonable price. Leaving Treetops was truly very hard to do. We haven't stopped thinking about it still. Best vacation yet. Thanks so much, Karen and Hank! Kyle and Ali. Boston, MA
Treetops was just fabulous...from the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and welcomed. The accomodations were perfect and the views magnificent. The highlight of our trip was our snorkeling adventure on the "Pot Luck" to the most amazing spots I ever seen in my life! We cant' wait to go again next year...hopefully longer this time.
“An absolute oasis!”
Imagine waking up to a blue sky and warm balmy temperatures, surrounded by quiet hillsides filled with the green flora and fauna of Fish Bay in your own private, charming, fully-appointed cottage. Small Yellow-bellied birds are perched outside on the Tyre Palms and you can't wait to get up and welcome another perfect day on St. John. Karen and Hank Slodden are the perfect hosts to help you greet the day and help you plan your adventures on St. John as you enjoy your breakfast in their beautiful Sun Room overlooking the hillsides. Hank and Karen were so generous and welcoming that they made my vacation one of the best experiences ever! The private rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean and quiet, yet Fish Bay is a convenient location - just two 1/2 miles from the bustle of charming Cruz Bay and the North Shore Beaches. I rented a Jeep which helped me to maneuver the entire island. (Almost everyone rents a jeep). Since this was my first trip to St. John, Karen and Hank helped me to decide on the best beaches, hikes, restaurants and other activities. I really felt as comfortable as I do in my own home, but without the rainy gray skies of Seattle! This was truly one of the best B&B finds ever. They will probably start filling up quickly as the word gets out, so I recommend having some alternate dates ready when you call for reservations. Can't wait to go back!
My husband and I stayed at Treetops in December 2009. The house is beautiful and the rooms for the guests are private, clean, and decorated with great island art. The views are wonderful and the location is quiet. Hank and Karen took us hiking on the Reef Trail in the National Park and then out on their boat to snorkel near an island in the British Virgins. It was an unforgettable experience and especially interesting to see St. John from the water which was a very different perspective. Hank and Karen are thoughtful and generous hosts and we're looking forward to going back. Tom Breeden and Meredith Bennett
