“STOP shopping for the perfect vacation rental, you’ve just found it!”
Ok, where do I begin? This is the most private, relaxing and romantically ideal seaside stone cottage we could have ever hoped for. My wife and I just returned from a week of pure bliss at La Casetta di Marmorata, where we celebrated our 19th anniversary. Based on how perfect this charming slice of heaven is, I will need the next year to figure out how to top this for our 20th! If you’re anything like me, it’s always a little scary choosing a vacation rental from a few blurry little pix and a few seemingly positive reviews. So let me be clear, this spot wildly exceeded all of our very high expectations...and then some. The Location: perched just steps above the sea, we spent 90% of our time drinking-in the expansive view(and wine)on the private terrazza. Each time we returned from our day trips, we were so grateful for our little refuge amidst the otherwise hectic and crowded Amalfi Coast. Heavenly, with the scent of jasmine from all the lush gardens. The Accommodations: With an extra bedroom and sitting room(with a TV you’ll never use,) there was much more room than we two needed, but it was great for each of us to have our own full bathroom. The downstairs bedroom is bright and spacious and especially charming with the arched stone window overlooking the sea. We slept with all the windows open, lulled to sleep each night by the sea. The Concierge: Franco was amazing. He met us at the top where we parked - off street, covered and gated. He helped us down with our bags and made us feel so welcome and cared for. On day 2, he returned bearing gifts of exquisite local deliciousness in addition to excursion reservations, ferry schedules, concert brochures and the Best restaurant recommendations - all curated to our personal desires. Wherever we said his name, we were treated like royalty. The few times I called, he answered his cell immediately. Franco is a rockstar! So, if you’re still with me as I write this unintentional novella, let me wrap up by saying: now having spent the last week in Sorrento, Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Ravello, Minori, Maiori, Vietri sul Mare and Capri...La Casetta di Marmorata is the jewel in the crown of Amalfitana!
“Great family vacation”
Our stay was wonderful. Being so close to the water was great and easy walk into Minori. The stairs down to the villa are so beautifully landscaped, it's almost easy to forget your even doing them! Will definitely be back.
“Such A Wonderful Unit & Beautiful Location”
Our stay was only 3 nights and this is what we regretted the most. Everything about this rental is exceptional. The unit is very nicely decorated and stocked with everything we needed. The management was very helpful and even had a bottle of wine on our arrival which was very much appreciated. There are a lot of stairs down to unit but that wasn't a problem for us, the town is only a 10 minute walk but you have to walk on ocean side of a very scary roadway. A taxi can be arranged instead of walking to town which we used one rainy day we only paid 10 euros each way The location is unbelievable!! We would definitely like to be able to go back!!
I hesitated to write a review about this villa because I wanted to be selfish and not let anyone else know how fantastic it was !!! However as Valeria and Franco are such wonderful people I have decided to share the love ! My husband and I stayed for 11 nights with our daughter and son in law joining us on the last 5 nights . The villa is generous in size however we found ourselves on the deck most of the time . The views are amazing and to climb down the steps to the beautiful ocean is incredible . The ocean is calm and makes swimming a dream . The stairs from the villa to the road are a bit more challenging ( we just took it slowly ) , food in minori is fantastic with great pastries and fresh produce... The local ham , cheese , and peaches are incredible . We can't wait to go back and enjoy the best part of Italy .
The main problem with this villa could be the steps (190 down from the road); in fact we soon got used to them, and they warmed us up for the rest of the day's walking! The villa is fairly basic, but well equipped, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. We were there when the wisteria was in flower, and the sights and scents as we ate out there will stay with us for a long time. It was a bit early in the season to swim, but I imagine it would be great to swim from just below the villa once it warms up. It is a short walk into Minori, but the road is busy and has no footpaths. It is well lit, though, and we got used to it!
“Best Villa on amalfi Coast”
We stayed at Casetta di Marmorata for one week in September. The place is really the best you can find on the whole amalfi Coast. From the terrace you have an impressive panorama view over Minori and Maiori, which are both very close by. To Minori you can even walk. But really the best is the private access to the sea. However, you have to bear in mind that you only have sun until 4 pm in September. If you want to lay in the sun longer, you can still go to Maiori Beach, which is the biggest on the whole amalfi Coast. In the appartment you find everything you need and Franco was very helpful in organizing i.e. boat rentals. We can fully recommend this place and would always go there again. Great compliments to Valeria and Franco for organizing such a beautiful stay for us!!! P.S. I would only recommend this place for people in a good physical condition, because you have to walk a lot of stairs in order to reach the appartment. It is not suited at all for disabled people.
“Above the reality”
Villa Casseta Marmorata is a small hidden gem. It's not luxurious villa, but very cosy, comphortable house easily accomodating 2 pair of friends. One of the bedrooms is located just above the sea, but the other bedroom (which my husband and me occupied) was a bit dark and wet:( otherwise everything was good, but I would say - a little overpriced.
“Amazing villa in a beautiful area!”
We stayed at the La Casetta di Marmorata villa in Minori for 4 days in May. We spent 3 weeks in Italy and this place was by far our favorite! Franco was the property manager and he was very welcoming and accommodating during our stay. The villa was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It was amazing to fall asleep every night to the sound of the ocean. The view of the coast was phenomenal and it was one of the prettiest coastlines I have ever seen. We loved the private dock and being able to just jump into the water whenever we wanted. Franco even arranged for a boat to pick us up at the dock and take us on a day trip to Capri! The villa is just a short walk to town and we did it a few times every day. We can't wait to go back to Minori and when we do we will definitely be staying here!
The villa is set in a stunning location with direct access to the sea. As it was august and very hot, we loved having the platform next to the sea, which seemed to be very rare for the amalfi Coast - in general access to the sea during high summer seemed quite limited or very expensive at private beaches. Although this was shared with other villas there was always plenty of room, sunbeds and umbrellas and often we had this to ourselves. We were looked after very well and Franco organised taxis and a boat trip to Capri, which we would highly recommend as we were picked up and dropped back directly at the villa. The location is great with a ten minute walk into the town, which we did to get fresh bread each morning from the bakery. The town also had a very good selection of restaurants, shops and ice cream bars. Plus we hired sea kayaks and pedalos on the beach in the town. The villa itself was very nice and we felt it was even better than the photos. It was a very good size for a family of four. In relation to comfort the only very slight negative was that as a sufferer of a bad back, I found the bed very hard - but no one else found this a problem. The kitchen was very well equipped, but everything tasted good when you had supper on the balcony overlooking the bay. We were lucky enough to celebrate a couple of birthdays while we were away and were very touched that the owners brought down some cakes during the evening of my husband's birthday. We were made to feel welcome and had a fantastic holiday and hope to return in the future. The only word of caution is that it helps to be moderately fit as there are plenty of steps - although it did provide an excuse to have an extra cake or ice cream!
Wonderful location, beautiful sea, excellent service and extremely nice people
