“What a Way to Spend New Year's”
Expanded Pinecone is exactly as described by other guests. From making the reservation to checking out, everything went smoothly. Marianne is wonderful to work with. The cabin has everything you will need for a great vacation. There are so many amenities, it's difficult knowing where to start in listing them. The cabin is spotless and has adequate space for a family of 8-10 to relax and enjoy themselves. The wireless internet is free and fast. There is a full size washer and dryer, towels, washcloths, bath soap, hand soap, shampoo, gas grill, fully equipped kitchen, tv with dvd player, nice front and back porches, hot tub and beautiful views. Attention to detail is noted throughout the nicely appointed cabin. Marianne suggested we eat at Stoney Knob (exit 21) and it was absolutely the best!! We definitely plan to spend more time at Ox Glen Vacation Rentals. Thank you Marianne for everything.
“My favorite place to stay in Asheville”
This is our 2nd visit to Pine Cone. Our first was a getaway for my husband and me. It was great to come back and relax in the hot tub after a day of hiking or sightseeing downtown. This time the whole family came. The Pine Cone cottage is perfect for either type of situation (There is a full size kitchen and a washer and dryer.) My kids loved the bunk beds and the bear décor in their room. They enjoyed exploring the property especially the stream. Marianne and Jim were wonderful hosts. They thought of every little detail to make Pine Cone feel like you were at home. I have referred a couple of friends and they have stayed it different cottages and said they loved their unique décor and attention to detail that they received. We will be back for another visit as soon as we get a chance. The Bains Charleston, SC.
We have had the opportunity to stay at the Pinecone several times. Each time, it was clean, inviting and was extremely relaxing. The porch is well furnished with rockers, and a table. We have spent many hours on the porch rocking and eating our meals. The kitchen is stocked with utensils, appliances and other items. It is easy to cook in the kitchen. The Master Bedroom is well furnished. Upon your arrival, you will find a tray on the bed with flowers. You won't be disappointed in the Pinecone.
“A fabulous time was had by all.”
I almost hesitate to write a review because I hate to tell my secret, but this is the most relaxing and enjoyable trip my husband and I take every December. The Cabin of course is very quaint and cozy, but it is also completely equipmented with everything you would reach for if you were in your own home. Just stop at the grocery store on your way up and you are set. We have stayed at least five or six times and we are yet to be disappointed. Can't wait for this December.
This was the first time my family decided to have a holiday celebration away from home. We could not have picked a nicer place; clean, well equipped and conveniently located to Asheville and the the Blue Ridge Pkwy. We stayed for 5 days in both Treetop I&II wich provided us with more space then needed for five adults and two kids. Jim and Marianne were gracious hosts who made the entire process friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.
“Ox Glen is a little slice of Heaven!”
My husband and I are regulars at Ox Glen! It is only 20 minutes to the VA Hospital in Asheville, which makes it ideal for a place to stay if you need to conduct business in Asheville. We have stayed in 4 of their cottages. Every single one of them has been cozy, clean and comfortable! The fast wireless internet service makes it easy to work away from home or just stay in and watch satellite TV. Mary Ann and Jim make you feel right at home by leaving you a note on the door and the lights and gas-logs or air on for you. If you need them during your stay, they are only a phone call away. Each cottage is completely furnished and best of all you can take your pet with you. There are many nice places to eat in Weaverville or Asheville. The town of Weaverville is a quaint little town with many nice little shops to browse in or head just a little further out and shop at Walmart! Or just run by Ingles and grab some groceries and stay in. Each cottage at Ox Glen has it's own gas grill and clean up is easy with the the built in dishwasher! Oh and I forgot to say, the views are just amazing! Ox Glen is by far my favorite place to visit! Larry, Adrian and Nitro May
Staying with Jim and Marianne Reninger at OxGlen Vacation Rentals is the most perfect vacation we could have asked for. We have stayed in two other units and enjoy the individualized decor; each mountain retreat is warm and inviting. The unit was meticulously cleaned and prepared in every way for our visit. Any time you have a chance, come to the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina and find your new love. We now live in the Asheville area, thanks to the warm welcome we found at OxGlen.
“Highly Recommend this home away from home”
I've stayed at Pinecone many years. I always look forward to our annual stay in August. We can always count on the home being very clean with a well stocked kitchen and linens. Beds are comfortable. The best ammenitiy is the hot tub. While the location is rural, you are very close to the ammenities of Asheville and other surrounding areas. To top it off Marianne and Jim are the best of hosts.
“Coming Home to Ox Glen”
While property hunting in Weaverville, we were fortunate to find Ox Glen and the Reningers. We spent most of the summer of 2008 there, as well as several weeks in 2009 while waiting to move into our new home. There is nothing that was not thought of in equipping the cabins, and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting to vacation the Weaverville area. It is like being in your own home, but only if your home is in such a magnificent location.
“Better than home away from home - perfect, peaceful vacation.”
My family and I stayed in Ox Glen for 8 years each October. Every year we add a day or two to our previous stay, we loved it so much! I still miss it each October, but because I loved it and yearned for these beautiful mountains, I moved here. We have stayed everywhere from Disney World to various places in Europe. Ox Glen is by far the most perfect place in the world you will ever stay.
