“Friendly host, clean cabins, and a short, quick walk to the beac”
Ken Smallwood is a helpful and friendly host. We have stayed in 3 of the cabins over the past few years. These are always clean and ready to move into after our long drive from the us. Very family friendly setting with large grassy areas. It's a short walk to the beach for swimming or strolling. There's a wide, safe bike path that you can follow along the shore or take side trips to go hiking through peaceful woods and marshes.
“Very Nice and Peaceful”
Lyon's Cottages was a great place to stay. We were there for a week back in 2011. The location was perfect, maybe a 5 minute walk to the Ocean and so close that we could hear the surf at night from the cottage. Ken was very helpful with anything we needed and always came by to ask how we were doing. Overall a great place to stay!!!
“Perfect Location. Perfect family vacation.”
We have stayed at Lyon's for our summer vacation the last two years. The location is ideal- minutes walk through a wooded pathway to the beach (long, sandy, not busy). The grounds are impeccably kept and there is a small, safe playground where the kids get a chance to feel independent while the parents can read a book on the porch. The cottages themselves are very clean and well kept. Now, as a disclaimer- I am a travel princess- I travel frequently for work-and am used to fairly luxurious surroundings- so it was an adjustment for me to embrace the older styled furnishings in the cottage. (some cottages are more stylish/cute-vintage, others are more 1970's vintage.) The cottages are comfortable, roomy, well equipped and perfectly suitable- the vibe is kind of like visiting your Grandma's cottage as a kid. The host (Ken)is extremely friendly and attentive and is always checking to ensure guests are satisfied. There is a take-out restaurant down the street (Richard's) which has excellent fish, scallops, mussels, and lobster sandwiches. We continue to enjoy this location- you can run into Charlottetown very easily for groceries, dinner or a show, or visit Cavendish and the attractions for the kids. The value for location, friendliness, ease is very high. The grounds are also very pleasant- treed and flower beds. This princess is going back again this year!
Just booked our second stay at Lyon's Cottages for summer 2014! Our family and friends stayed at Lyon's in the summer of 2012 and we're looking forward to going back. You can't beat the private setting, a quiet family oriented, well-maintained property with cozy cottages. The location is so convenient. Right in the National Park, it's only a short walk to the beach, close to Covehead Harbour, not a far drive to Cavendish and Charlottetown. Ken was always around the property, available to fulfill any requests. Can't wait!
“Clean & comfy”
Location is ideal for visit ing Cavendish are and Charlottetown. Quick access to enjoyable bicycle path. Cottage was clean , quiet and comfortable.
“Excellent place to stay”
We discovered Lyon's Cottages a few years ago, what a Gem! The cottages are small but homey, the grounds beautifully taken care of, and the caretakers are just wonderful people to talk to. It is obvious they care about your stay and their cottages! We can not wait to come back, we feel like we are coming home to good friends now :)
Spent the week with family and friends at Lyons Cottages prior to our wedding. It was the perfect setting!!! The kids all had a great time at the park located on the property and in the evening we were able to sit by the fire and enjoy the quiet! The walk to the beach was no more than 5 minutes and it is beautiful. Ken was very professional and catered to our every need! Highly recommend Lyons Cottages.
“fabulous family holiday”
A wonderful spot for families - comfortable cottages, nice grounds for kids to play on, firepit for campfires, and just a five minute walk to a supervised beach. Came for a family reunion, rented four cottages and all 20 of us had a wonderful time. Ken and all the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Lyons Cottages is a terrific location. It's close to the beach and bike trail. My family had plans on the date of check in at Lyons cottages and We spoke with Ken Smallwood prior to our arrival and he was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early and drop off our bikes before heading out for the day. The cottage was rustic and very clean. It had everything we needed. It did not have a microwave but we managed just fine without. We all enjoyed the cottage and would go back again
Wonderful location! Right in the National Park and just a few minutes walk to the beach. You can hear the waves from the cottage. Well-kept, neat, very friendly management. Cottages are basic, but well equipped. Very private and secure. Great for our family reunion! Each family had their own cottage, but the children had lots of room to play games and sports.
