“Excellent accommodation in a great location”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2010

Top quality accommodation, welcome items a great touch - flowers, welcome card, chocolates, good wine, bread in bread bin, milk/bottled water/butter/eggs/orange juice/tea/coffee etc. Lovely touch of some good quality local guides, books, maps, Dvd's to watch etc. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We were Ros & Jim's first guests they had ever had on a touring motorcycle - and they really looked after us. On arrival we were welcome to park our bike in front of our cottage on the hard-standing, with security lights etc., (as opposed to the gravel car park allocated for cars at the side of the cottages). On one occasion we came back late one evening very wet - and Jim had already set up his 'drying room' for our bike gear, and met us as we arrived. Excellent base for touring North Wales/Cheshire. Can't speak highly enough of Jim & Ros - would have no hesitation in going back or recommending Golly Farm.

“Home from home”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2010

This visit was our third in 8 months We booked one of the cottages for 7 weeks this time. We like the place that much. There is always a warm welcome from Ros and Jim and nothing is too much trouble for them. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well appointed. The location is tranquill with just the sound of the occasional horse or tractor to be heard as they pass by It The location is ideal as a base for tourists as the main road network for North Wales or Cheshire is very easy. Try it out you wont be dissapointed !

“Relaxing location - comfortable home away from home”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2010

We stayed at Golly Farm for almost two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The first two nights we were in the studio, which was more spacious than we had envisioned and was very comfortable. Then we moved to the Holly Suite, which is in the middle of the three units. We were concerned about noise because we have an 8 month old baby who was teething (!), but the walls are quite thick and the neighbors said they could not hear a thing. The Holly Suite is sunny and spacious. We were very happy with all of the features: the kitchen is very well-furnished with everything we needed, the living room is comfortable, and the bathroom is luxurious! The owners, Jim and Ros, also generously provided us a Pack-n-Play, a high chair, and a stroller to use while we were there - all in excellent condition. The location was perfect for us, because it's only a ten minute drive to Wrexham, where we have friends. It's also very convenient to Llangollen, Ruthin, Chester, and other wonderful areas for sightseeing. Although it is located in a very rural area and is therefore very quiet and peaceful, it's only a ten minute drive to the supermarket, drugstore, and many other conveniences. Jim and Ros were gracious and generous hosts and really made us feel welcome. We would definitely stay here again!
