“Spoleto has much to offer.”
Service, excellent, the car service recommended was right on time and when we had to change plans they were right there for us. Lorie as usual was his wonderful self. Right there when we arrived, great care in explaining this apt. pages of info in the apt. always reachable by phone. Location great, walking distance to many things, shopping outdoor market and the wonderful moving steps to the top of Spoleto and its many sites. Can not say if we will be back,it was our 2nd time there however our son who visited both times plans to return.
everything that Laurie and Norma have described and what they explained in our correspondence was completely accurate. Our stay was wonderful. The location was fantastic and the town itself was beautiful.
The place was just what we thought it would be! Laurie, the owner, was fantastic with information and things to do in Spoleto. The flat was located in a great place in the old city and everything was in walking distance. This was a five star stay for the four of us and we would definitely stay with Laurie & Norma again, hands down!!
“Perfect home -- perfect hosts”
What a wonderful family vacation we passed at the Terrazza Tetto! Laurie met my jetlagged three sons, husband and me at the train station and whisked us to the apartment. We could tell even in our exhausted state that it was perfect: much larger than I had realized, with two bathrooms, big living room and beautiful terrace. The kitchen was very well-appointed, including a nice bottle of wine, which was the kind of extra touch we encountered so often that week. Everything was spotless and comfortable. Laurie immediately introduced us to andrea, the chef at a restaurant just steps away, who served us a wonderful first lunch. In fact, every place that Laurie and Norma recommended was absolutely first-rate - and no meal was better than the feast we enjoyed at Daniella and Luciano's home in the hills, also arranged by Laurie. What a magical evening! Carless and loaded down with luggage as we were, it was a great relief to have an easy-to-use washing machine right in the kitchen. That's the kind of thing that may seem unimportant when planning a vacation, but it was so welcome during those hot summer days to know that a refreshed wardrobe was always within reach. Our clothes dried outside practically instantaneously. During our week, we took quick trips to assisi and other Umbrian hill towns. The trains were inexpensive, prompt, easy to figure out, and just a few minutes' walk from our apartment. So convenient, and what a joy not to have to drive! Another treat was the bike trek we took to some neighboring towns. Bike rental, near the train station, was also convenient and reasonably priced. Spoleto is a magical town that manages the tricky balancing act of being sophisticated and welcoming without being overtly touristy - and the same can be said of Laurie and Norma. You should visit Spoleto and stay in one of their places. You will not regret it. I was going to say it was the trip of a lifetime, but I hope this isn't the case: I'm already dreaming about my return trip!
“More than just a holiday rental”
What makes this place special is the additional lengths that Laurie and Norma go to, to make sure you have a wonderful holiday experience. The accommodation was superb including a well equipped kitchen (even though we ate all our meals out - it was just so easy). The information offered with the apartment and the different trips you could do meant is was more than just accommodation. We took up the option to experience a dinner cooked in the home of a local - it was such a unique opportunity to experience a 9 course tasting dinner with good company from other people staying in the apartments. The apartment itself provided a convenient base within the town, giving us the space and comfort to share with our in laws and have no hassles. Laurie went the extra mile and helped us sort out a wheelchair when needed so that we could make the most of both Spoleto and some of the villages near by (definitely recommend heading out to some of the other towns in the area as well as enjoying the wonders of Spoleto). Being close to restaurants helped us and having parking on site was a bonus (as long as you don't mind navigating typical Italian narrow back streets). All in all a great stay.
“A nice apartment in the centre of Spoleto”
We had a very warm welcome. Laurie was very helpful and friendly. The apartment fullfilled our needs. We liked the terrace and spend much time there. The location in the old town of Spoleto was excellent.
“We became Italians”
Spoleto is a wonderful town, and the apartment was perfect for us. It is well-located, and had all the amenities we desired. However, it took a few days of afternoon heat to learn to close the shutters from the afternoon sun. Everything was clean and ready for us. The owners are darlings, and we enjoyed working with them. The suggestions for activities were excellent, especially the 10 course 3-hour home dinner. Great Wifi and TV news channels. Sylvia and Jim Whitworth
“Loved having Terrazza Tetto and Spoleto as our home base in Umbr”
I can't say enough about how great this apartment was! We met Laurie the day before we moved in, we were supposed to stay in Vista Roca the night before but some issue arose so Laurie and Norma put us up in a hotel nearby - so generous and thoughtful of them! Laurie met us the next day and showed us around the apartment. He was wonderful and so funny - great service! He even gave us a parking spot which was a life saver. Make sure you get yourself a parking spot - I can't imagine having to find street parking with the tiny streets in town! The apartment itself had everything we needed and more. We only got to enjoy the terrace a few times due to the rain/cloudy weather but we loved it. The tv was great for relaxing nights in. Bed was comfortable, shower was great. Loved the located we walked all over Spoleto no problem. Our favourite restaurant was a bit of a walk but there were other good ones closeby. We'd absolutely stay here again! Thank you Laurie and Norma!
“great base for visiting a beautiful part of Umbria”
We enjoyed a wonderful week in this apartment. Laurie was a most welcoming host and the apartment turned out to be quite large, located at the beginning of Spoleto's old historic centre & pedestrian area, a nice walk away from the Duomo and La Rocca more uphill. Spoleto is lovely old town and not very touristic: people seem to live their daily lives here as they've always done and will continue to do so. Apart form Spoleto, there are plenty of other places to explore: hill towns such as Narni, Todi, Montefalco & Trevi, the Monte Sibbilini with Norcia & Casteluccio, the abbey of San Pietro in Valle, Assisi, Spello & Bevagna, hidden villages like Vallo di Nera & Labro Rieti, the Lago di Piediluco & the beautiful walking area of Monteluco. We didn't meet a lot of other tourists in this area (except for assisi & the Cascate del Marmore). In the apartment you'll find everything you need for daily cooking, shops and supermarkets are close by and so are the restaurants. If you're planning to visit this part of the "green heart of Italy" - and we really can recommend it, you could do far worse than spending a week in this nice apartment. And finally, the extra Euro's for a private parking place nearby are really worth the investment.
“relaxing, trouble free and wonderful service”
this was the 6th visit for us and the third property from Norma and Laurie that we have tried as with the others the apartment was immaculate well equipped and felt like our home for the time we were there. Laurie was helpful and kind as ever meeting us at the station and showing us the property, he was also very helpful when we went to hire a car. Everything in Spoleto is within easy walking distance to this apartment and there are plenty of great reasonably priced places to eat within 5-10 mins walk. There are shops close by if you want to cook in the apartment from the deli across the road from the apartment to the small supermarkets quite close by, to the larger ones 10 mins walk away. The people in the town are warm and welcoming we had a lovely time as always.
